  1. If you were innocent until proven guilty you wouldn’t be handcuffed and taken to jail until after court.
  2. Your friend may have been arrested and the charges were dismissed but the disposition never made it into the system. I had that happen to me on a 20 year old gun charge. I had it happen twice and the appeal took 4 days. Both times two of those days was a weekend. Both times my appeal was faxed in right there on the spot. He may have made the choice to not put his SS number on the form and there is a question on his identity. It is about dollars. However, plenty of people are driving on a revoked drivers license that they have in their possession. They don’t tend to surrender them as required.
  3. I don’t know, and I doubt you do either. City officials have a responsibility to make an effort not to do dumb azz things that will get them sued. This isn’t about rights or even about gun laws; Police Departments selling guns is ignorant at face value. I wouldn’t do it if I was a Chief or Sheriff and I would tell the Tennessee State Legislature that if they were going to force me to sell guns they need to send a representative here to handle the sale. That is exactly what you are doing on this issue.
  4. I’m a former Police Officer and a Tax Payer. If someone’s kid was killed by a gun that was sold by the Police Department many people (including many here), would be going nuts wanting to sue the cops. The public outrage would be overwhelming. Therefore I feel the same way about this I do about trying to force businesses to allow HCP holders to carry…. Absolute immunity. If you are going to force the Police Departments to become arms dealers over their own objections you have to give them absolute immunity. Because the Police Department doesn’t pay when they get sued or settle “nuisance suits”, as a taxpayer I pay. Therefore I’m against it without total legal immunity (and I don’t think that can even be done). As gun owners we have too much to lose and nothing to gain.

    New Toy

Those look nice. I want to try one as soon as we get past the introductory pricing.

    Disappointmints.

Apparently Joe Armstrong is tired of being a State Representative.
  7. I suspect that is exactly what you are trying to do; but I’ll play. Why else would you post a question where there is no factual information? Being able to track cops that have been arrested could possibly be done. Being able to track HCP holders that commit crimes is impossible. Are you going to try to make the argument to business owners that if the situation presented itself you would be better trained to deal with it than a Police Officer?
  8. I would guess like anything else you would be at the mercy of the responding Officers or Game wardens, and then the legal system. If it was a self-defense situation and you reported it immediately; I doubt it would go badly for you. I suspect the Officers would simply let you go. If you chose not to report it and got caught I would guess you would be facing some illegal hunting charges. I’m not going in the woods anywhere without being armed; and can’t believe how many people do it. And if an animal attacks me I’m going to shoot it. If I face charges; so be it.
  9. Because it looks cool? Then don't. I’m not suggesting anything; I’m stating without reservation that walking into certain death will not “be betterâ€. It will not be better because (if we simply overlook the fact that you are dead) no matter what the situation is people like you that have never been in a fight, much less a gunfight, will start judging their actions. In your world the bad guys have no training and if an HCP holder gets shot it surely had to be because they were not properly trained. Unless it’s you, and then if you survive you will have a perfectly good reason of why you failed.
  10. So I headed into the gun shop to try to find a mag for an old gun I had laying around. I didn’t have a case so I stuck it in my waistband under my shirt, so I wouldn’t upset the locals. When I handed it to the guy behind the counter to see if he could find me a mag, some old guy with a big white beard and wild azz hair that looked like Santa on crack, seemed to get all nervous and was staring at me for a long time. A little while later I saw him stumbling around in the parking lot checking out my car and writing down my license plate number. I think he was thinking about burglarizing some cars in a gun store parking lot. But when I came out he got in an old Ford Pinto and left. What should I have done?
  11. I’m going to take the other side. Who puts bumper stickers on their car? Children (or people in general) shouldn’t have to read profanity because some moron is confused about the Constitution. If you stood on a street corner yelling profanity you would be arrested; why would you think its okay for a sticker on your car?
  12. This caught my eye in looking for a Micro. I’m not a fan of the 9, but I’m a fan of giving an American company a chance. (It appears this company was started by a couple of Kel-Tec ex-employees) I guess I’m either going to have to spend over $600 for a New Kahr MK40 or go with a 9MM. The reviews I have seen so far have been good. I did notice that there was a 9C, but it is no longer on their website. This gun (and some of the others be compared) is half the price of a Kahr.
  13. I like to watch his videos, his range is bad azz! I think he tries to be as objective as he can. Seeing someone review a gun while they turn and fire sure does make the “Tabletop” reviews look pretty lame. Another one is NutnFancy. I couldn’t stand him when I first started watching his videos. But if you can put up with some on the dumb azz stuff he says; he does a very good review.
  14. How much did your accuracy deteriorate when you shot a rifle with this stock?
  15. I’m going to bump this up again and see if anyone has used this on a .308 bolt.
  16. Fill us in.
  17. “Its better†and “taking a bullet†don’t go together. If you die with a gun in your hand all that will happen here is that some of our arm chair quarterbacks will say that you needed more training. But I remember when I was 10 foot tall and bullet proof.
  18. I think it’s too bad you had to lose your job over it. The state of Tennessee nor the Federal government recognizes a right to carry a gun to work, or anyplace else. I got arrested for carrying a gun I my car. I thought it was my right and I thought I would take it all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States. I was young and dumb. Carrying a gun and pulling a gun is a lot of responsibility and there are plenty of people that will make a big deal out of anything you do wrong. I would appeal the decision on your unemployment; I think you will come out okay unless you have been warned about this before. Good luck.
  19. Really? You think if someone decides to knock you TFO and take your car the fact that you have a gun will stop them. Once they get within reach of you, they may well own you. What are you going to do start waiving a gun around if anyone comes near you? All the firearms classes in the world aren’t going to help you if you are simply overpowered, especially by several attackers, or if multiple gunmen walk up shooting. (It appears that is what happened in this case.) A gun is a last ditch effort. And if you aren’t in peak physical condition a gun will not level the playing field against someone that is. You think these gang bangers haven’t played this game before? Some of you guys must have the dumbest, slowest bad guys in the world when you are going these scenarios in your head. These kids didn’t die because they didn’t have a gun; they died because we allow these thug punks a revolving door at the jail.
  20. Congrats…. There is no going back now.
  21. If lying on your Facebook page is a crime a lot of people are in trouble. Trying to pull women over or saying you are a cop to get free donuts would be a crime.
  22. As I pointed out in another thread, companies in this country operate under the heavy and very costly hand of the EPA and OSHA. I don’t know who it was in that meeting that was trying to stop him or what their agenda is, but if contaminating the drinking water is an issue; the EPA will deal with that. There are an awful lot of people that have jobs right now and are more than willing to turn their backs on both their neighbors and their country if it saves them a dime. I’m ashamed to see it, and I ashamed of the posts here that support it.
  23. That had to be written by the same attorneys that did the vehicle stop video that said to get out and lock the doors. Do whatever you like until you are ordered to leave or are told you are interfering. After that you are risking arrest if you are obstructing the Officers. A warrant is rarely used on the street or on a traffic stop. A warrant is not required if there is probable cause for a search.
  24. Here’s another cost we are going to have to bear. They (all) are going to have to tighten security up to that of a bank.
