Not many care what they thought. Had they known that nearly 75 years later the country would be torn apart by a civil war over States Rights; maybe some things would have been different. For one the 2nd amendment would have been more specific. I don’t think the 2nd amendment was written was written with personal protection in mind; it’s pretty clear that it wasn’t. I think personal protection is an inalienable right. Unfortunately the courts don’t agree. They gave us a blueprint to start from. They expected the people to carry on. They had no way to know about things like career politicians, gangs, drugs, cars, aircraft, computers, etc. However, they didn’t want “The People†to rule the country. If they had our form of government would be a Democracy instead of a Republic. In a democracy we would simply vote on whether or not we can carry guns. I don’t want to see that; we would lose.

Pulled over last night - carrying

That speaks volumes. Why would you have that attitude? There is nothing in the Constitution or Tennessee state law that requires a Police Officer or a Citizen to put their life in danger. As a Police Officer I would do whatever it takes to go home alive. I know that’s not popular with some, but that’s the way it is; HCP holders are not living at the foot of the cross, they have killed cops on traffic stops. No, in Tennessee you are not required to notify. However you asked a question wondering if you were required to answer that question when asked. Yes, it’s the law. You do not have a right to remain silent and cannot invoke the 5th. You have no more a right to privacy when he asks you if you have a gun than when he asks if you have a driver’s license. -
Three juvenile girls are in custody. Would like to hear “the rest of the storyâ€.

No, being “Green†is now a multibillion dollar industry that you are expected to pay for in the products that you buy. The fact that it is unnecessary will not be accepted any more than the fact that we control our economy. +1

Is there a way to get rid of that?

I just upgrade to a DROID 3, my old phone was so lousy on the net I gave up trying to use it. I’m still in a learning curve on the DROID but it looks like it will be a lot better. What’s the advantage to using software like Tapatalk?

The Constitution and the 5th amendment have nothing to do with it. The 2nd amendment doesn’t apply once your vehicle leaves your property. It’s a crime in the state of Tennessee to carry a loaded gun in your car. You have bought the special privilege of carrying a gun from the state, and you have agreed to comply with the requirements of that privilege. Playing word games with a cop over a speeding ticket is no where near the same as being asked if you have a gun. If you have an HCP and you tell a cop you don’t have a gun, when you do, will you be arrested and go to criminal court? Probably not; the DOS will just give you hearing and then pull your permit. Most of us here believe that we should have the right to carry without requiring a permit. But we are not in one of the states where that is the case. We have to live in the real world and abide by the laws; or lose our special permits status. Our special status is purchased; not guaranteed by the Constitution. I doubt Google has ever been stopped by a cop. If you ever have the chance sit down one on one with a street cop and an attorney (a criminal defense attorney, not your tax attorney) and discuss what you should say. I would bet you money that those attorneys on the net that are trying to get you in a pizzing match with a cop; don’t give their own children the same info. -
As others have said I wouldn’t do it at my house, I meet them somewhere. I don’t usually require a bill of sale, but I do tell them up front that they will be required to show me proof of age and that they are a Tennessee resident. It is illegal to sell to a minor or out of state resident.

Many years ago I could run a plate and get both owner info and driver’s license info on the owner. That’s how we caught many suspended/revoked drivers. Can they not do that today? -
They cleaned their weapons. The U.S. Military didn’t have non-corrosive ammo until 1947. Most of the WWII weapons survived because they were cleaned. Corrosive ammo has a longer shelf life than non-corrosive. Many countries are still making corrosive ammo today, and that ammo is being marked non-corrosive and sold in the U.S. It wasn’t until recently that it became popular with a few to shoot weapons to failure without ever cleaning them, and then post about it on the internet, and of course blame it on something other than not properly maintaining their weapons. People are going to justify anything to shoot cheap ammo. Look at how many shoot steel case lacquer coated ammo and refuse to acknowledge that it damages the rifle. Why? Because it’s cheap. I wouldn’t shoot corrosive ammo in my Garand or Remington 700, but I wouldn’t be afraid to shoot in in an AK or SKS because of my cleaning practices. Steel case I wouldn’t shoot in anything.

If some dumbazz Judge doesn’t allow him bail and he goes back to wherever he came from.

Thats a shame. I wonder if anyone “directed†her to preapare to protect herself, because the cops only deal with the aftremath. I hate that they call it an “Order of Protectionâ€, I hated it as a cop and I hate it now.

No, I said exactly what I meant to say. Did I say or mention AutoCAD? NO, I said CAD/CAM, do you know the difference? Ignorant is calling out people that have been in their respective businesses longer than you have been alive on a topic you know nothing about. I could probably find a CAD program that would run on my DROID or on an iPad; that doesn’t mean it’s being used in the Engineering or manufacturing world.
-
Do you work in Engineering? Do you use any CAD systems or do any CAM programming? Do you have to set-up or use any communications with machine tools? Of course you don’t, or you wouldn’t have posted something like that. Why would you even make a statement like that, which clearly shows you are clueless about the field? Because you did a Google search? Roll those eyes and check back with us when you get out of school and have some experience.

Gun Runners Said I Broke Some Kind Of Record With NICS Overturn.....
DaveTN replied to a topic in General Chat
I was turned down twice, but both times it was approved 4 days later. Without going into all the details, the info the TBI was giving me was wrong. I decided to spent 30 bucks and apply for my C&R through the ATF. They sent me a letter saying there was a problem, and I called them. They told me it was a problem with what the Federal NICS was showing. They told me how to fix it; I did that and haven’t had any problems since. -

NICS could be where the info came from. -

They won’t send you anything. You can call the TBI, but I didn’t get good info from them. ATF ended up telling me what was going on; then I got it fixed. -
It may not be a matter of which ones better, it’s more a question of what you want to do with it. If it’s just a general use computer; it won’t matter. For example; if you are a heavy graphics user you might want a MAC, if you are a heavy CAD/CAM user you can’t use a MAC.

I’m armed, properly trained, and I refuse to live in fear. I would have gone to the door, but I’m not letting anyone I don’t know in for any reason.
