  1. Oh I know something is going to happen. As soon as the DA makes his decision the ORPD Chief will make his. But one is not bound by the other. The DA will decide if he has evidence to get a criminal conviction; he does or he doesn’t. The ORPD Chief has to decide if the Officers did anything wrong; but he is not bound by criminal law. I also know this thread is going to go wild when a decision is made; no matter which way it goes. Has anyone from the press contacted the DA’s office to see if they have made a decision? Either they haven’t or he hasn’t made a decision yet.
  2. The USSR didn’t want to destroy us. They said they would take over the US without firing a shot. They didn’t get the job done, but China and Japan are on-track to try. And the majority of Americans are willing to hand it over to them with a smile.
  3. Yes, it’s always the first thing that is brought up in these scenarios. The U.S. District Court issued an injunction to stop it, 22 states and the Federal government passed legislation making sure it won’t happen again. I also saw video of two Police Officers in uniform looting stores; that doesn’t mean all cops were doing it. You will have all kinds of people out of control in a disaster. The Police and National Guard that could find nothing better to do in a disaster like that are criminals anyway.
  4. No one would follow the order (they can’t) and then congress would impeach him. I’m always surprised at the people that think during the collapse of a government the Military or Police will have nothing to do but come knocking on their door to get their guns.

    1911 Noob Question

Pay particular attention on how to remove and insert the slide stop. Don’t rotate it and drag it on the side of the frame. Plenty of 1911’s out there with “idiot marks†on them. There are plenty of instructions and videos on the net on how to do it. Your manual should have good instructions.
  7. Those that want to do away with voter ID laws want illegals to be able to vote.
  8. Excellent videos. These videos you are posting should give us something to think about and practice at the range instead of just blowing up ammo. So many think that just being able to pull a gun means the good guy wins. If the bad guy has better skills and equipment than you; you die.
  9. If the President is elected on the issues, Jobs and the economy will be the deciding factor. However, I believe the President will be elected based on social welfare programs and whether or not he is a minority. Anyone that is a serious contender will be supportive of background checks. Your state politicians will be more key in deciding what the guns laws will be. Of course Obama would like to reinstate the assault weapons ban, but it has to have a new name. Maybe they can call it something more innocent sounding like…. CIFTA. We need jobs, we need our manufacturing base back, and we need a President that can help make that happen to get our economy back on track. I believe that the poor, the minorities, and the Democrats are more united and more focused on what they want, and will vote that way. They want government handouts, free medical care, big government to give them jobs they couldn’t qualify for in the private sector, and gun control. The middle and upper class republicans tend to get split on the candidates and can’t maintain focus or even decide what the most important issues are. I will vote for whoever I think can help our economy recover and put Americans back to work. I don’t care if he has a gun with a slash tattooed on his forehead.
  10. Entrapment is when a cop entices someone to commit a crime they normally wouldn’t commit. Drunks don’t need enticement to drive drunk and they are more than willing to break the law. Sitting across the street from a bar is fine as long as the Officer has probable cause to stop the cars they stop. Staggering out of a bar and getting in a car is probable cause for a stop, and in most states you don’t even have to wait for them to start the car.
  11. OJ is in prison and Michael is dead. I don’t see a bright future for this gal either.
  12. Free or not. What the best app for a Droid 3? Just using the standard web browser I have to keep resizing and even then have trouble picking things like “Quick Links†and “subscribed Threadsâ€. Also, how does your recommendation work with the new software David is going to go to?
  13. Very good videos. Since you ask what we think, I think the third video is spot on about how to do a defensive shooting reload. The first two are for competition shooters. I believe that you will react in the same way you train. Juggling two magazines may be something you want to do at the range target shooting, but it’s not something you want to do in a SD shooting. You should be able to separate the two types of training in your mind when you are doing them. If you have time to swap out a partial magazine and empty your second mag, and are still alive, you will probably have time to pick the first mag up and use it. I don’t have any stats on this but I would think the chances of having to do that would be less than winning Power Ball. My mag is dropping clear of the weapon with a push of the button, second mag is then loaded. This should be practiced until it is fluid and can be done without fumbling, looking at the gun or mag, and without worrying about the first mag.
