  1. Choosing to take up this issue on an “Invasion of Privacy†or “Surrender of Rights†platform is no different than the anti’s saying that we (those that carry) may harm someone or cause crime rates to rise. One may happen in limited cases, the other is fiction. Gun owners that were legally carrying with permits have shot innocent citizens and murdered Police Officers. Should we outlaw all carry permits because of that? I think not. Some people see any search as a violation. That was not the intent of the 4th amendment and protecting criminals certainly was not the intent of our founding Fathers. Search subsequent to an arrest, plain view, and exigent circumstances, are all present in this case. I don’t see how an Officer could have much better probable cause. However, when you have been sentenced to 10 years in prison and the state is providing legal assistance; you can file this kind of non-sense.
  2. You don’t see any difference in searching a suspect that has just been arrested dealing drugs in an undercover buy and searching a law abiding citizens that is not suspected of any crime but merely wants to get on an airplane?
  3. You can’t tie the hands of law enforcement on what someone may do any more than you can arrest someone for something they may do. All evidence whether obtained in what we (the public) feel was a “justified†search or not will be challenged in court by the defense and will be ruled on by a Judge. That’s one of the reasons we have Judges; cops make the decision to search in minutes and then the system takes weeks or months to debate whether they made the right decision or not. The fact that a search is thrown out doesn’t mean the cop is bad or had ill intent. As technology progresses it will be tested in the courts. You see accessing a drug dealers cell phone to get the number so you can get a warrant for the records as a violation; I see it as good Police work that put at least one street thug in jail for 10 years. Could someone use their wild imagination to think up a scenario where innocent citizens’ rights could be violated? Sure, but that will be dealt with when it happens.
  4. The 4th amendment protects you from “unreasonable searches and seizuresâ€. I searched hundreds of cars without a warrant. Houses are harder, but given “Plain Viewâ€, being called there, etc.; warrants aren’t always needed for them either. They weren’t Rummaging through his phone to see what they could find; they accessed it to get the phone number, they then subpoenaed the call records. They successfully made an argument that evidence could be destroyed. Being a criminal is not always fair; the good guys won one. No rights were trampled. Here’s the case if anyone wants to read it….. http://www.abajourna.../CellPhones.pdf It will take the SCOTUS to define the limits of a cell phone “searchâ€.
  5. Nissan Smyrna is a foreign trade zone. I wonder what impact that will have if this legislation passes.
  6. It would still be open to interpretation of the courts. Oklahoma is the 10th Federal District and Florida is the 11th ; we are in the 6th. So unless one of those has been to the SCOTUS; they don’t impact us.
  7. Four people were there and went along with this…. Wow.
  8. I would agree with you if the state recognized a right to carry. But they don’t; it’s a crime. It doesn’t bother you that the state wants to drive something down the throat of an employer that they won’t even allow for all citizens? Being a Right to Work state has nothing to do with this; being an “Employment at Will†state does. As far as the “Liberal†name calling to try to drive home your point…. Property owners control their property…period. That is a Conservative view. Allowing only those that have paid the state for the privilege while telling the rest of the citizens to go pound sand is a liberal view.
  9. When I click on the mark for the drop menu it only goes down a little below the text box. It just started doing this early this morning. Here’s what it looks like………
  10. She smiles every time you click on that link or send her an email. We all know her stand; no need to read it again.

It’s staked (probably in two places), remove some of the staking. You will need a good stock wrench. If you don’t have a good wrench and a way to hold the lower; take it to someone.
  12. I know I got some special privileges when I bought my privileges from the state. But did I get some rights also? Is it fair to restrict an HCP holder? Yes. If it isn’t a right of a citizen to carry a gun back and forth to work, then no rights are involved.
  13. Exactly. This isn’t about the 2nd amendment; it’s about states’ rights. You can put whoever you like on the SC; you still aren’t going to get a ruling that allows citizens to strap on guns and walk around if the state doesn’t want it. The Feds and the SCOTUS isn’t stopping the state of Tennessee from acknowledging the right to bear arms. They have put their stamp of approval on it. It’s our state legislators that refuse to recognize it.
