Thanks for your service. I lived in Ft. Lauderdale for a couple of years 85-86. The bars on the strip were still rockin’, but the spring break transition to Daytona was being made. Good times. My company moved us to Ocala. Wow, talk about culture shock. I went on a cruise out of Miami a couple of years ago and spent a night in Ft. Lauderdale. What a shame. Yes, I’ve played with all settings. Some are better than others. But I want to take full control. I haven’t kept up on audio and stereo equipment for many many years. But I’m pretty sure there are people out there that have. I’m not looking for who has the best price, or what sound bar someone likes, I’m looking for what hardware I would have to buy to control the voices and the background sounds, independently.

You are going through the same thing many of us are. Simply buying a soundbar is not the answer, I have many (3) soundbars and so do my friends. Without the ability to adjust the different levels; I don’t think any of them will do what I need.

I’m going to post this on a home theater forum, but thought we may have some audiophiles here that are knowledgeable in this area. Plus its something to discuss other than Coronavirus. As I have gotten older and my hearing has gotten worse, it’s hard to hear voices in TV and movies that have a bunch of music or other background sound. What hardware do I need to take down the background and pull the voices out better? I would assume I need a stereo receiver with a built in equalizer?? Thanks for any ideas.

So what happened? A week ago they said 1700 software engineers at Google was working on a web site where you could answers questions and get referred to a place to get tested. Normally I would think that would take 2 or 3 web designers maybe a week.

Yes, but its voluntary compliance. No one is going to be stopped, unless they are a problem. If businesses are open; that’s all they can do. That isn’t much difference than what we have been asked to do. They are just trying to make it sound serious by calling it "mandatory".

I’d like to, but I can’t. The President of the United States is standing on that stage surround by top medical people in the country saying this is the real deal. I don’t believe they are all lying, and I doubt any of them, other than the politicians, are driven by politics. Could this be fake? I think its like those claiming the moon landing was fake. It would require more people acting together and keeping their mouths shut than is possible. Especially when you still have people in this administration desperate to uncover anything this President has done wrong. It would also require that other countries, like Italy, to be involved.

We are as close as we have ever been to martial law. We are as close as we have ever been to the likelihood of armed gangs roaming the streets. We are as close as we have ever been, as a nation, of citizens needing the arms referred to in the 2nd amendment.

I seem to remember Bruce Willis (General William Devereaux) giving a good speech about not hoping for martial law. I can’t find it, all I can find is The speech Denzel Washington (FBI Agent) gave when he arrested the General. Or, maybe I’m thinking of a different movie. But we surely don’t want martial law. And we don’t want Marshall law either; that would be worse.