  14. I don’t buy for one second that Ventura is in Mexico totally out of touch with the rest of the world…. This 2012. They are probably all involved in this together to create a bunch of drama and keep their names in the spotlight.
  15. I bought them both at the same time. I previously had purchased a full size when they first hit the market, sold it and bought a compact, and then sold it. I wanted them back and bought both because they were on sale and I also got an additional discount for buying both. If I could only have one it would be the full-size. 15 rounds of .40S&W is devastating in a size that still can be concealed (for a large handgun). The compact is smaller, but it’s the thickness and the grip length that make for concealability, not the barrel length. So I think if I was going to have the same thickness and grip length as a full-size; I would opt for the longer barrel. I thought I would carry the compact more than I do. But it (or any of the Tupperware guns in that size) isn’t really what I consider highly concealable. I carry a J-frame or I just got a Kahr MK40 for that role. I haven’t carried the Kahr yet though because I haven’t got holsters for it yet. I’ll add this, as unpopular as it is on here. I wanted the magazine disconnect on mine. With my experience working the streets I see it as a feature or a tool rather than the way it is perceived by many as a safety. But my dealer said he didn’t stock any because most of his customers didn’t want it. I still want it and may at some point sell mine to get it on both of mine.
  16. I chose both the fullsize and the compact in .40.
  17. I think the title fits; it could have been anyone of us. It was a tragedy. Of course since Police Officers were involved rush to judgment and ridiculous claims about training will be made. I doubt anyone was overreacting because they saw a gun, or because they were in New York; this could have happened anywhere. They were reacting because they heard the commotion of an armed robbery and saw two men fighting with guns involved; a shot was fired. (This had to come from the victim’s gun, as the perp had a pellet gun). The responding retired Officer shot the victim and moments later the off duty Officer that was with him; shot the perp. I know this, three people responded to a deadly threat; three Police Officers that felt a duty to act. Say what you want about guns but it ended badly because guns were involved. But it wasn’t because guns were involved or because three cops felt a need to act that caused the death of an innocent person. It was because James McGoey picked up a gun and decided to commit an armed robbery. He had done it before; this time it cost him his life. He had a long history of Pharmacy hold-ups; he shouldn’t have even been on the street. As Police Officers we learned from officer involved shootings. As HCP holders we should do the same. It’s just a shame that we don’t get the details that Officers get. Here’s part of what the victims brother had to say.
  18. I don’t blame him for taking off; I would have done the same thing. You can’t punch people out because you don’t like what they say. But apparently Jesse didn’t want charges pursued or the guy would be arrested. Running usually doesn’t work; but it appears to have worked for him.
  19. Practice Point Instinct Shooting when you aren’t target shooting. You may not have the ability or the time to get a sight picture in an SD shooting.
  20. Sure they can, if it’s a criminal complaint. But many won’t. You would have be a dumbazz to leave if the Police have been called.
  21. Yeah, but the people that will elect the next President aren’t on Twitter.
  22. I couldn’t do that to the dealer that handles my transfers. That’s why some FFL’s won’t do transfers. If there is something wrong with it; you deal with it after you get it. It isn’t their problem.
  23. It can be loaded safely and holstered before you go out. Most of us don’t carry a second magazine, so we couldn’t reload no matter how many hands we have. If I’m going to Memphis I have a full size M&P 40. If I need more than 15 rounds of .40 caliber; I’m hosed. It would be easier to conceal than your large frame Taurus revolver. I have a Smith & Wesson 2.5†K-frame (Model 66) modified to use moon-clips. I think I could reload it easily with one hand, but not fast. I also sometimes carry a 5-shot model 36 J-frame appendix carry. I have 5 shots and that’s it.... if I need six its game over. As a cop we had to do drills where we could only use one hand to shoot and reload.
