1. The FED wouldn’t need to take action or do anything; other than sadly watch a state commit economic suicide. Then we would all have to bear the burden of cleaning up the mess. Luckily you can’t get that many fools in one state.
 2.
US vs Thompson Arms, really? Heh, heh ... if the ATF was worried about switching around stock/barrel combinations on a single shot rifle back then (I seriously doubt a Contender was ever used in a crime scene), I bet they're really concerned about those shorty AR barrels!
What are you trying to say? Do you think if you walk past an ATF agent with an illegal gun thrown over your shoulder and he sees you trying to sell it; he will just let you go with a warning? That’s a pretty big risk someone is taking if they are wrong.
 3.
Not because I believe in the whole secession issue, but purely to stir the pot: If Tennessee seceded, independent of the surrounding states, the Tennessee Navy would become important, maintaining freedom of navigation on the Mississippi River. That means Memphis remains an important riverport, as well as Clarksville and Nashville. Of course, we'd still have to worry about Vicksburg, and New Orleans . . . The Confederacy of 1861-1865 had a chance until Nashville fell. It started going downhill from there.
Okay, I'll play also. UPS, FedEx, and the USPS stop deliveries and moves out. All Federal Offices close and all Federal support stops. Production at all major manufacturing facilities comes to a halt. Nissan, Volkswagen, Bridgestone, Vought Aircraft, GM Spring Hill, just to name a few of the hundreds. HCA shuts down and the County Music Industry moves to LA or New York. The U.S. Department of Energy shuts down Oak Ridge. TVA has a big problem. I suspect the FEDS will take them over and call it National Security. Oh and by the way, what makes you think you are going to have anything to say about travel on the Mississippi, and who is paying for the Navy you are talking about? Of course if you own your land outright, don’t need a job, and you picture yourself living off your land; none of this matters.
 4.
There are millions of reasons this wouldn't fly.
Exactly. The biggest reason being neither the people of Tennessee nor any other state are going to go for it. These are just people that are upset with what happened. I’m upset also, but I know why it happened; it’s what the people that voted wanted. There is no going back. We aren’t our founding founders and they were never so arrogant they expected us to be. They gave us a base to work from and told us to try to not mess it up. They gave us a way to handle what we perceive as violations of the Constitution and that is the way they are handled today. We survived a Civil war, two World Wars, nuclear bombs, jet aircraft, ballistic submarines, and computers. Those things all change how we operate. I don’t give a rolling rip down a razor blade what Thomas Jefferson or Ben Franklin had to say about National Security; we do what we have to do. We are operating under a different set of circumstances than they were. We have ways to fix these problems. But signing a secession petition is like a little kid whining when they don’t get their way. Put your shoes on and go home and cry; but stay out of the way of those that are trying to actually do something fix the problem.
 5.
What are your comments on buying one?
I would love to have a cowboy gun for nothing more than a range toy. My problem is that I want my copy of a SAA to be DA. Unfortunately the only manufacturers that do that are foreign; so not an option for me. I keep hoping Ruger will do the Vaquero in DA, but I’m not holding my breath because I’m sure they would take a lot of heat.
 6. That situation has been to the SCOTUS (United States v. Thompson-Center Arms Company) and the BATF has written interpretations available on it.
 7. I have the Kahr all stainless MK40. I also have the M&P Shield. I prefer the Shield for a sub-compact. But if size is not an issue I carry my full size M&P 40. 15 rounds of 40S&W is pretty hard to beat. (Mine are all 40, but they also make them in 9. They are the same size, just less effective. ) My S&W 2.5" Model 66 in .357MAG is all metal. So is my S&W model 36 in .38 SPECIAL. S&W use to make the J-frame in 9mm but they are hard to find. I think the SP101 is offered in 9, isn't it? All depends on your application.
 8. You mean I have to pay for this junk? I’m the Vice President of the United States!
 9. I’m curious also… is Christmas not celebrated in Tennessee schools? Please forgive my ignorance on the subject, my kids are adults. I’m glad to see that they can now suspend a kid at the whim of school officials even if there is no policy violation. The custodian is a school official….right?
 10.
My topsecret clearance expired back in the 90's.
Why did you have a “Top Secret Clearance”?
 11. Gun control (Not this administration) Medical marijuana Obama Care Stopping states from enforcing immigration laws
 12.
All we want to do is go in peace and form a separate county of sovereign states and start over. We would be glad to develop treaties, trade policies, send ambassadors even share some of our natural resources with our former motherland, but the freedom and liberty of our citizens is not negotiable.
Who is “We”, where are you going, and what “natural resources” do you have? I’m sure the idea of simply bailing out and starting over is attractive to a lot of people; but it doesn’t fix the problems.
