1. This is a guy that truly put his money where his mouth is. Would I alienate 50% of the people at my gun store? Probably not, but I sure wouldn’t turn around and leave because of this guy’s sign. Many people felt like they had been kicked in the guts when Obama was reelected. I agree fully with his statement and would fully support him.
2. While it doesn’t rise to the level of the use of deadly force; it rises to the level to justify the threat of deadly force. Could she be arrested in Tennessee for aggravated assault? Of course she could; you can be arrested for anything. But I doubt she would be. To be convicted a jury would need to believe that a man masturbating in front of a woman alone in a secluded location is not a threat.
3. I shot a bow for years. But in a SHTF scenario bows are toys that take up room that could be better used for guns and ammo. However…. Everything is application driven. If you have an application where you can get close enough to a threat to deliver a fatal hit without him shooting you to death if you miss; it might be okay. 4. I would guess someone like Wal-Mart or Kroger is in negotiations to buy the company. We will see.
5. With scope rings and bases all the fits are critical. Does your base not have slots in it that the cross screws set in so they can’t slide? If they are sliding they either don’t fit the base properly or they aren’t torqued properly. Torque is critical for fit and repeatability. If you are going to be changing scopes or working on guns a torque wrench is a must. I use a Wheeler FAT wrench. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/718023/wheeler-engineering-fat-firearm-accurizing-torque-torque-wrench-screwdriver?cm_vc=2130BrandPopProd Scope rings around Murfreesboro are hard to find, but I have had good luck in finding something to get me by at Dick’s until I can order the good stuff.
6. I’m not for or against unions; I’m just pretty sure if they were gone today we would need them back tomorrow. I haven’t done a lot of research on this but it appears everyone stood their ground and now they have to live with the results. The Company closed instead of paying and the employees chose that over going back to work. I just wonder if the people that made the decision to close the company are out of a job?
7.
Consistently shot 3-4 shot groups that you could cover with a quarter.
At what range with what glass? I bought one of these a few months ago and haven’t even shot it yet.
8.
I have been following this for a bit and have decided to add my quarter (penny thought plus inflation). My right to have my tools is a personal right guaranteed in the constitution. A business owners right to deny my rights does not trump my rights. A business owner cannot block a person from entry based on their race or other qualifiers, do why should they be able to block me entry based in my right to bear arms. What's worse is the fight to tell me what is in my car, and why? It is in my car, not yours. Unless it comes out and into play in the commission of a felony what business is it of yours? None in my opinion. Either you support the constitution in its entirety or you don't. Business owners that do not support the second amendment in its entirety receive no sympathy from me when their rights are violated or when they find themselves disarmed and then confronted by those with nefarious intent. The basic concept of the 2A is the ability to have weapons available to citizens to defend themselves. I see now I was rather long winded. I am just tired of folks trying to infringe on my rights, the ones written into the constitution, based on flawed logic that then place me at a disadvantage when my life is at risk. My rights do not trump yours and vice versa. Leave me alone about what is in my pants and I will leave you alone about what is in yours.
You have no right to be in a private business at all. A private business owner can ask you to leave and if you refuse he can call the Police and have you removed. He doesn’t have to give the cops a reason either. Being black (race) isn’t against the law; carrying a loaded gun is a crime in this state. Not only is it a crime, but civil law allows for the business owner to be sued if someone is shot by you while you are carrying your gun on his property. That is a very heavy burden you want a business owner to accept on your behalf. “Other qualifiers”, you mean like saying that you must wear a shirt and shoes, and you can’t enter with a cigarette hanging out of your mouth? What if you are carrying a five gallon can of gasoline? All those things are legal, but a business owner doesn’t have to allow those or anything else he doesn’t like including guns. We all believe that we should have a right to bear arms. But to believe that we actually have that right is preposterous. The state on Tennessee openly acknowledges that you have a right to own a gun, but you do not have a right to carry one; that is a crime. The Supreme Court of the United States is the legal interpreter of the Constitution and they agree with that. The fact that you or I have bought the privilege of an HCP doesn’t make it a right and doesn’t allow us to drive it down the throat of a business owner and call it a right. If my interpreting this (along with things like the smoking ban) as a thug government is flawed logic…. Then I’m guilty.
9. Mike, Thanks for that video. My wife was talking with her brother who will be here today and leaving on Thursday. He told her he knew how to take the cluster out and reinstall it if she could find someone to fix it while he was here. I made her watch that video so she would know removal and replacement is not an issue.
10. She needs to narrow this down. Is this a range/ home defense gun or a carry gun? If it’s a range/home defense gun let’s throw out all these little “belly guns”. If it’s a carry gun, is she going to carry a full size duty gun? concealability and caliber are critical for a carry gun.
11. Tennessee law doesn’t need to be modified; it needs to be overhauled. I can carry a gun anywhere that isn’t posted. I’m okay with paying for that and acknowledging it as a privilege and not a right. The next logical step is for the state to recognize the 2nd amendment in full as an individual right for all citizens. Let’s quit messing around with all this bickering and become the 5th state on a very short list that recognizes not only your right to “Keep” arms, but your right to “Bear” them as well. Then you could argue that your rights trump the rights of property owners as far as carry. I don’t think you would win that argument, but right now you have no chance of winning it. I never was real big on “baby steps” or dancing around the issue. Go for it all.
