  1. Do you let your dog loose? I’m a dog lover, and not a hunter, but if I saw dogs killing a deer, I would take them out. I would feel bad about it and probably lose some sleep, but I doubt I would worry about what the owner was going to do. He should have been taking care of his dogs.
  2. I just got a call from MasterCard. My credit card was compromised, but they caught it. There was a small charge from Google and Apple today; I didn’t attempt them. The woman said she didn’t know yet what exactly had happened, but said usually a merchant is hacked and then the hackers try the small changes to see if the account is working. They had to shut down my account and reissue me new cards. Although this may not be it, this was the first place I thought of because it’s the only online or out of the norm charge I have had recently. Again… I’m not saying LA Police Gear had anything to do with this…. Just wondering…Anyone else??
  3. I could use Paypal for anything I like; I don’t want to. It pizzes me off when I see “Discreet Paypal†or Paypal Gift†as payment for gun stuff.
  4. First off I’m not a cop anymore and I’m not representing my statements as one.</SPAN> Secondly, I didn’t say I supported it; I said I just don’t care.</SPAN> Sure, everyone you ask is going to say it wasn’t a good idea now that it is being blamed for the death of an American. But someone had to think it was a good idea…. They did it.</SPAN> The Mexican government doesn’t have the desire or the ability to stop he cartels. We have both the desire and the ability, but it won’t be allowed. The Mexican government is sucking money out of this country in the name of drug enforcement; they don’t want to fix the problem.</SPAN> If you believe that the Mexican cartels are getting their guns from legitimate guns shops in the southwest; then the obvious fix is gun control. I do not believe it is happening; it doesn’t make sense..</SPAN> Why in the world would I need to make a choice between the life of an American and the life of a Mexican?</SPAN> I’d be more than happy to guarantee the President of Mexico that we could stop our guns from crossing the border if he would guarantee he could stop (or even make an attempt) drugs and illegals from crossing.</SPAN>
  5. It matters to me. I really couldn’t care less if they allowed guns to go into Mexico to track where they went. Everyone is up in arms because they say the AFT lost track of the guns and one was used to kill a Border Patrol Agent. If that didn’t happen; it doesn’t need to be addressed. To blame this action for the death of that Agent you would need to believe that if it wasn’t for this action that criminal would not have been there and been armed. I don’t give a rolling rip down a razor blade how many guns go to Mexico, where they come from, or if they are legal, and neither would you if it wasn’t a chance to blast our government. The Mexican government does nothing to stop the illegals crossing the border that are helping to destroy our economy. They don’t help us apprehend criminals that flee to Mexico unless there is something in it for them. Their Police are corrupt and help the criminals. Then their President comes to our Congress and asks them to ban assault rifles because they are making their way into his country??? Screw him and the donkey he rode in on. A while back a carry permit holder shot a cop on a traffic stop. He then stood over him and fired three more rounds into him to make sure he was dead. Do we need to address how that gun got there and why he was carrying a gun? No, and we don’t need to address it in another county either.
  6. This came up in a story in another thread. It’s not what has been reported prior. So all this hype about one of these guns being used to kill a Border Patrol Agent may not be true.
  7. GunPal and GPal crashed and burned a long time ago. Is anything new in the works for a gun friendly (or simply a place that doesn’t ban legal sales) on-line payment option?
  8. They have identified some of those at the 7-11 store; charge them armed robbery. As a DA I would say that with a flash mob the threat of force is implied whether anyone says it or not. Someone that is armed is going to be threatened by one of those mobs and some of those thug kids and going to get dropped where they stand. Hopefully we will get a ruling that the use of deadly force was justified, instead of the victim being sent to prison. This just pizzes me off. This isn’t a race issue; these are thug kids that have no respect and no fear. Not be able to go to college??? You have got to be kidding me; none of those thug azz kids are going to college.
  9. “LEO†or “working in Law Enforcement†are terms that are thrown around pretty fast and loose. There was a guy on another forum that said he was a “a LEO†flapping about vehicle searches. It was clear he didn’t have a clue and he ended up being an IT guy for the department. If someone is telling you they are “a LEO†ask point blank if they are a Police Officer. Lying about being a cop to buy a Police Officer exempt item is a crime. That’s why most places require a letter from the Chief or Sherriff on Department letterhead. Besides being required to know the laws of the state you are selling to and your own, if you have to send it to CA, your price is too high; drop your price and sell it to someone local.
