  1. I apologize if I derailed the thread. TMF 18B used Zimmerman’s name and made reference to the Florida case when he started the thread, so I thought it would be okay.
  2. If they ever do they will cost less than a hundred bucks. Under the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act they are legal to manufacture and sell here to residents without the Feds being involved. Of course I doubt we will find a manufacturer, a dealer, and a buyer that want to test that.
  3. I use to be able to say 20.... until last year.
  4. I do to, but he didn’t take an azz whipping. What, the cut on the back of his head? I’ve cut myself worse shaving (Not on the back of my head though). I’m trying not to speculate; I’m looking at the facts that are not in dispute, and those facts show that Zimmerman started a confrontation that was not legally justified. Did Martian jump him and start beating his azz? We don’t know. The only other witness to this is dead. But what if he did? What if Martin saw the gun and was scared to death? Fight or flight. Maybe he thought he would get shot in the back if he ran and so he STOOD HIS GROUND AND FOUGHT. His hands were the only weapon he had, and that cost him his life because he was being pursued by a man who took out a gun a shot him to death. Mike I’m also not trying to argue with you or trying to disrespect you, I respect your opinion; I’m simply having a discussion.
  5. Also his use of those “buzz words†shows that he had a clear mind and knew what he was going to do. (Intent & State of Mind) These cases are showing that SYG laws do not create free fire zones. Stand Your Ground and No Duty to Retreat laws were enacted to protect innocent victims; not justify murder.
  6. How can you draw any kind of parallel between a person committing a felony and then pulling on gun on you to an innocent kid walking down the street being chased down and murdered? In your scenario you didn’t start the altercation that led to the justification for the use of deadly force, the criminal did when he made the decision to break into your wife’s car, and then pointing a gun at you. My apologies if I wasn’t clear. With all due respect; start posting your examples of where the shooter picked an innocent person walking down the street, started a confrontation, killed them, and a court ruled they were justified. I would imagine Zimmerman’s attorneys are looking for those cases also.
  7. I don’t ride anymore, but I watched the movie Secretariat (again) last night. I remember when he won the Triple Crown. Greatest race horse ever. Which has nothing to do with you going riding, but it just seemed appropriate for this thread.
  8. Respecting the authority has nothing to do with respecting the person, or them caring if they “earn†your respect. Some people have problems acknowledging any kind of authority. If a person comes to your home they may or may not respect you as a person, but they are going to respect your authority as the home owner, or they are going to leave. When I deal with a Military person or a Police Officer they don’t have to earn my respect; they have already done that by wearing the uniform. They can then do something that causes me to lose respect for them as a person, but I still respect their authority. I respect the authority of a business owner. I may not agree with the way he does business, but if that is the case I will not do business with him. I don’t pick up guns and start handling them without asking the owner’s permission, I also don’t pick up guns that I have no intention of buying; that is just courtesy. You are right, if someone is demanding your respect in a disrespectful way they probably don’t deserve it. Unless you are in the military and then we know how that goes.
  9. This. ^ People that know me know if I tell them something is sold; they can take that to the bank. Having buyer’s remorse or finding out your wife told you no is unacceptable. Get all your information before you say you will buy and if you have to ask your wife; do that first. A man’s word is his bond.

    20 MOA bases?

Thanks for all the information and opinions. I am not a hunter, just a shooter. I have multiple rifles and multiple optics that I switch around. I am now in the process of trying to make all my rifles a common platform. That platform will be a Picatinny Rail. I know I won’t be able to switch without rezeroing each time, but different bases and rings is a hassle. I think the 20MOA base would be a better choice for my 308 VLS than the standard base.
  11. We know who got out of his truck and started chasing the victim in Florida.
  12. Nope. I believe that in my heart. You can’t kill someone over a fight you started. You take your azz whipping and learn to either keep your mouth shut, or call the Police and let them deal with it. You don’t get to murder someone when you figure out you have bitten off more than you can chew. And I’m really surprised you don’t agree with me on this.
  13. Same thing they should say in Florida; SYG doesn’t apply to someone that started the confrontation.
  14. He isn’t going to get acquitted slinging mud at a dead victim. Zimmerman’s attorney has to be shaking his head; this kind of stuff will put his client in prison.
  15. Rock on! http://www.cbsnews.c...ighway-segment/
  16. This Mosque has been in the spotlight for a long time. If one dollar can be traced from that Mosque to a terrorist group the Feds will seize that building and property so fast it will make their Kufi’s spin.
  17. All guns prices have jumped like crazy. The internet has given a never before experienced base for illegal gun dealers to snatch up anything that is sold cheap and resale it at a profit. That’s why you see used guns selling for new prices, those that can’t pass a background check, or don’t want to do one, can find anything they want.
  18. Yes, but that guy doesn’t have that excuse, he was raised during a time when personal responsibility was commonplace. You would not have done that, and if you did you would be expected to buy the gun. I can’t count the number of times I have seen someone do something stupid while handling a gun. If you break it you own it.
  19. News flash…. There are animals in woods that will kill you and eat you. Then there are humans that will kill you just for sport. Carry a gun.
  20. You bet! Unless we decide to change; it has to happen.
  21. How did you get it delivered and what did delivery cost, if you don’t mind me asking?
  22. Because we don’t have a state income tax. As internet sales increase the state (our state) is losing part of its tax base. Do you think they will say “Oh well†and throw up their hands about the lost revenue? No, they will increase property tax, sales tax, or implement a state income tax. If the state can find a way to force internet retailers to collect state sales tax; more power to them.
  23. Governor Scott has a huge potential problem on his hands. How he looks pales in comparison to it.
  24. I have a gun in my car. My vehicle is locked at all times. If a criminal breaks into my car I would rather they steal my gun than my laptop. I’ve taken reasonable precautions to secure it; I see no reason to add a safe to my car. But I don’t drive to any facilities where guns are banned.
  25. He said he fired through the door when someone tried the door. Yes it was in Tennessee. It was discussed here in length. Maybe the thread is still around.
