  1. No, as TMF pointed out; you can just say no. For most business owners I would guess this isn’t about guns, shootings, AD/ND’s, or their feelings on gun control; it’s about money. If you get shot inside a business, you will go get a lawyer that will tell you that you deserve a payday. Just like the lawyer that took the cops case after his young son shot him because he didn’t secure his weapon. Problem is, you probably aren’t going to get anything from the shooter. You might be able to get a judgment but that doesn’t mean much if he doesn’t have the ability to pay or just refuse to. Your attorney needs someone with “Deep Pockets†so both he and you can get paid. That will be the business. The attorney doesn’t care if the business isn’t responsible or not; he just needs to get a payday. So you two get together and sue the business. The business owner can run the risk (and have the expense) of going to court or he can make a deal with you and your attorney for whatever his insurance company will pay. Should be decide to fight you, that sign on the door could dramatically impact the jury’s decision if they are deciding on punitive damages. Suing someone when you know they are not a fault should be a crime. But it’s not because the attorneys make the laws; they aren’t going to do anything to stop them from strong arming a person with the ability to pay. Someday I believe that will change, but until it does the owner of a business has a responsibility to his family and his employees to do what’s right for the business. The state is who you need to be talking to about your safety. It is a crime for a citizen to carry a gun in this state. Only people in a very small special group have bought the privilege of carrying a loaded gun. IMHO this state can pass all the laws it wants about whether you can carry in a business or not, but until it is a right and not a privilege it will never hold up when tested in court…. Or at least it shouldn’t.
  2. I agree. He can’t get guns outlawed or take away our right to own them or our States Right to legislate where we carry them; but he can try to get restrictions on certain guns and high capacity magazines. If he is reelected I don’t think he will flip-flop on it or make any apologies; he won’t have any reason to. I truly believe his goal is to damage this country as much as he can and it won’t be limited to guns or gun rights. Let’s just quote this and see if we revisit this.
  3. The “Tool†(or as they say in the manual “similar deviceâ€) is to lower the sear deactivation lever. I just do it with my finger. I assume they include the tool for liability reasons in case someone sticks their finger in there and at the same time release the slide and smashes their finger. You don’t need to pull the trigger to take down an M&P.
  4. You don’t need a tool to take down an M&P; I never use one. A 1911 comes with a barrel bushing wrench, but that doesn’t mean it’s required. I have a video someone where of me field stripping and reassembling an M&P in under a couple of minutes, I’ll have to see if I can find it. The M&P comes in .45ACP also. I love the .45ACP round, but I personally, for a combat handgun would take 15 rounds of 40 S&W over 10 rounds of .45 ACP. Although I doubt the military would agree.
  5. No need to be regressive, DPMS makes a wicked AR with 19 rounds of .308 standard. It’s my SHTF rifle and would be my choice for a squad car rifle or a battle rifle.
  6. Man, I love my 1911’s and they are fantastic, but if was heading into the streets with a duty weapon or in the military needing a battle sidearm; I would grab my full size M&P 40 with 15 rounds. They have been proven on the streets; they can’t be proven in battle unless someone tries them. But I’d certainly take a .45 1911 over anything in 9mm. Will they dump the .223 and bring back the 7.62 NATO next?
  7. I was looking for a leather Thumb Break OWB for my new Shield. I am really happy with the new Desantis. I especially like the adjustable cant. This thing lays tight against my body and rides high. Also has retention adjustment. I wasn't expecting too much because it wasn’t that expensive; but I was pleasantly surprised. As an added bonus, it doesn’t fit perfectly, but it could be used for my Kahr MK40. I think I have found a very good 40 caliber Micro combination with this gun and holster. Just got the M&P Shield and haven’t had it to the range yet though.
