That’s as stupid as the case that’s in court here trying to get a ruling that Tennessee cops can’t enforce immigration laws. I guess now we are going to have some “special groups†of criminals. Oh….. and good for Senator Sessions.

You are not required to check ID. However, you are required to sell handguns only to residents of this state that are of age. It is also a crime to sell to a person if you know them to be a convicted felon, if you don’t know; it is not a crime. Prior to setting up a meeting I tell people I will need them to show me a Tennessee driver’s license or HCP to verify where they live and their age. I require a signed bill of sale. If they don’t want to do that we don’t meet. I don’t travel very far anymore for meets. I had a clown meet me once and back out of the deal claming something about a gun he obviously knew nothing about. I figure unless I have it priced too high, I shouldn’t need to travel.

I looked into spotting scopes and did research on the optics forum. A good spotting scope will be several hundred dollars (I was looking for 300-400 yards or more). I would think you could put that money into a high power quality rifle scope and see bullet holes at 200 yards. It won’t be long until we have affordable wireless optics that we can set downrange and this won’t be an issue anymore.

Mexico dissolves its FBI and moves to legalize drugs
DaveTN replied to plank white's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Many times the root cause is drugs, either needing money for a fix or being so high they claimed that they didn’t know what they were doing. I understand you aren’t going to buy that under any circumstances, that’s fine; it’s just a discussion. Yes, alcohol is a dangerous drug; it has been the root cause for the death of many innocent people. In my observations as a Police Officer I would say it is a worse drug than pot. I’m sure there are people on this forum that have lost loved ones due to alcohol. But I couldn’t care less about pot; I’m talking about narcotics. These are my firsthand observations as having been a Police Officer and responding to the aftermath of criminals that needed a fix, or were out of control. I have seen firsthand the effects it has on people, I have had to take to them jail after they have committed their acts, and had to notify the families of the dead. I’ve also seen the arrested crying in jail about how it was the drugs after being told what they did. So yes, the drugs are the root cause in many cases and if you don’t maintain drug enforcement you will be sending a message to a whole new generations that drugs are okay. I agree with you that alcohol is bad, but I fail to see the connection between prohibition and allowing illegal drugs. Many people use alcohol as a recreational drug and don’t have problem. Many people are addicted to alcohol and it destroys their lives, and sometimes the lives of innocent bystanders. Are those the reasons you are using to justify allowing the use of crack, methamphetamine, or heroin? So we are in agreement…. Alcohol is bad. The fact it is legal doesn’t justify making those other drugs legal. -
Selling cheeseburgers to illegals isn’t against the law; selling ammo is. There are several items that you can’t make people sell and they really don’t have to give a reason why; Tobacco products, liquor, guns, and ammunition is on that list; cheeseburgers are not. I’m not saying I agree with what they did; just pointing out that there is Federal law against it. It isn’t new and it isn’t state law, but the clerk may not have understood that if he was new. The clerk could be a hater, he could be a new employee trying to be efficient, or he could be an employee that is being audited; who knows. I’m 58 years old and was carded because I was buying handgun ammo. I laughed out loud, said “thank you very much†we both had a good laugh and he told me its company policy. I’ve also been carded buying beer… I’m just a plain old white American so no, I can’t threaten anyone with a lawsuit. I guess if something happens to a minority they can always find an attorney that will handle the case. I’m sure if this was presented to Dick’s management they would either explain their policy or apologize and say they would reprimand the employee.

I just bought the one in this thread for OWB carry for my Shield. Rides high and tight and a shirt covers it. I have both the Crossbreed Supertuck and the D.M. Bullard Dual Carry for my M&P Compact. My personal preference is leather so I think the Bullard is far superior to the Supertuck, but it’s whatever you like. But unfortunately neither of these is a secure holster. http://www.tngunowne...shield-holster/

Mexico dissolves its FBI and moves to legalize drugs
DaveTN replied to plank white's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We don’t have a bunch of people in prison for minor drug charges. The popular thing to say is that you are/were in prison because of drugs. It sounds a lot better than you shot a store clerk to death while trying to get money for your next fix, or that you raped and beat a woman to death because you were so high you didn’t know what was going on. All the arguments about legalizing drugs in this country are moot; it isn’t going to happen. You might see pot decriminalized someday, but that doesn’t mean anything will change for those that work for companies that have drug testing policies in place. It’ll just put more people in the unemployment lines, with those of us that work for a living and don’t use drugs, and American companies that still do business here paying the bills. This is about securing our borders…. Period. The Border Patrol can’t do it now, let alone when Mexico throws in the towel and gives free rein to the cartels. This BS of not being able to use our military to protect our country is crazy. They are already on the payroll…. Let’s use them. -
There is federal law against selling ammunition to illegals.

