There are all fast & easy until something goes wrong and PayPal gets involved. There are plenty of people that have stories of being ripped off using PayPal; I have mine and I wasn’t doing anything in violation of their terms. I don’t think any of us misunderstood. You violated their terms on firearms, you dodged fees by being untruthful about a purchase, and you want to know if anything can go wrong. Yes, if for any reason the buyer didn’t like the deal he could complain and they could freeze your account and not send you the money.

DEA: Alcohol Prohibition Worked Back In The 1920's
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
I’m not talking about the violence over drug territories; I’m asking if you think burglars and armed robbers will stop breaking into houses, robbing people and stealing your stuff to get money to buy drugs? Or are you going to make the drugs free? They commit violent crimes to get money for alcohol; it’s legal. Cigarettes are the most shop lifted item in this country; they are legal. I’m asking what you think will happen when you add methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and oxycodone to the mix? There are pharmacies that have quit carrying some pain meds because the addicts will jump over the counter and put a gun in their face to get them. Do you think the addicts will go get jobs to buy their now legal drugs? Give me your scenario of why a drug addict isn’t going to break into my house to steal my stuff, or stick a gun in my face and demand my money. This might cause less drug dealers to be arrested or people that have jobs and think they can use drugs recreationally won’t have to worry about being arrested. But how will this lower the rate of crime that impacts us as citizens? It will sky rocket; why wouldn’t it? -

I wouldn’t accept PayPal or use it for paying for a gun. It’s a violation of their policy and if a problem arises you could be out of luck.

Mike, I’m not being crabby, Just addressing the problem. Well, okay I’m a little crabby over the Comcast issue…. I know my keyboard was made in China, but the best things in life don’t have to be Guns, Cars, Motorcycles, and liquor can still be bought American Made. Other than that how’s your day going?

Guess which restaurant defends right to bear arms!
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I would have guessed Waffle House. -
I hear ya man. As the jobs leave, companies like yours and the one where I work are left to take up the slack. OSHA, EPA, Health care, 401K’s, and WC costs are all built into the cost of the product. We are then expected to compete with foreign manufactures that don’t have those costs. It’s easy for the American consumer to say we have to be able to compete on price, and then justify buying their foreign products by blaming the unions. I don’t work in a Union shop, are you union? Guns? Some are more than willing to spend $600 on a POS 1911 made in the Philippines by a company that doesn’t have the manufacturing cost of doing business here, and then tout is as being as good as a quality 1911 made here… “For the money†they say. Does it compare to a Kimber, Smith & Wesson or Ruger? Of course it doesn’t; but it’s cheaper. Remember when the HS2000 was a cheap POS with all kinds of problems? Along comes Springfield Armory, who decides to import it from Croatia, throw a new name on it (XD), stamp “Springfield Armory Geneseo, IL†on it and all of sudden they have them a “Springfieldâ€. Smith & Wesson came into this market and is taking it away from Glock with an all American made gun of better quality while holding a price point. We need to support these American guns companies. EDIT: Oh and by the way…. The IT and computer geeks use to always tell me how this was a good thing; competition, bla, bla bla. Their industry was booming. Well ya know what…. You can buy IT and programmers for a dime a dozen now. The U.S. has allowed India to send their people here to take those jobs. But try to hire a skilled machinist. My Comcast bill is $230 a month. I was having trouble with a bad HD box; the office was closed over the weekend so I couldn’t go swap it out. I had to deal with tech support that was in India and didn’t know chit. After a couple of time consuming worthless calls, I asked them what country they were in. She told me “Southeast Asiaâ€. India is not in Southeast Asia. It’s pretty bad when your support is so lousy you have to lie about where you are. I would love to dump Comcast but they have a monopoly because they are protected by the government.