12. I need to find someone that can rebuild a speedometer cluster from a 2005 Suburban. I know there are plenty of places I can send it to, but I’m trying to find someone that can do it on Monday (or even today). Thanks for any help.
13. If we are going to copy another state lets copy one that recognizes a right to bear arms. Its a short list of only four states; Kentucky nor Florida are on it.
14. I refuse to support this until the state of Tennessee recognizes the right to bear arms. To say that the state won’t recognize your right but a business must is just a thug government. The government thinks they have the right to outlaw carrying loaded guns in your car for the safety of the public, but a business can’t come to the same conclusion for the safety of their employees? What a load of crap; this bill stinks and doesn’t deserve the support of gun owners, and won’t get the support of citizens.
15. Sorry, but that hate filled old man needs to do some jail time for that criminal act.
16.
This video has been removed because its content violated YouTube's terms of Service. Sorry about that.
??
17.
Someone, anyone, explain to me how removing ourselves from the United States of America will make us better. I know this is symbolic but realistically if we were allowed to secede what would we gain? Dolomite
We would gain all or industry shutting down, our banking system gone, our external food supply greatly reduced if not shut off altogether. We would not have control of TVA and would probably be without power. In short, we would be cut off from all the life sustaining supplies we need and we would either die or be forced to stop the non-sense. We live in an age on TV; not reality. Most of those suggesting this picture themselves running through the country side carry a gun and being a hero (that’s how it works on TV). Reality is most of us couldn’t run across the street let alone the country side, and most don’t have the skills to stay alive or out of the way of a bullet for more than a couple of days.
18. No “almost” to it; that is where we are now. The people with the lowest incomes just voted themselves a pay raise and free healthcare, with the rest of us paying for it. I wonder if when the rich were saying that there was only going to be two classes, rich and poor, they understood that the poor would kill and eat them?
19. For those of you who think it’s a good idea to overthrow the government, are you going to do away with voting in your new government? As much as it sickens me this man was elected by a popular vote of the people. Quit whining and feeling sorry for yourself and get involved in getting a candidate ready for the next election that can win. It’s a better plan than the one you are contemplating.
20.
I can tell you now that you won't be defending them from Republicans.
Terrorists and traitors don’t get to be Republicans or Democrats; they are just terrorists and traitors. But most of the nut cases I see talking about taking up arms against other Americans claim to either be Republicans or some lame azz 3rd party. But it doesn’t matter what they claim to be; they aren’t Americans once they try to overthrow our country by force; they are “domestic enemies”.
21.
I would like it to be known that many years ago I swore an oath to protect this country against ALL enemies foreign and domestic. There are millions more like me. Wanting to destroy OUR country because you didn't get your way in a election is STUPID! Don't bite off more than you can chew!
Yep and they won't be dead martyrs or Patriots; they will just be dead terrorists. I took the oath, and if you want to change my country you will do it at the polling place because if you try it by force you will lose.
22.
My point is simply that it would send a message if 26x25000 (650000) people showed their dissatisfaction.
Last Tuesday 59 MILLION people got off their azz and went to a polling place to show their dissatisfaction. They showed ID and signed their real names with their real addresses. It made no difference. What makes you think 650K people doing nothing more than clicking on a web link would send any kind of a message or that anyone would care? There isn’t going to be any secession by any state. Our government is not going to be overthrown by any radical forces because it is protected by Patriots. The only way you are going to change our government is at the polling place. Many of the middle class is too busy or too indifferent to vote. The poor and those living off the government are voting and they are voting for bigger monthly checks and free healthcare. Internet petitions are a joke.
23.
Care to cite a source for that information?
I just did a Google news search when I saw that the woman said the PD refused to take her complaint. I figured that was BS. You don’t refuse to take a citizens complaint; you might mark it “unfounded”, but you don’t refuse to take one. I’m not sticking up for the cop; it was a stupid thing to do. But it was a violation or it wasn’t. If it was a violation there is nothing to investigate; if it wasn’t then I would guess there will be some disciplinary action with some training.
24. The woman lied. She said the Police Department refused to take her complaint; that is an outright lie. Investigators took a complaint and interviewed both her and her daughter. The Chief of Police stopped by her house, apologized to her and told her the charges were dropped and he opened an investigation into the incident. What more could anyone possibly ask for? Will they fire the cop? Of course they won’t; it doesn’t rise nearly to that level. But he may you more discretion next time.
25. I don’t put a phone number in my ad’s and I won’t mess with replying to those that requires you to call them. I would much rather deal with silly emails than have stupid people or scammers calling me all day. When I see them say they don’t respond to emails I assume its people data mining and pass it up. I’m sure we could all tell stories all day long about the ignorant stuff we have seen in gun sale transactions.
