  1. Defend her from what….someone raising their voice to her? You can be all the bad azz SOB you want to be, but when that goes from talking smack, letting everyone in the area know how bad you are, to laying hands on someone; you crossed the line. That appears that may be what happened here and the guy was hauled off to jail. I can see an oil painting of someone raising their voice to my wife in a checkout line. I’ll be able to stand back, cross my arms, and watch the entertainment.
  2. Between the time the Bill of Rights was written and now, we had a major event in this country; the Civil War. The war was fought over States Rights. Although the side that was fighting for States Rights lost that war; all Americans learned from it and never want to go that route again. That is why the SCOTUS has ruled they way they have. You have a right to keep arms, but the state will control where and when you bear arms. Obama hasn’t done anything to take away your guns. He would, but he can’t. Thinking that he can will only result in the same BS we had last election with the price of guns and ammo going through the roof. Your gun rights will be decided by your Tennessee State Legislators. Pay attention to who you vote for here. The state of Tennessee recognizes your second amendment rights no more than the state of Illinois. Paying the state to be able to carry a gun is not a rights; it’s a privilege and nothing to do with the 2nd amendment or the United States Constitution. We are free because of the American people and American Patriots. We are losing our freedoms because Patriots are few and far between anymore. Our country is filled will sell-outs that don’t care about their country as long as they have cheap junk to buy. This Presidential election will be about the economy and jobs. If our economy fails; the Constitution and the 2nd amendment will be meaningless.
  3. I’ve never seen a verifiable claim of someone being charged with carrying past a sign. So I would say being disciplined for violating company policy would be your biggest concern.
  4. Baby steps. Now that you have seen the error in your ways and stepped up from Taurus to Glock; soon you will be ready for the next logical step…. M&P.
  5. This guy is dumber than a box of rocks. “I’m not going†“a fire fight ensuedâ€. I’m not an attorney but would offer this advice… Quit posting your mindless ramblings on the internet before you end up dead or in prison. All these videos will be used against you. (Could be why he can't get an attorney to help him.)
  6. Boils down to the fact that interpretations of the law and company policy are decided by the guy at the counter. I sold a gun to a forum member and then couldn’t get it shipped; I had to drive it to him. I only do local sales now.
  7. Your disposition isn’t showing. Call, or have someone go to the Clerk of the Courts office where the charges were filed. Explain to them that the dismissal (Disposition) isn’t showing up in the system and ask if they can reenter it. Ask them if they can send you a couple of notarized copies of the court records showing the dismissal. You can spend the money to have it expunged if you like, but if the charges were dismissed it really isn’t necessary; the arrest can still show.
  8. Anyone have one yet? How is the accuracy? I was really bummed that they aren’t made here. Maybe a USA version will be offered.
  9. I don’t see that option in the settings, is it gone?
  10. Wow…. Two agents down during a performance evaluation. http://latimesblogs....n-fbi-says.html
  11. This. And the fact that the cop is not on suspension while the investigation is in progress tells me that the evidence doesn’t support the arrested man’s version, or even that a gun was pulled. Although all of this is mere speculation based on a reporter getting one side of the story. But hey... its what we do.
  12. I’ve never seen the weapon or the ammunition be a factor in a criminal case involving a self-defense shooting; that’s internet hype. However a civil case is a free for all; they will try to use anything they can. If you are going to trial in a civil case in Tennessee on a self-defense shooting we have to assume there has been no ruling that your shooting was justified. If it’s a civil trial for an accidental or negligent shooting; everything will be thrown at you.
  13. Nope. There is no justification for pulling a gun during a verbal altercation in which you are a willing participant. Either shut your mouth and walk away or fight with your hands. This BS of “I was in fear of my life†doesn’t cut it; I don’t care if you’re a cop or an HCP holder. If you try to leave and the other person continues after you; the rules change.
  14. It can happen. Those numbers and times they are using supposedly come from an Army Technical Manual on the M-16. There are videos out there of it happening. If you fire hundreds of rounds quickly and then leave a round in the chamber; it can cook off. I don’t leave a round in the chamber after a single mag dump.
  15. I’d like to hear the checkers side of the story. They had to see and hear what went on. I have to assume the responding Officers talked to them or other wittnesses before arresting this guy.
