No, it’s a crime to carry a loaded gun in this state. You have to have a Handgun Carry Permit.

Thanks Dolomite, I’ve tried the WTB before and had good luck with used guns from members, but when looking for new it doesn’t appear the forum dealers look there much. Today it’s an M&P40 Shield.

Google Censors All Gun, Ammo and Accessory Results
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I know. But it just pizzes me off that I will have to use some second rate search engine because I want to search gun stuff. Google doesn’t have any competition near their ability or quality and they know it; that’s why they can do stuff like this. Sure, someone will knock them down but that will take a long time. There should be some way to get the shareholders to put some pressure on them; I doubt most of them think this is right. -
Maybe I’m just missing it, but I would like to buy a new gun from a supporting dealer if I can find a fair deal. The Vendor Midway says I can’t start a new thread. Is there anywhere other than the Firearms Classified, or sending PM’s I can try to contact local dealers for pricing and availability? EDIT: Let me clarify this. I do not want an open pricing thread. I’m just wondering about posting what I want and having them contact me, instead of me trying to find all the folks to PM.

Google Censors All Gun, Ammo and Accessory Results
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Just goes to show that we as an industry or market share are so small they don’t consider the economic impact significant. This needs to be in the mainstream media and have people talking about it. Many people might not stop using Google because of a gun ban, but they might because of the censorship of a legal product. BTW…. Google owns YouTube. Who are we going to use when they ban gun videos? -
Good for them. We are in serious need of a good gun shop here; driving 100 miles round trip gets old. I’m for giving the “New Management†a chance, we will see.

I had a Plank Owners Zippo from the USS Ponce (LPD-15). Someone stole it off the table in a bar one night. What did you do on the Spear? I was a Machinist (MR) on the USS Holland (AS-32) in 74-75. I think the Spear was in Norfolk when I was there on the Ponce 72-73?

I checked mine when this thread started and it was okay. Just checked it again and it’s all gone.

Four Tennessee men face charges in gun sales
DaveTN replied to BLACKVANDRIVER's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It’s like drug dealers, when people start knowing who you are; it’s just a matter of time. And making the “undercover buys†is like shooting ducks in a barrel. -
That’s my point. Kids aren’t mature enough to make good decisions; that’s why they aren’t usually charged with crimes that stay with them for life, like adults are. From your comments you are a parent that has “situational awareness†when it comes to your kids. Many parents don’t and I’ve watched those parents break down when I had to tell them their kid was dead. Alcohol and pot was bad enough, but now Meth and Crack has been thrown into the mix (along with other “designer drugs†that no one knows the long term effects of yet.) Alcohol is deadly with kids because even “good kids†will try it. It’s usually not the effects on the body that kills them, its thinking they can drive. After all; they see Mom and Dad do it.

What an amazing thing! You deserve to be proud and so does your son.

So if you see the signs that your kids are driving DUI, smoking crack, or shooting meth; you just see how things work out? This is a thread about methamphetamine. You think trying to protect your kids from that is taking away their liberty? These are questions; I am not trying to put words in your mouth?

Military & Police Call in About Gun Confiscation Orders
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The gun seizures during Katrina are always brought up in these discussions. It was an isolated incident in an area where all infrastructure and communications was destroyed on a scale not seen before. Good things came from those incidents. Many states, Tennessee included, made specific laws making it clear that the seizures of firearms during disasters is illegal. Laws also came about that allows the price of certain items to be frozen because of the criminal gas stations owners that were charging over $10 a gallon for gas. -
Looking at it as a former cop, my feeling is that Meth is a huge problem. It is so rampant that if a cop wants to bust drug makers and dealers he won’t have to worry about busting people with the contents to make it; identify them for a later bust. At 3am walking around behind a church meeting up with someone else, carrying the supplies for meth, you either have a cooker or someone selling the ingredients. It might be a case you could win in court; but not the kind of case I would want. I would tell him I’ve identified him as being involved in drugs and that I’m going to eventually bust him; then I would let him go. He has had his warning. Later when he’s set-up for a buy/sale from a UC; he busted. Long term solution? Jobs. Our economy is collapsing and this problem is only going to get worse. We are going to need more cops, but eventually there won’t be money to pay them. Family values & morals. Too many parents don’t know what their kids are doing, don’t care, or don’t handle it properly when they are made aware. It’s tough to help those kids. Short term? Build more prisons and keep them in prison longer. But again, it will become hard to find money for that.

Don’t buy any Kydex holsters if you are going to leave your gun in the car.

Military & Police Call in About Gun Confiscation Orders

Who are you afraid of? What type of information do you have that you can’t post here? And there you have it. Even if anyone bought into this, I’m not sure why they think the Military and Police would attack civilians. But even if they did, they would have to remain a cohesive unit; and they couldn’t. The Military and Police are filled with Americans, a very small percentage would turn of their country; those that did would quickly be put down. It wouldn’t be a military action; it would be a civil war. There wouldn’t be any Military or Police Departments left to act as a unit. -
Did any of you catch the pro-gun part of Army Wives last night? Must be some pro-gun women at Lifetime. After Denise killed her attacker…. Denise: Thank You Frank: Huh? Denise: Thank you for teaching me to shoot and making sure I go to the range every year. When I held that gun, I knew what to do. Frank: That’s the point of training; so you don’t have to think about it when you need it. http://www.mylifetim...o/full-episodes And don't try to tell me none of you guys watch Army Wives....

MAN WITH GUN CHASES OFF ATTACKING BEAR IN NATIONAL FOREST...

Or a centerfire rifle round capable of taking down a bear. I'm just sayin' -
They are necessary. If it wasn’t for the EPA thousands of people would be dead. Same with OSHA and deaths from industrial accidents. I’m not saying we should do away with these laws. I’m saying a U.S. company can’t compete on price with countries that don’t have these very real costs. So to either keep or bring manufacturing back here there are only two choices; the consumer has to support companies that don’t destroy the earth and try to maintain a safe working environment for their employees, or have the government pay the costs of these protections (higher taxes for you). But either way every financial “expert†out there has said our economy can’t recover until our manufacturing base recovers. More and more Americans are realizing that every day. Will the change come fast enough to keep our economy from collapsing? It doesn’t look good.

A St. Louis Police Officer crying and saying they are training to operate with the military against citizens, but he can’t talk about it. Is there a single person on this forum that believes that? You think that the government would operate with a Police Department against the public, and say “But hey, don’t say anything.†Drones with VX nerve gas to be used against Americans. -
That’s terrible that she had to deal with that. I’m guessing there is some bad information in that story. If the car had to be held as evidence “in case there is a trialâ€, it would impounded as evidence and they wouldn’t make her pay. I’m also guessing that the $50 “clean up†fee was tacked on to the tow bill by the towing company to sweep and pick up the glass and debris from her sons car. Of course I could be wrong. I guess it’s possible that the law there allows for the Police to hold a vehicle for evidence for months and then bill the owner. I also guess its possible the city billed her for cleaning the street. But I doubt it.

DEA: Alcohol Prohibition Worked Back In The 1920's
DaveTN replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
No they aren’t. The majority of narcotic related crimes are the crimes the addicts commit against innocent citizens to get their next fix. Home invasion, Armed Robbery, Burglary, kidnapping, Theft, the rapes and assualts that occur during those other offenses and injuries from DUI. If it was the cartels or gang bangers beheading each other why would we care?
