Jose Guerena Shot 60 times by Swat in his Home
DaveTN replied to JG55's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
What would you guys suggest? If you were in a meeting with the Sheriff or Chief ofPolice, let’s hear how you would deal with gang bangn’ thugs and drug dealers. And then let’s hear how you would handle suspected armed home invaders and those that have made open threats to cops. Crying and hand wringing over dead thugs that were going to kill cops just won’t get anyone’s ear; you need to have specific plans. -
Thanks for the info JeffsSig. I upgraded to the 811001 and saved a bunch of money.

Why…. You think maybe the Police Cadets would be better suited for a guy coming down the hall armed with a .223 semi auto rifle, yelling “I’ve got something for you guys Could you tell if they were really the Police? No. If they knocked on the door and showed you ID you still couldn’t be sure they were the police. So you make choices. Exactly. When would you send SWAT, when you have cops down? -

I kinda figured there was a reason the main stream media wasn’t pursuing this case. No one wants to get on this guys bandwagon. If anything someone that wanted to make an argument for the use of SWAT would use this case. I would have had a handgun and a bullet proof vest going up against an AR. -
What are the rules for shooting on your own property?
DaveTN replied to a topic in Training Discussions
Do yourself a favor and talk to an Officer from the department that would respond to a “Shots Fired” or “Man with a gun call”. It only matters what those guys will do. We could really get you screwed up. Welcome to the forum. -

You are exactly right. The wife will get a big named lawyer to take her case. The County will cut a deal just so they don’t have to go to court. The attorney will get most of the money, the wife will get next to nothing, and the tax payers will foot the bill. -

Like anything else… tactics and training. Seek or stay in cover, identify your target, don’t be left standing pointing a rifle a bunch of shooters no matter who they are, decide if you want to fight or surrender. There obviously is no magical answer. Mistakes are made. There are cases where mistakes were clearly made and innocent people died; this does not appear to be one of them. We don’t know what information they had on this guy. Maybe an informant told the cops that if you kick the door he will point a gun at you. That’s what happened and the force was escalated right then. -

Generally… no, not unless there is reason to believe there will be a problem. It is my understanding this was a suspect in a home invasion group. It might be if your City/Department is big enough to keep a SWAT team busy. -

What do you do with when leaving in vehicle?
DaveTN replied to NV2TN's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Nevada recognizes the Right to Bear Arms; Tennessee does not. Never forget that; it’s a crime to carry a gun in Tennessee. You can join our group by paying your fees for the privilege. It’s just a hunk of steel. I throw it in the glove box or the center console and hope they find it and leave before they find my laptop. The guns a lot easier and a lot cheaper to replace. -
Sure, the Germans make good stuff. But they aren’t any better than the Americans. I would just rather support American workers and my own economy. But that’s just me.

So would I. And no one failed to identify themselves; there is video on-line on the entry. Lester started it in post #92 of this thread… http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/national-politics-legislation/57430-indiana-repeals-4th-amendment.html -

What if they turned on a siren on the huge azz Police vehicle parked in your driveway, were in full police uniforms, and was yelling “POLICE!! SEARCH WARRANT†as they came through the door? Would you still be dead then? I guess if you pulled a rifle and pointed it at them you would be. -

I don’t think this happened; I think this story was made up by the press. -
It’s a sad day in our history when two thugs armed with handguns can walk into a business with at least the intent of committing armed robbery and possibly the intent of committing murder, and a man who is protecting himself and his employees ends up in prison for life. But… we have a legal system; not a justice system. I believe that when those potential murders crossed the door of the drug store with the intent of robbing it; their Constitutional and Civil rights should have stayed outside. I believe that someday that will be the case. If I had been on the jury they would have just had to have another trial because there is no way in hell I would have sent that man to prison. He didn’t put the events that unfolded that day in motion; he just ended them abruptly. I truly wish there was something that we as a group could do to stop this extreme miscarriage of (dare I even use the word) justice. In these types of discussions I am always quick to point out what the law is, and the fact that the state will send you to prison, because I think it is critical that people understand that. But that doesn’t mean I agree with it or think its right. As a Police Officer I saw too many people go to jail that did not belong there.

I want this..... SWL M&P15T 811041 5.56 16 AS BLK 30 $923.00 SHIPS FREE But I can't find it anywhere.

If you buy from somewhere like Buds, they have a list of dealers that already have their license on file and you don’t have to deal with a bunch of BS. Just call the dealer and let them know its coming.
-
Wolf, and I'll never do it again. I wouldn’t shoot it in your guns let alone mine. No matter how cheap it is.

I’d like to find something slim to carry. I have an M&P40 compact, but it’s really not slim. I need at least a .40S&W so I’m pretty limited. The Kahr MK40 looks nice, but the $700 price tag seems awful high for what it is. I’d try Walther PPS 40 today if it wasn’t foreign made. I wish S&W would buy them and get it over with and make that gun here. I don’t think Kel-Tec is offering anything in a small .40 anymore. I don’t know why they quit making the P40. The Kimber Solo in stainless would be an option if they ever made it in .40S&W. But it’s almost as big as the M&P and will probably have a $700 street price. It appears there is only one gun if the sub compact or slim, .40S&W, made in America category. Maybe this year we will see more…..
-
Really?? You didn't read that before you posted it did you? Sure it’s true… without a doubt. But, by all means, open carry… this is Tennessee it’s legal to do so as long as you have paid for the privilege.
-
Sorry, I called dibs at that price back at post 14 when it was thrown out and I didn’t even need to see the gun. In all seriousness though… If that’s a 29 (and I can’t tell from those pics that it is) it a Silhouette, which started at a -3. It was produced 83 to 91. I’d give him a Tupperware gun for it, if that is what he wants. If you don’t make deal; let me know.

Indiana repeals the 4th amendment?????
DaveTN replied to Will Carry's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree and I’m especially vocal about subdued uniforms and cops wearing masks. It amazes me that anyone that could make it to the rank of Chief of Police would allow it. It’s going to take a massive civil action from a court somewhere to make an example out some Police Department to show just how freakin’reckless that is. However…. Using SWAT in the Tucson incident didn’t seem to be over kill. Those Officers were engaged by a man armed with an AR/AK (Depending on who you read) rifle. A little slower on the trigger and they could have been burying a couple of cops. I watched the video; there’s no way he didn’t know those were cops. -
You get all butt hurt in this thread so you are going to go into that ladies thread and take a dump? Grow up.