Guy with the gun robbed of his gun, because he had one.
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
A group of five gang bangers decide they need a new gun. They decide they will take it from the next person they see open carrying. They know that once they are within a few feet of you; they own you and your gun. They head off to the mall to get their new gun. What does your “situational awareness†do for you in this situation and how do you react? -
How ‘Wide Receiver’ and ‘Fast and Furious’ are different
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Agent Terry was killed by an AK round. They have the round, if they have the guns I haven’t seen any evidence saying he was killed by one of them. And why would it matter if he was? Why would the cartels buy high priced neutered AK’s from the U.S. when they could by the real deal fully autos from other countries? I could see them buying AR’s here and modifying them; but not an AK. -
How ‘Wide Receiver’ and ‘Fast and Furious’ are different
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
I understand that, but to believe that was the fault of the agents involved in tracing the guns, you would have to believe that the shooter would not have been there or had a gun in his hand had it not been for this operation. Its the argument the anti's use to try to disarm us. The last I heard there no proof that the gun used to kill Agent Terry was one of these guns. Has that changed? -
The government has radio and TV ads about being prepared. This forum has a whole section dedicated to that. The military will absolutely be involved in the job of law enforcement, medical help, clearing debris and reconstruction. I see no reason why they would not have drills in the area they would be. My first though was “Are residential side streets made to handle tank traffic?â€

How ‘Wide Receiver’ and ‘Fast and Furious’ are different
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Why do I care about “Wide Receiver†or “Fast & Furious?†I don’t. I could not care less if guns are going into Mexico. I could not care less if holders of FFL’s are being arrested for violating the Federal laws they are supposed to know and abide by. If innocent gun dealers are being arrested, that is a different matter and has nothing to do with Mexico. Hillary Clinton made dumbazz statements about 80% of all guns used in crimes in Mexico come from the U.S. Now she is trying to not to look like the idiot she is. Only now she has many of the gun owners on board with her, helping her prove all these guns went into Mexico. The Mexican government is a criminal enterprise controlled by the cartels. The President of Mexico I’m sure will announce that his “fix†for this will be the U.S. paying him large sums of money. Screw him and screw the cartels. I don’t care what a drug agent does with drugs in an uncover operation and I sure don’t care what an ATF agent does with guns in an undercover operation. I don’t care if they lost them in Mexico, I don’t care who’s idea it was, I don’t care who knew about it or when. And neither should you. The more you push this and keep it in the public eye, the more it will lead to gun control. A non-stop stream of drugs and Illegals are crossing our borders from Mexico every day. Not only does the Mexican government not try to stop it; they are involved in it. How do I know those guns aren’t getting into the hands of people who want to protect themselves from the cartels and a corrupt government? I don’t, and I don’t care. You can see where this is headed can’t you? A United States Passport will be required for any gun purchased. A daily list from every dealer will go the local ATF office for them to deal with in whatever manner they choose. I would rather see guns go to Mexico. -
That’s exactly what he’s suing for. And it’s pretty common in cases where an injury causes the inability to have sex for any given period of time. It helps in punitive damages.

DEA: Alcohol Prohibition Worked Back In The 1920's
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
So you think that the violence will stop? Are the drugs going to be free? Of course they aren’t. Are the cartels in other countries and the street gangs here going to disappear quietly into the night, or are you saying they will clean up their act and open retail stores and become productive citizens? Young kids have always experimented with pot and alcohol. Most have survived the experimentation process; some have not. How will that work when the experimentation is with methamphetamine and heroin? Once they are addicted where will they get the money to buy their drugs? The “lets legalize drugs†push comes from a bunch of pot heads that make the argument pot is safer than alcohol. That may be true. Are you making the same argument about methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and oxycodone? Who is going to pay for the treatment and rehab centers? DUI will still be crime only it will go through the roof. Who will pay for the costs associated with that? No one is going to seriously consider the legalization of drugs. -
Wow, that can’t be any more than software; I’m surprised that company can stay in business. I hope you find another machine company to buy from. Since it’s outlawed by the FCC, and you know someone is knowingly using or demonstrating it at the show, and it damages your property; that should be criminal damage to property (or whatever the law is called in this state) and they should be subject to arrest on criminal charges.

