Wake up guys. The dope, illegals, and contraband is moving North from Mexico; not the other way around. Mexican law enforcement and politicians are corrupt to the very top. They aren’t working with the ATF, DEA and our Military unless they are getting paid. I want to know how much of my tax dollars are being used to pay off Mexican officials and who it’s going to. That dumb azz Clinton makes statements that are ignorant beyond belief and all of a sudden the Americans are the bad guys. You would have to have an IQ lower than your age to believe this crap.

There are plenty of threads on here about it, but it’s almost impossible anymore unless you want to open a real gun store. First thing is to check your city codes. That stops you right there in many cities from having it in your home. An FFL only costs $200; most of us would have one if it was as simple as buying one; I know I would.

This guy was arrested in early September by the Mexicans who were directed to him by ATF. Where is he now? Are grenade casings illegal to have? The stories say he bought them in stores and off the internet. Other than media drama value what does this have to do with the gun walking case? Almost anything could be a "Grenade casing".

Under federal law there is. I’m a former cop but didn’t retire, so I don’t have any standing under the LEOSA that allows retired Officers to carry. It is my understanding that even after retiring you still have to qualify with the Department you retired from. I don’t know about Tennessee law. He’s retired from Memphis PD, so maybe he didn’t want to deal with the qualification requirements.

A thread will go on for pages when a cop tries to protect or justify something a bad cop did; we all feel that if they do that they are bad cops and should be fired. Same thing here only worse; he’s not a law enforcer, he’s a law maker. I would not even attempt to justify or minimize what he did. He didn’t kill anyone while driving drunk because he was stopped by the Police. He didn’t do anything stupid with the gun for the same reason. The press didn’t make this up; he gave this story to them on a silver platter. Just as when the President of MADD was arrested for drunk driving. The gun wasn’t “Stowed awayâ€. According to the story it was between the seat and center console; that’s a readily accessible carry position. I’m not the DA or a juror so my opinion doesn’t matter, but from looking at his booking photo and the statements by the cops; he was wasted. But he’ll either get his day in court or get an opportunity to make a plea deal. Make us all look bad? Trying to make excuses for this clown or whine about the media running with this story makes us all look bad.

Look closely at that web address. It’s a scam to harvest names and emails. Internet petitions are meaningless. -
Tennessee Firearms Task Force Cancelled For Now
DaveTN replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Did you guys see his booking photo? I can imagine what the video is like. I don’t see this going to court; I see a plea agreement. -
The Officers did nothing wrong in the McNair case. You can ask someone as many times as you want to take a breath test. It is a violation of law to refuse (Implied Consent), and you do not have a right to remain silent during the field sobriety test (that is considered a refusal). The Defense argued that the cop was “looking†for McNair because he had been told he was driving drunk. Absolutely the cop was looking for McNair. He had been advised that McNair was drunk and got in his car and drove away. He didn’t need probable cause to pull McNair over; he already had it. Not only did he have probable cause to pull him over, he had a duty to the public to do so. Of course the DA didn’t make that argument because he wanted to let McNair go. That’s why he didn’t appeal the ruling. The only mistake the cop made was thinking he could hold Nashville’s Golden Boy to the same standard you or I would be held to.

It’s been almost three years; he probably has it figured out by now.

I try to buy from forum dealers. Before I buy I send them an email or PM and ask them if they have what I want or if they can get it, and a price. Sometimes that works, sometimes they don’t even respond back, and sometimes they give me a price that makes me laugh. The last three guns I bought from Buds or CDNN were because the forum dealers didn’t have them. I use a shop that doesn’t stock many guns, but apparently does a pretty good transfer business. If I email him and he can get it for me at a decent price; I do that and don’t have a transfer fee. I can’t blame these gun dealers for not wanting to do transfers. And they can’t make $25 on a gun sale and keep a store open with employees.

You talking about McNair? The Judge dismissed charges against McNair after he viewed a dash cam video and said he didn’t think McNair was weaving enough to be pulled over. The DA refused to appeal. This was all after McNair blew a .16 BAC and went on TV and admitted he was drunk. It was “lack of procedure†all right, but the “procedure†was in the courtroom; not the street. I doubt this guy has the kind of political power of the money to make that kind of ruling happen.

Buying 30 lowers at a time would be an easy way to make yourself a target for the ATF as an illegal gun dealer.

The Constituion does give us a voice.
DaveTN replied to wjh2657's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Our founding Fathers were never so arrogant as to think they had all the answers or that the Constitution was written in stone. Of course they expected it to be changed and they expected its meaning to be questioned. Thats why they put in place a system to both change it and interpret it throughout the ages. -
Is ‘Project Gunwalker’ about to bust wide open?
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I’ve said that on here all along. She made stupid statements about how 80% of the guns used in crimes in Mexico came from the U.S. I still don’t buy most of this. That picture at the home of Ciudad Juarez was a little to convenient and looked staged. No one was there? Most of the guns in that picture appear to be AK’s. AK’s are not made here. And why would drug cartels pay high prices for neutered AK’s bought here in gun stores when they could buy the real deal from other sources? I think the only thing driving this now is the fact some many gun owners will jump on any hint of the ATF doing something wrong and see it as a way to get some of them fired. It causes them to lose perspective. It apperas they (The White House) may be preparing Holder to be the sacrificial lamb in this. However, I still think this will just be a lot noise unless they need someone to fall on their sword to protect Hillary or Obama. -
30-06 Springfield in Enbloc clips for a Garand. AP is controlled in some states, just be careful if you ship it. Couple of buck apiece if you find someone that wants Armor Piercing.
-
I’m not asking what the dealer charges, I’m asking what the state charges the dealers. I assume the dealers pay the state for each background check? I doubt TBI does anything without their hand out.
