No, you wouldn’t be in trouble. But he’s putting you on the spot. If you are willing to lie; he doesn’t have a problem. If you are not a liar; he could have a problem.

I assume by your description you have an HCP. You can carry as many guns as you like. It is illegal for your friend to carry a loaded gun. So if he had it on him he is subject to arrest. But that’s up to the Officer on the scene. As a former cop I can say that no one could tell if it would cause any problems with the Officer; all cops are different. If you look like responsible adults going to the range, you probably wouldn’t have any problems. If you look like gang bangers coming from a residential burglary; you may have problems.

There is only 6 ten thousandths (.0006) of an inch difference in a 2mm and a 5/64. So either would probably work.

So? ….It won’t stop a Trident II missile.

It won’t matter. If I bid 1.75 and have the winning bid, and the increment is .25, and you bid 1.76 after me; it won’t accept your bid and I win. You would have to bid $2 to beat me.
-
Don’t ever bid on an item you want to buy, it just drives the price up. Bid the most you are willing to pay in the last 10 seconds. Sit back and see if you got a good deal.

A smart employer asks everything. There are very few things an employer can’t ask. For example, if you apply to be a cop most departments will do a full background on you that will include everything. They will start by asking you to put it all down on paper. Getting fired for carrying a gun (with a permit) against company policy might not kick you out of the running; but trying to cover it up would. I guess if you are hiring minimum wage workers or illegals it’s not important; but for many jobs you don’t want any surprises.

Prisoners shouldn’t be allowed to take jobs away from law abiding citizens.

Love them. I had one of the first full size 40’s in the area and then bought a 40C. Got tired of them and sold them off. Then realized what I had done and went and bought two new ones from Joe. It’s good to see an American company taking back the law enforcement market.

Yes, but will it out shoot my full size 1911? I gotta say I can’t see that happening.

I must not be in the same state you are in. Because in this state it is a crime to carry a loaded gun. You can buy the privilege from the state; but no rights are involved. I would like to see Tennessee become the next state to acknowledge the right to carry. But we won’t get that if people believe we already have it.
-
I would like to try one. You don’t have much choice in the thin 40’s. It’s pretty much either this or the Kahr. I don’t think this gun was designed to be marketed to target shooters or as an "off duty" gun. I think they put the thin grip on it to be attractive to the “easily concealable†market.

I agree. The only question I have is why it is surprising to you that you are getting some of the responses you got. Do you not practice law in traffic court and criminal court? I’m not questioning your knowledge of the law. But your knowledge of dirt bags that would cut you off or throw something at you seems to be lacking.

No one has a “Right†to be on the road; it’s a privilege. Did you sleep through drivers ed? Just kidding man, just kidding.

Personal Protection for delivery persons
DaveTN replied to Sky King's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You make very good points. There are a couple of problems. The first problem is that the law would need to remove the civil liability for the companies. An innocent bystander gets shot and everyone agrees that they deserve a payday. Well obviously the pizza delivery guy and the dirt bag don’t have any money. That leaves the “Deep Pocketsâ€; the businessâ€. These types of cases are settled out of court, a business should not have to hire a lawyer and go through that. The second problem is that the state of Tennessee has seen fit to make it a crime to carry a gun. Until that changes there aren’t going to be any laws forcing any businesses to allow carry anywhere. Not that will hold up in court anyway. Come on guys…. You can’t force a business to comply with the “right to bear arms†when your state won’t. Forcing a business to allow entry to those who carry, forcing businesses to allow guns in parking lots, forcing businesses to allow carry on the job…. You might be able to do that when it’s a right recognized under the Constitution, but you can’t do it when it’s a privilege that a special group purchases from the state. I support what you are saying, but I want the state brought into compliance first. -
Stop in at Academy; they should have them. If not Bass Pro does. They are a few bucks.

Wyoming Constitutional Carry signed into law by the govenor
DaveTN replied to MacGyver's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes, the right to bear arms is decided by individual states. You wouldn’t be able to carry in states that don’t allow it. For states that have reciprocity agreements you would still need to pay the state for a HCP. Some states require some kind of training for reciprocity. -
When I was a cop that would have been Aggravated Battery. I would have talked to the States Attorney and made sure that any “deal†involved prison time. A person that would throw a bottle from a moving car at a bicyclist or pedestrian is no different than a person that would shoot someone in a road rage incident. They need to go to prison.

I’ll take that bet; I’m sure it won’t be Alaska. -
Is ‘Project Gunwalker’ about to bust wide open?
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I’m sure this agent knew when he decided to come forward that his career is over. I’m sure Hillary and Obama have insulated themselves from this. But their preposterous statements about where the cartels guns were coming from is what caused this. They wanted to look creditable and an American Border Patrol Agent paid with his life. -
Not right now. I sold my last Vette a couple of years ago, a 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car. Any of you guys go to the Friday night Murfreesboro Cruise in’s? I haven’t been to it in a long time; but when it was at Stones river it was rumored to be one of (if not the) largest weekly cruise in in the country. I was there one night when the car count went well over 400.

Good for Wyoming. You won’t live long enough to see California acknowledge or comply with Constitutional carry. I doubt I’ll live long enough to see Tennessee comply; but we can hope. -
Go on a ride along with one of your local cops. You probably won’t want to ride on city streets anymore. People in cars will kill you. They will then tell the cop they didn’t see you or they had the right of way. Your family won’t really care that you had the right of way when some loser kills or seriously injuries you. A motorcycle is almost as bad, but at least on my motorcycle I have the power to get out of a bad situation. People can’t drive and they just don’t care if they kill someone. If they did care they wouldn’t be holding up traffic in the left lane while talking on their cell phone.

Citizens Arrest in SC allows "shoot to kill" ?!
DaveTN replied to BlackHawk93's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Many states had “Fleeing forcible felony†statutes. In Illinois we could shoot fleeing forcible felons until the early 80’s. But not anymore. My own personal requirements for using deadly force will (I believe) past muster in all 50 states. I would not want to go to trial for shooting someone that was fleeing and was no danger. I think my knowledge and experience of “all things lawful†is probably greater than Fallguy’s…. Does that mean I have low self-esteem?