Mexico dissolves its FBI and moves to legalize drugs

This isn’t about legalizing pot. It’s about cocaine, heroin and pot. It isn’t about telling people they can’t have drugs, it’s about protecting ourselves and our families from those that would do anything to get their next fix. If some think that a person killing themselves is natural selection at work, I doubt they will feel that way when the next generation of crack heads kills their wife or kid in a robbery to support their drug habit. You can legalize all the drugs you want, but employers will still do drug screening and fire those that test positive. They aren’t going to accept drugs in the workplace. It would just be another blow to our manufacturing base. I hope all those that have a job are ready for their taxes to skyrocket to pay for all the new prisons we will need for all our new entries into the drug culture. Its time to repeal Posse Comitias and use our military to secure our borders. Either that or we are going to have to pay a bunch more money for more cops and Border Patrol. -

This should come as no surprise. You notice he says he is open to “Debate in the strategy in the way we fight drug traffickingâ€. That is code for “We will now be open with our government corruption, this will be about who will pay us more, the U.S. or the cartelsâ€. And yes, they act appalled that we let some guns cross the border. This won’t end well for anyone…… except the corrupt government officials and the cartels. -
This. There is only one reason I can think of why a person would pay full price for a used common gun; because they can’t pass a background check. I use to buy most of my guns used, but in the last few years most have been new. My favorite line is “I bought this new and I’m just trying to get out of it what I have in it.†I’m going to try that the next time I sell a car. I recently advertised that I wanted to buy an M&P Shield. I got an offer from someone that had a used one for $525. Sure you will get lowball offers, people snatch up anything at a decent price, mark it up and relist it. Of course, they will be the ones crying for support when they get arrested doing it. But if you are asking what a person can buy the gun new for, $100 off isn’t a lowball offer its reality. Don’t be mad; just tell them “Not at this timeâ€. I recently walked into a gun show carrying my handgun in the box because I wanted to shop for a holster. I was swarmed when I walked through the door. Whatcha got?, Whats in there?, Goodgrief I’ve never seen that happen before. I guess the economy is so bad people are will to risk jail for a few extra bucks.

I'm thinking that will end up something like this.........

Yes, that place is funny as all get out. In about a month we are going to IMTS in Chicago and spend a couple of days partying. That restaurant is at the top of our list.

Maybe they got the idea from this guy.... http://paleoconcomma...no-service.html

He shot 70 people. Do you really think it will matter to anyone how many rounds he fired? He didn't have an automatic rifle.

You have a .308 Semi-auto that kicks more than a 12ga pump? What kind is it?

Those are target sights. What do you not like about them, or what do want to be different? You can spend a lot of money, but I doubt you find better target sights.

More tin foil hattery that really is no concern. We need to use all available resources we have. It’s time to repeal Posse Comitatus and use the military when they are available to help protect or borders or other law enforcement when needed. The idea that our military is going to be used against the civilian populace is non-sense.

Smith & Wesson or Kimber. But selection in gun stores is going to be pretty limited. Even the big on-line dealers can't keep them in stock.

Dear rich Republicans…. Please pay the bill to have that video run on prime time TV several times a day until the November election. Since you obviously didn’t spend a lot of money finding someone to run in this election. Thank you, Middle Class Working Man

I have been a loyal Comcast customers for years. But I have to find an alternative. I’m at $230 a month and it seems like it goes up every month. But I guess that is what happens when you don’t have any competition.

Wackenhut guards nuclear facilities now? Years ago they were used as strike breakers. -
I’m surprised some of you guys haven’t gone into it as a business. I would assume that’s how businesses like this got started. That’s a heck of a nice building and they only load one caliber (as far as I can tell). http://setpointammo.com/

So this guy had been walking around with a revolved cocked and no one told him what an idiot he was? What kind of explanation did he give you when you told him what he was doing was reckless? So your reason for posting has nothing to do liability, but we can’t carry in your business because a guy was carrying a revolver cocked?
