  1. Ha, ha, ha, exactly what I was thinking as I was reading what he stands for…..this guy is a Democrat, he wouldn't last a day against Trump.
  2. If he couldn’t win in his own parties primary against Trump; he couldn’t beat him in an election.
  3. They couldn’t run as a republican. But why would a republican want to see a Democrat elected over Trump?
  4. Certainly. It’s one of the few things they can agree is the truth. In my lifetime Perot in 92 was the only third-party candidate close to having a chance. But he got scared and backed out. I’m not saying its not possible with the right candidate, but we haven’t seen anything close to that.
  5. So they can change your settings to track your phone, record video and audio, and make a database of the guns you have. Why else would a .Gov need an app on your phone?
  6. I agree. That’s why I have said I don’t like him as a person. But he is a great President. We wanted a President that wasn’t a politician. That’s exactly what we got and prior to this, a booming economy to go along with it. I know you don’t think that economy would have continued, but he is a proven perform so far. I wish he would stop using Twitter. I wish he would quit making statements like “The Presidents power is absolute!” I wish he wouldn’t bait the idiots at the press conferences. But none of those things have any impact…none. I don’t know if he will be reelected, I can only pray that happens. I don’t understand how anyone, even a liberal, could let their hatred of Trump cause them to vote for any of the Democrat candidates we have now. And voting for anyone other than a Republican or Democrat is senseless. But then I never thought Americans would come that close to running a socialist. We are getting ready to either take an even bigger hit on our economy, kill a bunch of Americans, or both. All Americans should be concerned with that instead of dragging up old tweets from Trump. We all know he said those things. We all know he sometimes says stupid things; and we know why.
  7. That was a screw-up on the part of the BATF. They are incompetent at interpreting the law and we all always knew that. But let those clowns make a decision gun owners agree with and when they get put in their place because they are inept it’s, “oh my gosh this is terrible”. Braces are illegal. They turn a pistol into an SBR. Will that matter? Of course not. Not until there is a reason to call on the President or Congress to fix their mistake. Only Congress should be able to make or change a law that can land you in jail if you comply with it. They even tell you their rulings don’t have the force of law, and for you to proceed at your own risk.
  8. What do you want him to do? If he said he made a terrible mistake and it was all his fault, you would have a problem with that. And what good would that do? Now its time for tough choices being made deciding between public health and our economy. People sitting on the sidelines who only contributions are ripping on Trump serve no purpose what’s ever. The Governors of each state in conjunction with our President will be making decisions that will result in the death of Americans no matter which way they go. We should all be supporting them and trying to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem. There will be plenty of time and plenty of Congressional investigations started by the likes of Pelsoi, Schiff, and Schumer, to keep you entertained for months when this is over.
  9. Absolutely, you have to be a control freak to run a manufacturing operation. I’ve known many business owners that are control freaks. Some were azzhat control freaks and some were nice guy control freaks, but all were control freaks if they had a profitable business. Most were old, and most embraced change if it helped their business, change for change sake; not so much. But keep in mind I’m talking about a manufacturing facility, not an IT company. It’s harder to find quality people, even those that will work from home, when they have to be available to come to Shelbyville, TN on a couple hour’s notice.
  10. Cool. You can tell those two are focused on their trade and not internet stars. And I mean that in a good way. Looking forward to what they post. I did hear them say “Hot Blue”. So I will be waiting to see them do a high gloss, polished, Smith & Wesson revolver.
  11. I work from home also, but I’m a part time CNC programmer; I’m overhead and they don’t absolutely need me. They must have programmers on the floor to interface with the machine set-up men and operators. Our economy is based on product being made and sold, or a service. Most of these “at home” jobs are people that in some way or another support a product being made or service being offered and are really not essential in the big picture. The other issue that I have seen too many times firsthand is that many people, especially the young, can’t work without supervision when they are in the building, let alone when they are at home. And I would bet that would be the biggest problem with "work from home".
  12. That is what Trump has said time after time. He wants this handled at the state level, but is meeting with the great minds to see what they recommend. Of course all the media, and the Trump haters is interested in doing is arguing about situations that have not taken place, and laying blame.
  13. My guess would be that those that can work from home are a miniscule percentage of the work force, and the percentage of manufacturing workers or the service industry that could do that is zero.
  14. Okay, so lets stay shut down. I have absolutely no doubt that will result in more deaths than the virus, and families left in financial ruin. But I could be wrong.
  15. No. But they are new and availability is limited. That coupled with this virus stuff will keep the price up for some time. That’s not a good internet price, but probubaly less than a local retailer would charge if they have it. MSPR is $799, so its less than that. I’m not from that area, but I would check GT Distributors. If that’s a gun he wants, don’t kid yourself, he won’t be upset.
