The side that wanted States Rights may have lost the war, but it certainly made sure no one wanted to fight that fight again. If the states say ObamaCare is over…. It’s over. States’ Rights did away with the “Right to bear” part of the 2nd amendment; I think it can kick ObamaCare to the curb.

You need to talk to a criminal defense attorney right away. I think you are putting yourself at risk of arrest by having anymore conversations with the DOS or TBI. Of course I could be wrong.

Sorry, but I don’t buy into the “Everything is a cover-up at the highest levels of government”. I’m not saying that the incidents didn’t make his decision to resign easier; may well have. But “lawyering up” won’t get him out of anything. Cheating on your wife, as far as I know doesn’t carry criminal charges, and as far as I know he isn’t suspected of any other criminal acts. I guess he could try, but they would just grant him immunity and force him to testify. A person can only invoke the 5th in criminal matters, and only in a civil hearing if there is reason to believe criminal charges will be filed. He can’t refuse to answer in a Congressional hearing.

An 18” barrel will not be able to compete with the much longer barrels. If you shoot clays at a range, check to see if they have a minimum barrel length requirement.

What does anyone think this is getting him out of? He will still testify. And he’s testifying in front of a bunch of people that have done much worse than have an affair. Clinton had an affair and then lied to a Grand Jury about it.

[/font][/color] [/quote] They don’t care what your sentence was; or even if you didn’t serve any time and got probation. It’s the amount of time the offense could carry. It basically separates Misdemeanors and Felonies. Because your felony is 20 years old and isn’t violent or involve drugs; you would be a good candidate for expungement. However, Tennessee is one of the hardest states I have ever seen to get gun rights back in, make sure when you start the process your attorney knows getting your gun rights back is your ultimate goal. Unless I’m mistaken you are a “felon in possession”. And I think Tennessee just made that mandatory prison time.

I would think a Federal ban on private sales would be overturned by the SCOTUS if it happened. They left the door open for banning and outlawing stuff, but they made it pretty clear that ownership is a right. They left half the 2nd amendment intact as far as the individual is concerned.

I don’t know why anyone that served with such an honorable military career as he had would want a job running the CIA. There is nothing to indicate what he is saying is not the truth. The elections over; Obama doesn’t have to answer to anyone anymore. If he wanted to fire him; he would just do it. Looks to me like the guy had an affair and stepped down because of it.

What do you guys think? [/quote] Should they ever outlaw a specific type of weapon with no Grandfather clause, it wouldn’t be an issue of you having to explain where it went; no one would care. The issue would be when you are found to be in possession. Many of us here have thousands of dollars (some more) in weapons that would be banned. I think the “No Grandfather” discussion is to try to scare everyone into thinking they may lose all the money they have in these guns and get them to accept something that allows them to keep their arms but bans future sales. The states need to step-up. Tennessee passed the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act, but it hasn’t been tried yet. I don’t think the Feds or the SCOTUS wants to get into a “States Rights” pizzing match. It would be ironic that the very thing that rendered the 2nd amendment pretty much useless for the individual may help everyone keep their guns.

This will end the way all HD shotgun thread end…. Remington 870. They are cheap and they are proven performers. There is no limit to options and costs. For a Home Defense shotgun I prefer the 870 with a 20” rifled slug barrel with adjustable rifle sights. I prefer the beauty of the rich looking walnut and the deep gloss blue of the WingMaster, but of course that’s about twice the price of an Express. Synthetic is out for me, but that’s your best bet for the lowest price.

Selling a gun to a convicted felon could be the least of your worries; and pretty hard to prove you knew. The biggest concern I would have would be that after he told you he was from out of state and you sold to him; he took the cuffs and placed you under arrest.

I’m not a big knife buyer, but I would not be impressed by cutsie names and funny hats. I would want to see close up detail showing blade surface finish and edge detail, handle detail, etc. Unless you want to spend a butt load of money on a new camera and learn some software packages, you might consider finding a skilled photographer locally that will trade photos for knives. Not trying to be hard on you, but you are new, and people are going to have to see close up detail of your work if you expect to sell over the net. Especially when you are asking hundreds of dollars for your work.

If you are arrested from the vehicle and the Officer is towing it, everything in it is fair game without a warrant. If the cop has probable cause and is searching for drugs, he can search anywhere drugs can be. That includes the glove box. I would call a loaded gun in a glove box, locked or not readily accessible. Unless there is some specific case law; you are armed. Point being…. If I’m out drinking and happen to have my gun with me, I’m unloading it and putting it in the trunk, while my wife drives. If a cop asks if there is a gun in my vehicle I will answer him honestly. I think saying “Yes, it’s in the locked glove box” while you are sitting in the passenger seat drunk; may not end well for you or your HCP.
