  1. I made my best deal on a new Silverado. After the numbers were crunched I handed them my GM MasterCard and reduced the amount to the tune of $4K. I repeated that with $3K on a Monte Carlo and $3K on a Suburban. This was before they reduced the amount you could use. I pay for everything with a credit card and don't carry a balance. I have the money to pay cash for everything I buy, but I can’t walk away from free cash like that. I use a Sears MasterCard now and just got a $500 gift card in the mail. Cash is not King anymore. I carry an awful lot of buying power, but don’t need to carry cash. I made an offer on a new gun to a local dealer at one of the gun shows. He accepted it and told the gal to take care of the paper work. She added 3% to my bill for using a credit card. I almost walked away, but I figured I would just let it go and not buy from them anymore. I didn’t pay a credit card fee at G&L, HG, FGS or on-line at CDNN. I do at Buds, but they are up front with it.
  2. Donate money to a bunch of bleeding heart liberals that are going to blame Americans for crimes the Mexican government created and is complicit in? I can see an oil painting of that. You guys, every dollar you give to these people whining about Fast & Furious is a dollar for gun control. They want to stop you from being able to walk into a gun shop and purchase an AK or an AR. They hope your hatred for the BATF will cause you to support them. Don’t fall for it.
  3. They said it’s a year warranty from the original purchase of the product. What does that tell you? My WAG is that they don’t want to come right out and say what happened and are willing to lose a customer instead of a vendor.
  4. Buds had the 40's at 3PM. At 6PM I went there and they are gone.
  5. Matching as in the original gun? I’m curious to know how anyone could know that.
  6. Yes, but Holder and Obama openly protecting him will be his downfall.
  7. Malik Zulu Shabazz should be in prison by the time the elections roll around.

    "Porting" a 357

Porting is usually done on a sinker EDM machine, so it doesn’t matter how hard the barrel is.
  9. Deny any involvement and tell a story about a stranger with dreadlocks. If that doesn’t work start throwing around terms like “Stand Your Groundâ€, “Make My Day†or “Castle Doctrineâ€.
  10. This will be misunderstood and people will be charged with felonies… or worse. This addresses illegal entry by the Police; not what the homeowner perceives as illegal entry. Whether or not the entry was legal will be decided in a courtroom; not in a doorway.
  11. I don’t reload, but wouldn’t carry hand loads if I did. It’s considered a bad thing because of reliability, not lawsuits. Someone will have to show me a criminal case that was filed in this state based on ammo. If I’m justified in shooting someone, I’m justified whether I used a .22 or a .50 cal. If you find yourself in a criminal trial, chances are you have bigger problems than ammo. Civil cases are a whole different story. But you can be sued civilly for anything. In Tennessee if you haven’t already been through a criminal trial the court is supposed to look at whether or not you were justified in the use of deadly force. If your justified it should end there, if you weren’t it will become a free for all.
  12. I’m really not against the cameras. City’s need money to operate and they are going to get it one way or another. I’m a property owner and I would be fine with them getting it from people that can’t drive and people that don’t pay their fines instead of getting it from raising my property taxes. The more jobs and businesses we lose, the more money they are going to want form me. Red light cameras and unmanned radar cameras aren’t about policing, safety, or traffic enforcement; they are simply about revenue generation. Scanning plates to check warrants is just a tool for Policing. A high speed, low drag tool. Anything can be abused. You deal with it when it happens. My vehicle will call for help if I’m in an accident….. I love technology. And by the way….. Have those cameras take pictures of people driving and talking on cell phones and mail them a ticket also.
  13. He put a mask over his face and pointed a gun at people he was robbing. The cops didn’t shoot him the victim did. So I doubt anyone will weigh in; there is no money in it.
  14. FFL’s are bound by Federal law. Isn’t it Federal law that requires a background check? The state could get a piece of the action on private sales if they wanted to, but they haven’t…. yet.
  15. Going to court costs money. All you will do is spend time and money and the store owner will do what’s right to settle. I suspect when he gets to talk to the store owner or manager there will be a successful conclusion. However, I can’t understand why there is no one in the store that can make such a minor decision without the approval of the owner or manager. This is 2012; decision makers are always in contact with employees of their stores, no matter where they are.
  16. I doubt many here are “Anti-Paulâ€. If he could emerge from the RNC as the republican candidate over Romney; that would be great. Point is; whoever emerges as the GOP candidate needs us to be united behind them. Voting for a third party candidate or not voting will help insure four more years of Obama. I’m sure the White House is praying Paul runs as an independent; but I doubt he will. I’m ashamed that the GOP couldn’t find any candidates better suited to give the conservative Americans what they want.
  17. Tennessee would have to become the 5th state to recognize constitutional carry. You can’t make a very convincing rights argument when the state sees carrying a gun as a crime.
  18. You could untie the hands of the cops and let them do their jobs. But anything that is suggested or implemented is seen by many as a violation of rights. But even if you let the cops operate as our founding fathers would have intended; you still have a problem. Where do you put them? Prisons are letting people out early and County jails are being threatened by the government for being above their allowed capacity. As our economy declines more cops and jails are needed, but there is less money available to pay them or build jails. I don’t think the news stations are being silent about it. The Nashville stations I watch report on the gang attacks and killings every night.
  19. “No one†gets us four more years of Obama. Ron Paul and all the other candidates are out and have no chance of getting the GOP nod, much less beating Obama. There are plenty of people out there that would make an excellent President; but none of them are running either. The people that support Obama are united. The Democrats will be making sure all their people vote and will be busing them to the polls. They only have one person to vote for. Romney wouldn’t be my first choice for President, but he would be 100 times better than Obama. Get on board with Romney. If the republicans split over issues; Obama wins.
  20. It’s just a tool to take criminals off the street. They are catching criminals that have warrants. But instead of an Officer checking individual plates he is using a computer that can do it much quicker. They are checking data that they already have access to. Catching people with traffic warrants might not be too glamorous, but catching a dangerous felon before he hurts one of your family members might be. Dangerous elusive people are taken down on traffic stops. If they have the technology to check a thousand cars as they drive by and pick out the ones with wants and warrants; more power to them. I would say though, that I would think it would keep the Officers pretty busy hauling people off to jail. I doubt it would take very long to get a hit.
  21. So what happened to him?
  22. Did you buy it as new? If it’s a rifle in demand it wouldn’t have been sitting in On-targets inventory for three years…. Would it? The manufacturer shouldn’t care when it was made; unless they are saying you are not the original purchaser.
  23. It's SOP in Franklin. This story is from 4 years ago. http://www.newschann...keep-roads-safe The message appears to be; don't drive into South Beach if you have warrants or plan on driving drunk or causing problems. It dosen't sound like they are messing around.
  24. In all counties in Tennessee with the exception of Davidson, the CLEO is the County Sheriff. In Davidson County it is the Chief of Police. Chief of Police Metropolitan Nashville Police Department 200 James Robertson Parkway Nashville, TN 37201
  25. You just experienced something you can’t reproduce in any training. Based on what you felt, imagine what it would have been like if you had come face to face with an armed gunman. I’m sure you are fine by now. I’m not a doctor or a shrink so all I can say is it appears to affect everyone differently. All I could do was sit, relax, and take deep breaths until I regained my composure. Then I went and had a few beers and talked it out with friends. That’s what worked for me anyway. Good thing you were smart enough to not open the door. As you reflect over that experience the next few days, it would be interesting to know if you make any decisions about your training, equipment or procedures. I know it wasn’t a home invasion, but it sounds like it could have turned into one in a matter of seconds. Were you as prepared as you thought you would be?
