  1. The libs aren’t going to throw a fit. It’s going to create a whole new branch of state government. They live that kind of stuff.
  2. Okay… your crazy. But anyway... Don’t wells have hand pumps?
  3. I think it’s important because it shows that not all cops are okay with trampling all over someone’s rights just because they are poor, or because someone has a perception they are weak because they need help. I believe people like that will get what they deserve. It is unusual today because I am bouncing back and forth between two threads. One where I see nothing wrong with what the cops did on a search and defend their actions, and one where I think it is ridiculous that anyone that has read the Constitution or studied the history of the men that wrote it would think a search was okay.
  4. Thats the bottom line for those that argue in favor of buying foreign made stuff. I would just like to see their faces or hear what lies they tell their Grand kids when asked "Grandpa, Why did you do this to us? How could you have been so stupid?"
  5. I guess being a former cop I feel that when a government agent is forcing someone to submit to a search, that should require probable cause, or at least reasonable suspicion to believe a crime has been committed and the person you are searching committed that crime. I think it’s wrong when a business does it. I’ve never worked for a company that did it without cause; even as a cop they couldn’t test me without cause. The company I work for now will do it if you get hurt at work, but I think that’s a Tennessee Workman’s Comp policy. That’s an example of cause. Once you get on that "Slippery Slope" that allows you to think a government agent doesn’t need cause for a search; you are headed for disaster. I’m pretty surprised at some of the members here that seem to think this okay.
  6. Knock & Announce requires that the Officers knock and give the suspect a reasonable amount of time to answer the door. Reasonable is defined by the state courts. The Supreme Court has upheld warrants that were 15-20 seconds. No knocks warrants are harder to get because they generally require the Officer requesting the warrant to show that there is evidence that a likelihood of violence or evidence destruction exists.
  7. This. I could have typed for 10 minutes and it would have said basically the same thing. Also the risk to Officers is unacceptable.
  8. We are headed for destruction already. We can’t send our jobs overseas and stop the government handouts. The rich people that call themselves Americans while sending our jobs off to other countries for higher profits don’t understand that they will not survive our economy crashing.
  9. I saw a post about someone hearing something on a scanner awhile back and it made me wonder. Isn’t most of the information sent digitally to a computer in the car anymore? Aren’t Police voice frequencies blocked or scrambled? Could I get a scanner that would allow me to listen to Murfreesboro PD and RCSO?
  10. Just kidding. Nice looking test box.
  11. I don’t think I would recommend a piston gun for a first AR. I know I wouldn’t pay extra for one. I guess I’m saying I would be looking more at the DI vs.Piston, than the Ruger Vs. whoever. I don’t have one and haven’t shot one.

  13. Isn’t this thread déjà vu all over again? I’m against it. Drug testing people because they are poor, and with no probable cause is wrong. However… the government is running it. So they can create a whole new state government office and staff it with welfare recipients that could not keep a job anywhere else. Then they would show the taxpayers how they are paying for less people on welfare. They won’t show them the costs they are paying for a useless new bureaucracy.
  14. It’s already a felony that carries like 10 years in prison to have possession of or transfer a fully automatic weapon without the government’s approval. That would be a tough act to follow. What will the new law do, allow for execution right on the spot? Who writes these stories?
  15. I bought this for “Cheap Trigger Timeâ€. It’s a Smith &Wesson 617 in .22LR. It’s not small, but its competition accuracy. I bought it because it’s a Smith & wesson and the same size and weight as my K-frames and nearly the size of my L-frame .357’s. “Cheap trigger time†is useless unless your gun has theability to put the rounds where you are aiming.
  16. I wouldn’t get on a forum and call you a backwoods redneck hillbilly even I thought you were one. I’m a former Police Officer and took offense at your biased hateful remarks aimed at all Police Officers. There are cops on this forum that can’t stand up to you and your mindless remarks because of their jobs. I don’t have to worry about that. I gave my opinion of this incident based on having been in their shoes. Those cops didn’t want to kill anyone; the dumbazz in the house made that happen. If these cops had been wrong this would be all over the mainstream news. It isn’t… why do you think that is? You see my opinions and a couple of cops opinions and you decided to turn this into a cop bashing thread? Why?
  17. Jump on a forum and post stupid crap if you want to, but don’t expect people to keep quiet and accept what you say as anything near the truth. You’re a cop hater; we get it… you made that crystal clear. If you had made a proper complaint you would have found out why your wife got stropped. I suspect you already know. If you had made a complaint a Command Officer would have ask the Officer why he stopped your wife. I can assure you the answer would not have been “I don’t knowâ€. So you want us to believe that you are some big bad azz that went into the Sheriff’s Office, pinned him in a corner and threatened him? Some of the kids on here might believe that but anyone with common sense won’t. Now tell us what really happened out there on the road that got you are so pizzed off. Of course I wasn’t there… were you? Was this the Sheriff of Macon County that you had trembling in fear?
  18. Why? A snub nose isn’t a range gun and a .22mag isn’t a good self-defense round. If it’s for practice I wouldn’t pick a designer round, I would go with a .22LR. I’d put the $300 (new price) towards a carry or range gun. Just my opinion.

  20. The weapons were found when the Police executed a search warrant after the shooting. That tells me the parents will likely be charged criminally. To say that all firearms should be loaded is reckless and make us all look bad. Some states have laws addressing this, and there is legislation pending at the Federal level. I support this legislation. It’s sad that we need it. I have been in many homes where the parents had no business having kids, let alone kids and firearms. This was no an accident. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children.
  21. 620 mile range is plenty when it’s on a mobile platform. I wonder who made it?
  22. A 30-30 and a .308 don’t compete with each other, you need both. I’d buy a Remington 700 .308 bolt first, and a quality scope to go with it. A .308 will take anything you will come across in North America. Ammo is not that much more than 30-30 and you have cheap military surplus stuff available for practice. However, If your Grandfather is teaching you; get whatever he tells you to get. Once you have experience you can get whatever you want. That’s just how it works.
  23. That’s just Someone at the scene knew why she was pulled over and they told her. The first thing you say about the incident is that “She was tiredâ€. Does that mean she was suspected of DUI? It’s easy for you to get on a forum and post some hair brained story when we have no way to talk to the cops that were there. So some cops pull your wife over, check her, out and let her go. And because of that cops are “sorrier than the general population in which they serve.â€? You want us to believe that you waltzed into the County Sheriff’sOffice and threatened him for something he had nothing to do with? you would have been in jail. That speaks volumes right there.

  25. What would you guys suggest? If you were in a meeting with the Sheriff or Chief ofPolice, let’s hear how you would deal with gang bangn’ thugs and drug dealers. And then let’s hear how you would handle suspected armed home invaders and those that have made open threats to cops. Crying and hand wringing over dead thugs that were going to kill cops just won’t get anyone’s ear; you need to have specific plans.
