Here’s a news flash for you Chief….. Gun laws and carry laws outside the home are controlled by the state. Do they not brief you on SCOTUS decisions that directly impact your city? It’s already illegal to carry a loaded gun in your state and requires registration in your city to even own one. You already have the laws you want. If things are not going your way, get off your lazy freakin azz, do your job, and quit looking for someone else to blame. He’s making noise about this right now because the Illinois legislature is considering allowing carry by permit.

Nope, child abuse is handled on a case by case basis. It’s one of those things that you can’t give a written absolute description of what it is; but you know it when you see it. Here’s an example… Smacking your kid on the azz with your open hand and no leaving marks… probably no problem. Beating your kid with a belt or hitting them so hard with your hand you leave marks or bruises… don’t be surprised if the cops show up and put you in handcuffs.

Thats what needs to be investigated. I guess it would depend on the states laws on recording. I don’t think anyone has a right to record anything. However arresting them instead of kicking them out is going a little far.

I have a Kel-Tec PLR-16 which is a .223 pistol. They are a blast to shoot. We don’t have CCW in this state, we have HCP. If it’s classified by the ATF as a handgun, and has a barrel less than 12†(The PLR-16 does); it would meet the requirements for a carry weapon. However, a guy that open carried an AK pistol lost his carry permit over it. Some people want attention, and then cry about it when they do something stupid and get it. Carrying a gun requires common sense. If you open carry an AR pistol you will get attention.

I can't belive it. I'm watching a video that based on what I see I'm pretty sure shes both a loon and drunk. You are more than willing to make blanket staements about cops in general who you know nothing about, and then say your cops in good ole Clarksville are an "above average" group. And you think someone needs to check thier ego?
-
I’ve walked in both the shoes of those cops and of an average citizen. Why would I want to disregard knowledge and experience I have? We don’t know what was going on with that traffic stop. He may have initially told her to get out of there because he was concerned about her safety because of who he was stopping. After that she just became a diversion that he had to deal with. We just don’t know. As I said before cops don’t care if you film them; this wasn’t about filming; this was about obstructing Police. Why did the cop not feel safe? I don’t know, and if the press knew they aren’t saying. Yes 6.8AR the woman is a loon. I’ve seen it happen plenty; People that disregard the warnings and get arrested are usually mental cases or drunk. She may have been both. GunTroll, cops don’t make laws. The have the power their state legislators and the courts give them. There is no double standard. You can. The proper way for the woman to handle this would have been to go make a complaint against the Officers. It could have been explained to her in a better setting why she needed to get her crazy azz off the lawn and back in the house. She still may have not been able to comprehend what was going on, but at least she wouldn’t have been arrested. It does. This isn’t about filming. But you are right. People should be allowed to film what they want as long as they aren’t interfering, obstructing or violating someone expectation of privacy. Then send in your HCP and your FFL; you are the poster child for double standards. They will determine that in court. I can’t; I wasn’t there. She won’t get a dime (or shouldn’t), with her prior conviction she will be lucky if she doesn’t do jail time.

Manroy Defense Systems bought the assets of Sabre Defence. Their website has the Nashville address listed but I see no mention of the Sabre name. http://www.manroy-usa.com/contact_us.php

The lottery on community service maybe. Once again the media titles are simply grandstanding. This has nothing to do with filming and everything to do with obstructing Police. I'd like to see the entire video, not just the portion the media decided to show. I' also like to hear from the Officers at the scene. Because thats what the DA or the judge will make their decisions based on.
-
So you think she was crying because she was totally taken by surprise that she was arrested? Did you not understand what the Officer was saying? Would you not have understood what was going on when they started putting cuffs on you? Would you feel better about it if during the part of that video that you are not seeing the Officers told the woman she would be arrested if she didn't go back inside? yea, we will have to disagree on this one.
-
Sounds pretty resonable to me. She obviously has mental problems. She is crying and saying she didn't understand. I don't think the cop could have been much clearer. I doubt this will go to trial, the DA will probably dismiss charges if she agrees to go see a shrink.

I've seen real child abuse cases where the abusive parent said they were arrested for "Spanking" their child. What else do you expect them to say, who is going to admit to abusing a child? We don't have the luxury of having the information and evidence the Judge had. The courts are full because we have a lot of criminals and the lower our economy goes the more we will have. Judges aren't worried about job security; most are elected. Cops don't have to worry about job security either.

The Officer said the magic words. I know I've done it myself when I had friends of someone that I had on a traffic stop and pull up behind my squad. I wasn't about to try to conduct a traffic stop and have to watch two vehicles. The driver said he had a right to be there and I told him if he didn't drive away I would arrest him for obstructing Police and tow his car. He left. I don't care who they are or what they film, but if they require the Officer to continually divert his attention from a traffic stop, they are committing a crime. Under Illinois law it was called obstructing a Police Officer. I don't know what the law is in Tennessee (I'll look later) but I'm sure they have something that prevents you from putting a Police Officer in danger after you have been warned. As I said I had no problem with someone filming, but apparently in this case there was more to it. Court isn't held on the street and if you try to interfere you will probably find yourself in jail.

The Police should never be concerned with anyone filming them unless they are jeopardizing a crime scene or the identity of a victim. I never was. In before the lock.

1 dead, 1 injured in Ashland City shooting
DaveTN replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yes, but being attacked without cause is not nearly the same as being an active participant in a road rage incident, bar fight etc. You can't kill someone because you are afraid of getting your azz kicked. You can't let your mouth overload your azz and then have your gun back it up. You walk away; that's what a reasonable person that is carrying a gun does and that is what a jury would expect you to do. -

If you are an active participant in a road rage incident you better be willing to take an azz whipping without pulling a gun; otherwise keep right on driving. -
Well it appears they have a Judge that says spanking your kid is a crime.

Without knowing all the details I would say that after being shot…..twice, you are no longer a "reasonable person" and I would not charge him. -

Sounds like the HCP holder pulled over to get in a fight and then shot an unarmed man. Who then took his gun away from him and killed him with his own gun. Am I reading that right? -
Or just make us the forth state that recognizes it as a right.
-
Well of course it does. Now go back up to my post #8 and read the second from the last sentence. BTW... Sentences start with capital letters and end with some kind of punctuation.

Yep, Watch what I want, when I want, without watching commercials. I don't think there is any going back to primitive TV. Now if they just had some competition to get the price down.
-
I was home from work today so I watched this. Looks like it might be one of the big hits for the summer. If you have Comcast its on On-Demand under TV>TNT.