  16. It’s not about legal requirements; it’s about saving the life of the victim (if there is one). What’s the bad guy going to be doing while all this gun pulling is going on? None of us are suggesting we would simply stand by and watch him drive away. If the bad guy drops you in the dirt and drives off; you haven’t helped anyone and you have died for nothing. I’m one of the few on here that doesn’t believe the mere act of pulling a weapon is the use of deadly force or aggravated assault; both require more than that. But you have to ask yourself if the mere act of pulling a weapon will stop anything. What will you do if he tells you to screw off and gets in the car and drives away? While you are processing what you are seeing and wondering if you are justified in what you are doing, a hard core criminal may start shooting; he doesn’t have to worry about the law or justification. Many cops have died because of that. I think if some of us were there that know how to make things happen; she would have a pretty good chance of survival.
  17. I have a gun and a cell phone. My weapon of choice in this scenario would be a cell phone and keeping the vehicle in sight until cops got it stopped. If I was a cop I would approach the driver, identify myself and see what’s going on. Whether or not I pulled a gun would depend on his actions.
  18. No he wasn’t a law abiding citizen; if that was the case the young woman would not be in the hospital. Does Florida not have laws against reckless or negligent acts? He hasn’t been charged yet, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be; he needs to go to jail. He will almost certainly he destroyed financially from the civil case. Carrying a firearm is a tremendous responsibility. If someone gets shot because you un-holstered your weapon; it’s on you. ND/AD both exist. Whether someone pulled the trigger or a mechanical malfunction (like a slam fire) caused the discharged will not matter to some of those that defend the gun no matter what, there are AD’s. If you drop the slide and have an AD and it goes through the floor or ricochets off and kills someone it becomes an ND. If you decided to do your own trigger jobs, drop in triggers, or otherwise Bubba a carry gun, or buy a gun that is notorious for mechanical failures; you may well find yourself in jail or in civil court. Of course remember it’s impossible for a mechanical device to fail; you must pull the trigger. (See how stupid that sounds when you see it in print) So if it ever happens to you, you will know that you pulled the trigger.
  19. It’s nonsense. Instead of passing a resolution stating the states stand on NDAA; let’s introduce a bill filled with threats that we can’t back up. Kidnapping…. That’s ridiculous.
  20. I can turn cash into piles of empty brass fast enough without needing something like that. Almost $400 to bump fire? …I’ll pass.
  21. That’s Jerry Miculek, and he doesn’t use heavily modified guns. Most of the time he is using a Smith & Wesson Model 625. He’s pretty amazing and I would bet he could come close to those times with an out of the box gun. Action jobs on revolvers are not hard to do, and cost nothing. Miculek makes a video that will show you how. I wouldn’t do it to a carry gun, but I’ve made some competition guns pretty slick.
  22. Some here are no smarter than the people they are making fun of. It’s not a “magazine safetyâ€, it’s a magazine disconnect. Would it have saved this young woman? Yes, but that is not its purpose. Some manufacturers, like S&W with the M&P, offer their guns with or without it. If you think it was designed to make it a “lawyer gun†then you are free to buy one without it. If you think it may be beneficial for your carry application; it is available. No need to argue about it; buy what you like. Prayers go out to this young woman. Only Gods hand could protect her from someone stupid enough to pull the trigger on a loaded gun.
  23. Apparently all the hogs haven’t got the memo. http://www.ktvu.com/...fter-wil/nDTK2/ http://www.spiegel.d...,583377,00.html
  24. If a Doctor, Cop or hospital worker wants to talk guns with me; we are going to talk. I have absolutely no fear that I am going to find myself in a mental hospital for observation. And I doubt that’s what happened here either. But it does make a good story doesn’t it?
  25. Some local stores are going to be priced better than gun shows; like G&L. I have bought from them and they came close to what I could do on-line, but they are a two hour trip for me. My local dealer would probably get all my gun business if I had a dealer like G&L close by. The gun shows are as high, or higher than some stores. But it depends on where you are. There is nothing with decent pricing around Murfreesboro. I have ordered the last few new ones on-line from Buds or CDNN. I bought new for much less than in-store and in some cases about the same as used. I get them in three days. I use to buy a lot of used. But in the last few years used prices are crazy. Out of the last five I think I bought one used. I post first it the WTB section here, but that hasn’t helped much lately. Why would someone pay new price for used?