  10. You don’t have a right to carry that type of pistol or any other; it’s against the law to carry a gun in Tennessee. That’s already been decided in recent SCOTUS rulings. You have a right to own guns, but you do not have a right to bear them; that right will be controlled by the state. Only four states recognize that you have a right to bear arms; Tennessee is not one of them. Due to the recent rulings the only thing standing between us and a true right to keep and bear arms is the Tennessee legislature. Sorry to keep bringing this up, but as long as people think they have a right to bear arms under the United States Constitution; nothing will change. No matter how much you want that right or no matter what kind of inspiring speeches you have heard about the 2nd amendment the truth remains that it is dead and unless your state acknowledges that right; you don’t have it. And it’s because of nut cases like this that we will have a tough time becoming the fifth state.
  11. Exactly. Then everyone would have wanted to crucify the cop and would be asking what kind of an idiot cop allows a nutcase like that to go walking through Radnor Park with an AK strapped across his chest? The cops did the right thing; good for them.
  12. I have run through that scenario in my head plenty of times. If I can’t make a clean head shot, I’ll let him do whatever he is going to do. If I clearly have the opportunity to turn him off like switch; I would take it. A person threatening another with a gun is bought and paid for. (as long as you are sure what you are seeing… meaning victim/Perp). The only liability I’m worried about is bystanders. Shooting someone while they are pointing a gun at someone is reckless; so is creating a hostage situation.
  13. Thanks, I was thinking about a motorcycle trip to Smokey Mountain Knife Works. They don’t have that knife on their website, but I'm sure they have something to suit my needs.
  14. The weight is what caught my eye. I’m looking for something lighter than my 3.1oz Gerber
  15. This caught my eye. Anyone have it? Assisted opening 3†blade at 2.2oz!! That’s pretty wild. About $170 street. 470 Emissary™ | Benchmade
  16. You can fight anything in court, but they can pretty much do what they want in a drug seizure. It will boil down to the court (or the DA) deciding whether she knew what was going on or not. If they determine she knew he was a drug dealer, and she let him use her car; it’s probably gone. The cops and the courts usually won’t make the bank take a big hit. If she owes a lot on it they may give it back to her or to the bank. She can go to court and make her case on her own or she can decide if the money involved justifies hiring a lawyer. Tell her to do what all the other people that get involved in drugs busts do …. Roll over on everyone she knows and get her car back.
  17. Guns & Alcohol…. Bad ending.
  18. Let me guess… you are in your 50’s and grew up watching this guy…. Like many of us.
  19. Yeah… I noticed the “subsonic†on that box after I ask. Either SMZRU275 has some big azz hands or that’s a pretty small looking round to be comparing with a .308 Winchester. That’s pretty amazing.
  20. I ordered a G3 and a E2E and that SMUT code took 15% off. Those are pretty good prices; now let’s see if we get them. EDIT: The free shipping on over $50 in surefire products didn’t kick in though. It was really only about $5.
  21. Nice build. But why would you want this over a .308WIN?
  22. I keep saying that this is on the people; not the government. Quit looking for someone to blame and decide that you are going to part of the solution and not part of the problem. We have the ability to turn our economy around anytime we choose.
  23. I had a 597. It was supposed to be the one with a factory scope but Bass Pro ran out of them. So they sold me one with their brand (Red Head) for the same price. The Good: It was so accurate out of the box it was boring. Dime size groups at 25 yards (indoor range) continually. It’s closer to a full size rifle than most other .22’s. It’s cheap, but accuracy wise, I would put it up against any production .22 rifles I have used. The bad: Unless Remington has changed something you have to put 500 rounds through one before it will function reliably. Prior to break-in mine did the best with CCI Mini-Mag HP’s. Most anything else didn’t work well at all. After break-in I didn’t have any problems, but I knew what to watch for on assembly after cleaning, and I didn’t use anything but CCI Mini-Mags. If you just want cheap trigger time; I don’t think there is anything in the $200 range that can touch it. If you want to buy something for the base on which you will build a rifle I would start with a base Ruger 10/22.