The EPA tried to shut them down over lead issues. But it didn’t work (yet). So now OSHA is saying “Hold my beer and watch this.†The EPA and OSHA have done more to run business out of this country than unions could ever do. Obama might not be able to get guns banned, but he sure can make life tough (and expensive) for those in the industry.

Being a victim of a violent crime changes your outlook on a lot of things doesn’t it? Sorry you had to go through that. Did he get paroled? I didn’t think you could get paroled without openly acknowledging your crime and at least pretending to show remorse. Unless of course he did his full sentence.

16 Open Carriers vs Several Police Officers!
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
How did you come up with that statistic? I did thousands of vehicle stops and searched hundreds of vehicles and never asked for permission to search when I didn’t already have probable cause. Asking was just conversation to determine how things were going to go. I was never refused permission to search and let the driver drive away without me searching the vehicle for whatever I was looking for. But that was a long time ago, we didn’t ask for permission to search without PC. To test your theory I would be curious to hear from the Officers of today how many people tell them no on a request to search and are allowed to drive away without a search. -
DEA: Alcohol Prohibition Worked Back In The 1920's
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Drugs won’t ever be legalized. Take the whole criminal/enforcement element out of it. You think we have high unemployment and a drain on social programs and medical care now; see what happens if you legalize drugs. What makes you think the costs of drugs would drop if they were legal, or that drug users would not be breaking into your homes or robbing you to get money to buy them? A whole new industry would be developed to grow, process and distribute the drugs; they would want paid. The manufacturing industry doesn’t drug test because they are illegal; they drug test because you can’t have someone that is high working around machinery and putting everyone else at risk. Our economy and society would crumble at even a faster rate than it is now. -
DEA: Alcohol Prohibition Worked Back In The 1920's
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
We as a country can’t control illegal drugs from being brought into or manufactured in our country. We can’t secure our borders from illegals that are helping to destroy our economy. The government says we don’t have the manpower or resources to stop illegals or drugs. But someone thinks it’s a good idea to outlaw alcohol and start a whole new criminal enterprise? Where is the money going to come from? And where is the money going to come from to double the number of prisons we have now? I swear that some dumbazz people think the government has an endless supply of money. Unfortunately it appears most of those people work in government jobs. Since Obama hasn’t done anything to create any of the jobs he promised, maybe this is his way to create a whole new government agency and give his supporters jobs. -
Oshkosh judges face down law on guns in courtroom
DaveTN replied to MikePapa1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It would be interesting to see exactly what the law says. Unless it’s absolutely clear; the Judge decides what goes on in his courtroom. -
I would think that for the money you would have in a new barrel, stock and forend, you might be money ahead to sell your 1100 and buy a tactical. Like this…. http://www.budsgunsh...oducts_id/41868 However… it depends on what you want. Replacement stock and forend could be less than $100, less than $200 for a standard 18†barrel to over $300 for rifled slug barrel with rifle sights. What s the 1100 you have now, is it a WingMaster?

Good for you. Not often we get to buy an American made product that surpasses the imported stuff and doesn’t cost more. S&W has hit a home run with the M&P. They have put American made firearms back in the hands of Police Officers and civilians alike. As a Toolmaker by trade I find their construction and finish to be superior to the competition, the ergonomics are great, and they did it while being price competitive. I have 4 M&P’s and can’t wait to get my hands on the new Shield. Hope you enjoy your M&P.

U.S. FAMILY JAILED FOR HOLDER'S GUN CRIMES
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
He needs a conviction on something to be able to steal all their property. It’s too bad that this all stated over a tip phoned in by Terri Reese. I guess we will have to wait until the trial to find out what “Failure to comply with Federal Firearm laws" took place. -
Goes to show how ignorant they are; I’m sure they see nothing wrong with it. I’m surprised they didn’t put it on whitehouse.gov. (although I didn't go look)