  16. My “local internet resources” are supplied by Xfinity, not Google. So I assume this means Google is having issues with their servers.
  17. They now believe that very few people are infected with casual interaction or torching surfaces. They believe most transmissions are from extended interactions in a confined area. (Work home, school) Is that true? I have no idea. So even if schools are not started back up, but Mom and Dad are working; the chances of the kids being infected if the parents are infected are pretty good. If school resumes the chances are even greater. The CDC estimates 61,000 people died during the 2017–2018 influenza season. We didn’t shut anything down.
  18. You didn’t hurt my feelings. I’m just pointing out that if you are trying to justify killing a bunch of old people to save the economy; that won’t work. Kids are going to die, and you have to be okay with sacrificing them too. I’m not arguing with you; I’m agreeing with what you obviously want to do. I just don’t think you are being realistic or honest about the cost.
  19. You are correct. I have thought that from the beginning. We can’t keep business shut down unless we are willing to pay the ultimate price, the collapse of our economy. I suspect that death toll would far exceed the virus. I have the feeling that is what Trump and other leaders are deciding right now. First, he said he would be making an announcement on Tuesday. Yesterday he said it would be in the next few days. I assume he is coordinating with the Governors. But I don’t expect you or I to see any numbers to decide on the impact. Your decision nor mine carries any weight. BTW… I’m 65 years old and retired, so I’m one that you have already decided is useless. But the numbers absolutely don’t show that only the old will die; best of luck to you and your family. But if they have to choose between putting my health at risk and the economy collapsing; I’m okay with opening things back up.
  20. Grab a Gun is the only place I see that has them in stock. I thought $750 was high, but after looking at that Gun broker link; it doesn’t look like it. https://grabagun.com/ruger-57-pistol-5-7x28mm-20-rounds-adjustable-fiber.html HINT: If you want help finding it at a local gun store, you might want to think about putting your location (City) in your profile.
  21. I don’t think it matters as much about who is in charge as it does what happens to make it an issue. A brace is a stock, period. Whoever approved it for use by the handicapped had good intentions, but of course that’s not what its used for. I bought a pistol lower and upper separately and created an AR pistol. But of course I found it was useless without a stock, so I sold it. I didn’t want to get caught up in the “brace is a stock” drama if they outlaw them while I’m not paying attention. The lesson I learned was that I don’t need an AR Pistol. But If I ever did, I would pay the $200 tax and go with SBR.
  22. This happens occasionally. Probably not a lot based on the number of checks they do, but we have seen it here many times and there are many threads about it. Coronavirus doesn’t have anything to do with it. Other than maybe slowing down results if a lot of purchases are being made (although I don’t see how that’s possible if the claims the gun stores are cleaned out are true). An appeal usually takes less than a week. A background check and an appeal are only good for 30 days. Once you hit 30 days you will have to start the process over. You can try to call the TBI, but this is on their website:
  23. You would need to read all of Tennessee Code Title 39, Chapter 11, part 6 (601 through 622) you can start here. https://advance.lexis.com/container?config=014CJAA5ZGVhZjA3NS02MmMzLTRlZWQtOGJjNC00YzQ1MmZlNzc2YWYKAFBvZENhdGFsb2e9zYpNUjTRaIWVfyrur9ud&crid=486a1475-6178-4e11-ab3f-8f447ae44fce&prid=e8a7d5e1-15a8-4bb3-a382-7fa3e582a1ae That is unannotated and just gives you the text of the law. I have my own ideas on the use of deadly force that I believe will serve me in all 50 states, although I don’t know that, I have not researched all 50 states. This is my interpretation. I am not a lawyer, don’t play one on TV, and am not giving legal advice, just stating an opinion. I am justified in using deadly force if a reasonable person would believe I was facing an immediate threat of death, or great bodily harm, or if my intervention using deadly force was immediately needed to protect another. Also keep in mind all these people can impact your financial costs of trial and ultimately your freedom. The primary responding Police Officers, the Police Investigators (Detectives), The DA’s investigators, The DA, and ultimately the Judge or a Jury.
  24. My friend did that on his farm. But then they made him go to prison for a couple of years, and he quit.
  25. I’ve been through a lot of 22’s, so it’s hard to pick one of each. But for a rifle I’ll say my plain Jane, cheap, Remington 597 for a rifle, as it’s the most accurate .22 I have ever owned. For a handgun it would be my S&W 617. But in all fairness, I haven’t shot my Ruger Mark IV Competition yet, and probably won’t until this emergency is over.