  14. If you acknowledge a right to bear arms; there is no need for a licensing system; it would be illegal. You been asleep the last couple of years Judge?
  15. The term LEO is used fast and loose. I saw one guy that said he was a LEO and when asked point blank if he was a Police Officer he said he worked IT for a Police department. Another that said he was a “LEO†was arguing procedures for traffic stops; turns out he was a dispatcher. Like DS said, some Sheriff’s departments put deputies in the jail before they go to Patrol. But they are hired as Deputies not Corrections Officers. Correction Officers aren’t cops. I don’t have anything against Corrections Officer or Dispatchers. I’ve worked in the jail, and I’ve had to fill in for Dispatchers. Dispatching is a tough job in a busy department. To me a “Law Enforcement Officer†is just that. But to some I guess any job in law enforcement gets that acronym. It’s just like with those claiming they were something in the military they were not. But like most things, those that lie about it are few and far between. It appears this guy was doing it to appear to have some credibility to help him steal people’s money.
  16. Mailing lists for gun accessory companies.
  17. Umm…. Because it’s happened to them? Being charged with carrying past a sign probably is near the top of the list of topics that generate chatter. I’m just curious if it’s ever happened. I talked to Murfreesboro cop and he said he’s never heard of it happening; they just tell people to leave, and if they don’t they are arrested for trespass. But he said he hasn’t heard of that happening either. I don’t look closely at doors when I enter buildings so it matters to me okay?
  18. http://www.tekonsha.....aspx?path=faqs Q. What angle doe the P3 have to be mounted at? A. The P3 must be mounted in the direction of travel and should be fairly level from side to side. Front to back the control can be mounted at any angle.
  19. I think anywhere you check you will find the Tekonsha P3 widely accepted. Mounting is my big concern. Time delay doesn’t matter how you mount it or if its level. But proportional controllers need to mounted solid and be pretty straight and level. I’m thinking about buying a new controller because I have an opening in my dash that I would like to use, but my controller (bought before this vehicle) won’t fit in. I’m thinking the P3 might fit. Mine is mounted under the dash and if I hit it getting in or out I have to readjust it. I also wouldn’t have quick access to the manual override if I needed it. Permanent mounting in the dash with good access to the controls would be great.
  20. Anyone been cited yet for carrying past a sign?
  21. Plus you could have a cook-out.
  22. I wanted a 12X8 HaulMark Low Hauler motorcycle trailer. At the time it had a list price of $4200. I found one locally and one in Alabama, but they had a $5200 price tag because they said they were “Special Order†items. I had been talking with one of the HaulMark CS guys about some questions I had. He called me back twice to see if I had found what I was looking for. On the second call I told him I hadn’t bought anything yet because I couldn’t find anyone that had one that wanted to sell it. I asked if he would sell direct and he said he can’t. He told me they had a couple of high volume dealers outside their manufacturing facilities that sold at pretty decent prices. He said, but one is in Florida and the other is in Indiana. I was making a trip to Illinois so Indiana wasn’t that far out of the way to save a grand. He gave me a contact name at Mobil Structures Incorporated in Elkhart, IN. I called him and ask if they had the trailer I was looking for. He said “I have four, how many do you need?†He was really great to deal with I ask if I needed to put down a deposit and he told me “No, just give me your name, how you want the trailer set-up, and the date and time you will be here; your trailer will be ready.†I had some flush mounted tie-downs added to the floor and it was still only $4100 out the door. When I arrived the trailer was out in front ready for delivery. They hooked it up while I paid, I wasn’t there 20 minutes.
  23. I saved $1K on my trailer by buying it from a dealer outside the gates of the factory. It was a long trip, but I was going to be in the area anyway.
  24. Ya know…. I wonder if these people understand that while they have the right to post those videos, the state has the right to use them against them in court in either a criminal case or a mental competency hearing. Prosecutors must love YouTube. And for those of you (Liberals & Sheep) that don’t agree with this guy about this video; he made video number 80 “A final answer to my critics†just for you. I’m not going to post a link because it is not language appropriate, you know how to find it if you want more comedy.