  8. I’m in the South; everyone stands around smiling holding the door for me. Oh wait….
  9. There it is in a nutshell. As responsible gun owners we have to be very careful of what we say and do.
  10. He is accused of making the threat, he had what will be perceived by some as too many guns and too much ammo, he was wearing a T-shirt that said “Guns don’t kill people; I doâ€, A Police spokesperson said they “thwarted a terrorist threatâ€. You think he can find a credible shrink that will say he is okay to own guns? If he made the threat, I think he will be lucky if they offer him a deal that keeps him out of prison. This is nothing like what happened to the guy in Lebanon. The guy in Lebanon didn’t make a threat and wasn’t charged with a crime; they were evaluating him as being suicidal. According to his videos; they didn’t seize his guns either.
  11. Of course they can convict him if the jury finds the witnesses are credible. Witnesses’ testimony is evidence. Threatening to blow up a businesses in this day and age will likely result in Federal charges that will bury him. On the other question; nothing keeps people from falsely accusing you, other than like any crime; fear of prosecution if it is discovered.
  12. You mean like a Tennessee court suspending someones HCP, saying they are a potential danger and then the BATF giving them an FFL…. that easy?
  13. Gallup has them both at 46% right now. This is going to take every vote we can muster to get Obama out of office.
  14. All things impact a kid. TV, Video games, roll models, what they see at home, school, sports, peers, it all has impact. It is usually a messed up home, but not always. Some parents try to do everything right and still have kids that just aren’t wired right. So now a worker has been fired, and a Parent has been arrested for smacking around the wrong kid. That’s going to impact their families.
  15. Digging ditches is hard work; I wonder why they couldn’t get their wig company off the ground?
  16. They have three; two are on suspension.
  17. I just want to know what happened. I searched and didn’t find much other than the Mayor saying he was sure they would be fired. I’m also wondering why they didn’t go with the assaultive charges; aggravated assault. Just an unusual charge…..
  18. If they did it would be like perjury, they would have to know they were lying and it would have to material to the case. Unless someone is trying to outlaw body armor, or unless you are a person that took a shot at him, who really cares if he had body armor on? And if they did that it would be seen as a government conspiracy to silence the media.
  19. The incident was a year ago and they were arrested three months ago. Anything happened since then? All I see is they were suspended without pay and expected to be fired. 2/3rds of the Police Department is on suspension.
  20. Anyone have Access Databases or Excel Spreadsheets that they have created for firearms logging and information that they would like to share?
  21. That’s what I figured out when I was looking at top of the line Dillon Loaders and high end components. I figured out that you would have to justify the costs on the ability to make custom loads; because I didn’t see any cost savings. I didn’t need another expensive hobby.
  22. Whether it is the internet or Talk Radio you have to be smart enough to figure out if what is being said is true. Some radio and internet shows want a serious discussion of the issues, and some want to present the most outlandish non-sense you have ever heard because the comments will be so entertaining and the quotes posted will get them hits. I mean… we try to have a serious discussion and people will post Alex Jones videos. How can anyone take that seriously? Then we are berated for having our “heads in the sand†or being “sheepleâ€. I’m not so sure anymore that it’s about the right, left, conservative, liberal, republican or democrats as much as it is about intelligence, believability and questioning what we see and hear.
  23. I’m too scared. And I’m not afraid to admit it. I wish I had someone other than Romney to vote for; but I don’t. I’m scared to death that Obama will be reelected; it will be devastating to my country. But I’m not too stubborn or to indoctrinated to vote outside party lines; I’m intelligent enough to know that any third party candidate running right now has absolutely no chance of winning and I would just be throwing my vote away; insuring Obamas reelection. Voting isn’t a popularity contest, a way to send a political message, or a way to feel good about yourself; its serious business, you are choosing who will be the President for the next four years. Once again we find ourselves voting for the lesser of two evils because the guys we wanted didn’t make the cut.
  24. I didn’t see the story you were linking to, but that’s all I needed to see to know I needed to get out of there.
  25. Maybe be just dumped the 100 round mag that had jammed and replaced it with a 30. My wife said she heard on the news that he went out to his car and was returning, but someone shut the door.
