  1. Did you go during the old peoples times?
  2. The short answer is, I don’t think so, the thread pitch is different. The long answer is, maybe it could be done, but not at a cost less than a new barrel. A quick search with no verification, shows a P14 - Enfield is 1-1/8” X 10, and a Rem 700 is 1-1/16" x 16.
  3. If that story is true, and I find it hard to believe anyone that would have the authority in a large company, would do that; but it’s not impossible. I would say what they are saying they will do is illegal, and the Attorney General of Texas will step in soon and say so.
  4. I don't understand how that story applies??
  5. Search “Solvent Traps” and you will find many more. It is my understanding if you do the modifications yourself and submit the $200 fee with the proper paperwork to the BATF; you would be legal. If you don’t and you are caught using one; the costs will exceed the tens of thousands and there is a good possibility you will do prison time. While in my opinion, suppressor prices are ridiculous; they would be the cheaper route to go.
  6. That's pretty much whats being discussed now. Of course if he suggests it; he murdering war vets.
  7. This might help. https://www.knoxnews.com/story/entertainment/outdoors/2018/07/05/east-tennessee-fishing-spots-fort-loudoun-lake-cherokee-lake-watauga-reservoir/686928002/ http://www.outdoorknoxville.com/play/fishing/local-fishing-spots https://www.visitknoxville.com/blog/post/top-spots-around-knoxville-for-prime-bass-fishing/
  8. For Congress, yes. I can’t believe its 2020 and they don’t have that ability now.
  9. I also think Joe better watch out; Cuomo may be coming for him.
  10. Trump said what a good job Gavin Newsom, Andrew Cuomo, and Bill de Blasio was doing, and how he’s getting along well with them.
  11. It may take a month....or more. GM is partnering with Ventec Life Systems to build these. Everyone that needs ventilators right now has them; there is no shortage of ventilators. No one can possibly know how many will be needed, or if there will be enough available.
  12. I would guess its because some things like N95 masks have an expiration date. No one knew we would need a bazillion of them. Then you have the media showing their ignorance by thinking it was appalling that people were told to use the expired masks instead of reusing them, or not using them at all. I see a website that says “Premium or high-acuity ventilators — most commonly found in hospital ICUs — typically have a PSOL gas delivery design and can currently cost between $25,000 and $50,000. Factors that can contribute to this price range include user configurability options and built-in safety features.” The Whitehouse is kicking around the idea of General Motors and Ventec Life Systems building 80,000 of them for $1billion. (Or $12,500 each) We are already in an overpriced healthcare system. Now we will have to make hospitals have the capability to take hundreds or thousands of patients into their ICU’s? That’s not going to happen. We were no more prepared for this than we will be for a nuclear/dirty terrorist attack, or the huge Earthquakes the geologists have told us will happen when the San Andreas or New Madrid Faults start shifting. Its impossible to be prepared, when it comes with a price tag that can't be met.
  13. This doesn’t sound like an ammo shortage.
  14. My wife works at a food company. They are telling employees if they have a temperature; stay home. That’s now playing havoc with production. I think they need to identify who will work, and who won’t, and put some incentives in place. People that are willing to do what is needed is not limited to Police/Fire/Medical. They just might need to ask them to step up and let the others stay home.
  15. I try to watch the press conferences everyday. I know I shouldn’t be, but I’m continually surprised at how ignorant and immature the reporters are. Now they keep hammering that they “need a date” that everything will return to normal. Do they really think Trump controls that? Of course he plays them for the idiots they are. Deciding between safety (health) and economic collapse is a tough call to make. I don't think I'm any longer in the majority on this.
  16. Wrong thread
  17. I wouldn’t think it would be a good business at all. I don’t think most could compete with the big boys. But then, I have absolutely no desire to do it.
  18. So do I. I pay my taxes quarterly; I get a 1099. But I didn’t make over the limit, and I’m not claimed by someone else. So from what I understand I will get the payment, and it will be tax free.
  19. Coronavirus Outbreak Sidelines Aircraft Carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt https://news.usni.org/2020/03/26/coronavirus-outbreak-sidelines-aircraft-carrier-uss-theodore-roosevelt I suspect once they clear crews on these war ships; they will send them out with no port calls.
  20. Unless you made over the limit; you should get a deposit.
  21. And we all thank you. Truck drivers are a very import part of this issue, and our ability to eat. But you can rest assured the day this is over, we will be back to hating you and flipping you off.
  22. Maybe not, but the .308, just like in the ammo world, far surpasses anything else up there.
  23. https://www.tn.gov/safety/tdoshscovid19.html As of yesterday DL facilities were still processing handgun permits. I would assume that means the office that they go to is still working; but you know what happens when you assume. “The requirement that new Tennessee residents obtaining a Tennessee driver license within 30 days of becoming a resident has been extended to June 17, 2020” No extensions on that requirement are posted for handgun permits. I don’t know if that’s because they haven’t addressed it yet, or if they will. You can have a gun in your car without a permit. So its anyone’s guess if it became an issue out of your car. As a former cop I would say that would depend on how and why the gun became an issue.
  24. Couldn’t you pull that bullet out of your front shirt pocket and load it?
