  1. I’m not a dealer. You asked questions and then issued warnings; I was just responding. My post should have a curious tone; that’s what it was meant to be.
  2. Manufacturer/importer will be who made the gun and/or who imported it. The importers name (if one was required at the time) will be on the rifle. AIM is who you acquired the weapon from or “From Whomâ€. “Code†I think is used by an 01 FFL. It’s a C&R; as long as you have the basic information you can’t screw it up.
  3. Yes, it is as important (if not more) than the quality of the rifle. Talk is cheap, but 300-500 yards is a long way. Terry Walden’s in Manchester is a 300 Meter unsupervised range. But it’s pretty hard to get a spot on the weekends when the weather is good.
  4. If you are going to invoke Miranda; I would suggest you have an attorney you can call. It could make the difference in you going to trial or not. But I can’t help you with an attorney in Chattanooga.
  5. Really? If the SCOTUS isn’t interpreting the Constitution…. who is? Lets pretend you are right. How are you going to enforce it?
  6. Show pics of your lightbox. Is that black plastic or glass over paper? What material is the back drop?
  7. The Supreme Court of the United States is the interpreter of the Constitution. Prior to Heller and McDonald all (Except maybe one) of the Federal Districts had ruled that the 2nd amendment was not an individual right. In both Heller and McDonald the court ruled that while the right to own a gun is an individual right the right to control carry rests with the state. So now the 2nd amendment guratentees you the right to own guns; your state will control when and where you can carry them. It also guarantees that the government could not disarm a Police Department or a state militia. Our cops could not be disarmed like the cops in England are. As long as the 2nd amendment is in play. This was really the only way this could play out.
  8. When I was a cop my father-in-law was a Fireman. I heard a guy ask him that he replied “Don’t worry about us; we’ll open your doors when we get there.†Of course it may slow things down if an ambulance is all that is responding. But the alternative is not an option if you are preparing to be able to stop or slow down a home invasion. In every home invasion I responded to the home owners were specifically targeted and the home invaders knew what they were going into. You may stop burglars, but I doubt you will stop a home invasion. In a home invasion you need to be able to get a functioning gun in your hand in seconds.
  9. I’ve never seen a “fake walk around guy†that I know of. Why would it matter to you if the guy is a dealer or not? As I understand it a dealer could sell his private guns as a private party; but I would think he would have to be one dumb SOB to do that at a gun show. He would be putting his FFL at risk. There are too many people with agendas at gun shows and doing forum sales not to make sure you are involved in a legal sale.
  10. Good job. You can almost always make a stainless gun look new.
  11. No, you aren’t missing anything. The Miculek DVD also assumes you know a little; like how to use a stone properly. You can trash the components of your gun if you don’ know what you are doing. J-frames have stiff triggers by design. You will never get a J-frame as smooth as a full size gun. (And still have it reliable enough to be a carry gun.) They are belly guns; not target guns, I wouldn’t mess with the trigger.
  12. Yes. It is an RK show at Mid Tennessee Expo Center at the corner of Park and MTSU Blvd. (209 Park Ave.) Here’s a dollar off link. Rk $1 Coupon
  13. Who cares what they PM you? I have seen some pretty crazy pricing in the for sale section that I would have liked to comment on, but it is my understanding that results in an immediate ban. I would sure hate to have the rules changed to where people were afraid to make offers through a PM.
  14. That’s not true. You can’t make general statements in ballistics any more than you can in any other kind of physics. A bullet can be too fast. We see that with 9mm’s all the time. If your bullet doesn’t expel all of its energy in the body; it’s not a good defensive round. As “Law of Thirds†is pointing out; you have to look at everything like Mass, weight, velocity, surface area. You also have to look at the application and your abilities.
  15. Well you certainly never were one to hold back… What did John Harris tell you? My point is simply this… There are no “free Kills†in this or any other state (that I am aware of). Castle Doctrine gives you a presumption and a Prosecutor is free to prove you were not justified.
  16. I wouldn’t call it absolute; it’s a presumption not a guarantee. You are presumed to be in danger; but a Prosecutor is free to challenge that presumption.
  17. You don’t need an HCP on your own property. An HCP is so you can legally carry off your property. Would a reasonable person (Jury) believe you (or another) are in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm? If so; you are justified. Will you be put on trial, will you be sued civilly? You might be, but if you follow the law you probably won’t be.
  18. I need a “Mico†.40S&W. Haven’t found anything yet, maybe the gun show in Murfreesboro next weekend.
  19. I’ve been to them all… Fairgrounds, Franklin, Murfreesboro. If you are looking for new I would say the Fairgrounds will have the biggest selection of new guns. But the prices will probably be higher than your local dealer. Buying or selling used; it’s hard to beat the net.
  20. I thoroughly clean any new gun prior to its first range trip. But I don’t “Dunk-kitâ€. Dunk-kit is a cleaning kit from Cylinder & Slide. Cylinder & Slides Dunk-Kit Cleaning System
  21. What’s a magazine?
  22. No. I don’t care if felons get guns. If they did their time they should be able to protect themselves like anyone else. If they intend to use a gun in criminal activities; background checks won’t stop them from getting guns. Here’s my idea…. If you point a gun at someone during the commission of a violent crime; 5 years prison, even the Judge can’t change that. Crank off a round and its 10 years mandatory. Shoot someone and its life, no parole, and whether they die or not has no bearing.
  23. Damn Robert… do you have multiple personalities? I can’t stay in the discussion if I have to keep looking for what you are posting.
  24. Because unless you believe you have a right; you can’t believe that the legislature has the power to drive the interests of a “Special Interest†group down the throats of business owners. If the state recognizes carrying a gun as a right; they can force a business owner to allow it. When they do not view it as a right they have no authority to do so. Agreed??
