The M&P has been accepted by a lot of departments, and there are still a lot of the older S&W’s still in use. They could possibly be #1. But anyone can claim anything, that information isn’t available and the manufactures won’t release sales numbers.

Some people bad mouth the cops every chance they get claiming that they are violating people rights. Then they suggest just that for fixing the gang problem. The cops don’t need help or triggermen to fix the problem. They also don’t need to violate the Constitution to take out the gang bangers. Our founding fathers never meant for the Constitution to be twisted the way it has been to protect criminals. We have two problems the people and the courts. We wouldn’t have problems dealing with the gangs if it wasn’t for Judges trying to make a name for themselves in court rulings, and would rule the way our founding fathers would have wanted. The people. I took part in a thread here where a Judge let an 8 time DUI offender walk because an Officer turned on her overheads as she approached his vehicle in a parking lot. It was a ridiculous decision but some seem to think that anything that ties the hands of the Police or will allow them out of a situation they may find themselves in is okay. It’s pretty easy to say you are willing to take on gang bangers face to face when you know it won’t happen. Want to do that? Then go see if you have what it takes to become a cop. Untie the hands of the Police.

I don’t care who allowed guns to go to Mexico. I don’t care who initiated it, I don’t care who knew about it. Obama, Holder, Melson… I don’t care. It was an operation that didn’t turn out the way it was planned. Boo freakin†hoo. Mexican Politicians and Police are bunch of lawless thugs that will do anything for money. I don’t have any respect for Obama, but I might be able to muster a little bit if he would grow a sack and tell the Mexican president along with the U.S. Senators and Congressmen that are taking part in this witch hunt, to go pound sand. We have to fight for every little gun privilege we have, yet some who claim to be pro-gun want to whine about the AFT allowing some straw purchases. I commend them for at least trying something. Oh, did I mention…. I just don’t care.

He is an active shooter that just killed a guy and he is still an immediate active threat; a cop could shoot him, I don’t know why the employee couldn’t….. but you just never know anymore.

If you are going to run a heater, have a dedicated line from the panel. Space heaters burn down a lot of houses without tripping the breaker.

I don’t know Larry, but he gets a lot of my money. With my C&R he has some pretty good prices on scopes.

Setting in the ghetto is racial profiling. That’s not allowed.

Come on Mike, they are just misunderstood.

Yep. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard “you need a warrantâ€. Or, my Father/Sister/Uncle/whatever is a lawyer and they say you can’t search my vehicle, from people right before I put the cuffs on them and took them to jail. I would have liked to have heard the conversation with their lawyer relative when they figure out that a cop rarely needs a warrant to search a for a vehicle. My son came in one day and announced “Our teacher told us the Police need a warrant to search your car, is that true?†We sat down and a long conversation about surviving a traffic stop. I tried to make his teacher not sound like he was clueless, but he was. But again… you have to do what you are ready to take responsibility for because it isn’t going to come back on anyone but you.

Is there a TGO discount?

Doesn’t seem to have sunk in yet. Just digging deeper.

Then what on earth could have possessed you to type that response? If someone doesn’t know how or why a local brick and mortar store would charge $147 more on a $4K rifle than the largest gun dealer on the internet, you would risk losing valuable customers by sending an email like that? It’s shameful to see this happening on this forum. I think this is childish on both your parts, unfortunately for you it could impact your sales.

It happens. If you are clean you have no worries in refusing, if you aren’t your day may have just got real bad.

I don’t remember the name of the SCOTUS checkpoint case, but I believe it was out of Minnesota. DUI checkpoints don’t have to stop every car, they can stop every fifth car; they just can’t pick and choose based on what looks good. But I don’t have any experience with that, our department didn’t do check points or road blocks. It appears the TSA is targeting trucks at weigh stations; I believe they are subject to inspection. I don’t believe they would have any authority to randomly stop vehicles on the roadway, but I’m sure the Homeland Security Act or whatever authority they operate under has many surprises.
-
Oh sure, if you don’t have anything in your car, haven’t been drinking, and aren’t a known criminal you can tell them whatever you like. But the chance of them asking you to search under those circumstances is pretty rare. I was addressing the “Always refuse a search†statements for those that aren’t living at the foot of the cross like you and I.

If I had to call for a dog, I was getting a back-up unit sent until the dog could get there and probably whatever Command Officer was on the street. At that point discretion and negotiations are pretty much over. That was part of my point of saying that if you have something in the car, you have just a couple of minutes to make decisions that could impact your life. The cops are going home, the dog gets a treat and you will either go home or to jail based on the decisions you made.

This reminds me of the video the lawyers made telling people to get out of their cars and lock the doors on a traffic stop. It ends with three kids that had a bag of weed high fiving and driving down the road. I’m thinking…. My stop would have involved a dog, three kids in handcuffs and a car on the back of a tow truck. Being stupid should hurt.

I would be curious to see the shop owner’s comments on this. I wonder if he did it or it was an employee?

6000 tables? I’ve been to that show a couple of times; I must have missed about 5000 tables. -
And I believe that is why the SCOTUS didn’t follow the ruling of almost every Federal District Court in that the 2nd amendment isn’t an individual right. Had they done that it would open the door for states to outlaw gun ownership. On the other hand ruling that you can carry a gun would have violated States Rights and the states would have never stood for it. Therefore, they ruled that you have a right to own guns, but they allow the states to decide how, when and where they will be carried. I believe I have a right to carry a gun. I do not tie that right to the 2nd amendment. Obviously the courts do not agree with me.
-
Obviously, once they have found something illegal, you can’t stop the search; they now have PC. They can search anywhere the item they are searching for could be. There are very few hard and fast rules on searches. Judges will rule on the admissibility of evidence prior to trial. Vehicle searches generally are a result of two causes; plain view, and inventory searches prior to towing or impounding.

The SCOTUS held that DUI checkpoints are “reasonable†under the 4th amendment because they catch drunk drivers. For the TSA to rely on that decision they would need to show they are arresting terrorists. My concern is why the TSA? Is THP, County and City Police Departments not doing their jobs? I would be interested to hear what Chief Anderson and the head of THP has to say.
-
Many people overlook the fact that the 2nd amendment keeps the federal government from disarming Law Enforcement and State military units.

You have plenty to lose. I’ve dumped out a small amount of pot with people that were cooperative and I’ve arrested and towed the vehicles of those that were not. I’ve called the parents of kids in possession of alcohol and released them to their parents without charges that were cooperative, and I’ve arrested those that were uncooperative. It’s up to you. The cop and the people giving you advice are going to go home unaffected. You and you alone are going to deal with the consequences of the decisions you make. A DUI or a drug charge can impact a kid for life. Yes, some people have something to lose.