 13. Its ignorance and hate on the part of most of the people that attack that flag. Its ignorance and distortion of facts that they teach in the schools today that the Civil war was fought over slavery. When I was in school they taught that it was fought over States Rights. Did something change between now and 50 years ago? Of course it did. Its hate in that many people see that flag as a sign of racism because many people fly that flag as a sign of racism. Does that mean we shouldn’t be allowed to fly it? It’s coming to that. I was born 100 miles from the Capitol of the Confederacy, and if I had been alive at the time of the war I would have fought on the side of the south. However, I get tired of the ignorant people that think because I moved here from Illinois I am a Yankee. I am not apologizing, make no mistake about it, the North is my home and it’s hopefully where I will return to retire. The war is over, and it has been for 147 years; the South lost, get over it. But none of us alive today fought in that war. Anyone that pays any attention to my posts knows that I am an unyielding defender of States Rights to the point where as I have said many times States Rights trumps the 2[sup]nd[/sup] Amendment, has since the civil war, and there isn’t any other way the SCOTUS can rule than the way they are now. The South may have lost the war, but they made sure no one wants to fight that war again. It was because of this we have the States Rights we have today. All Confederate flags are part of history. They can be flown proudly. The people that don’t want them flown, and the people that make their dumbazz remarks about “Yankees” are both showing their ignorance.
 14. Nothing new here. The SCOTUS already split the baby in half. You have a right to keep arms, but the state will determine where and when you can bear them. They really can’t rule any other way.
 15.
Where in the world could we find an unclaimed land to start over? Please don't say Antarctica
I don’t know, but if you are one of those that want to overthrow a government by force you might want to investigate alternatives. Because trying it here won’t end well for you. Your pictures certainly won’t end up on currency anywhere.
 16. If that is real....18-24 is not a “Youth Army” and they are not “Kids” . At 17 I was active duty in the Navy during Vietnam, by 24 I had done 4 years active duty, a year in the ANG and was a full time Police Officer. Where is all this money to start a new “Obama Police Force” coming from?
 17.
Me and Buster Dawg after our IED test...we're done!
That's funny, I don't care who you are.
 18. Our founding Fathers didn’t try to overthrow the English government or take over England. If they had they would have been killed and many of you wouldn’t be here; you would still be in England. They decided to start a new government in a new land. Those that talk of overthrowing our government by force or taking up arms are talking about doing it here. It will not end for them anywhere close to the way it did for our founding Fathers.
 19. Her statements in that story remind me of when the guy went around the Democratic National Convention and was asking people if they thought corporations should have limits on profits. Sorry she lost her son. We are going to pay for two of the loans; she will need to find a different source for the third.
 20.
Really? Who thinks that? I still don't understand what being a cop has to do with him helping a homeless man. How do we know he didn't do it because he's a compassionate human being?
For the same reason that when someone does something either incredibly stupid or incredibly amazing, the headline will say they are a military veteran; they are trying to make a point. Just like you are trying to make a point.
 21. What are these "Iron Sights" you speak of? Is that something they used in the olden days?
 22. There is absolutely nothing but theories on this. Every parent has the responsibility to handle it the way they see fit as they have the ultimate responsibility and liability. If you have firearms in your home you must make sure your children are properly trained and accessed is controlled. If someone gets shot or a gun ends up in a kids hands when it shouldn’t be….. You failed.
 23.
I have read several stories about this incident and what is clear about it is, the security guard and employees violated Walmarts policy on handling a shoplifter, the guard put the shoplifter in a choke hold, when real police arrived they found the man unconscience and bleeding from the nose and mouth then was pronounced dead a short time later. Sure sounds like the guard went way too far in subduing someone who lifted a few CD's. I guess I just happen to actually care about a persons constitutional rights, and yes, even a common thief still has some constitutional rights left, at least not to be mishandled to the point of death by a private security guard who apparently had little or poor training. It's obvious a few here have their panties in a wad because I cared about the dead mans rights which makes me wonder how much they really care about someones constitutional rights. Anyway, I stand by what I believe regardless of what a anyone else believes and i'm not going to apologize for it.
What about the Constitutional Rights of the guy being punched in the face? The guy didn’t get killed for stealing DVD’s he got killed because he had to be forcibly restrained because he was committing a battery. Wal-Mart may have a store policy that you have to crower and run away when a violent criminal attacks you; but thankfully that has no bearing on criminal law.
 24.
I'm wanting a base station. I want one that two years from now I don't say, "crap...I wish I would have bought this one instead."
You will always be changing radios. It’s always good to state a price range. Are you ready to jump in with a $2K radio? There are some really nice old HF radios out there that don’t cost a lot. If you are running a base I would first be concerned with a good tower set-up. You need to think about how tall it will be, will it be a hinged tower or will you be able to climb it when you want to change or add antennas? A quality tower is a pretty significant cost but needs to be done first.
 25.
A man DIED over a couple of hundred dollars worth of electronics.
No he died because he attacked a store manager trying to stop him. This quit being about shoplifting and started being about violence when the thief started punching the store Manager in the face. Will the employees be charged criminally? Not likely. Not many DA’s are going to want to charge honest citizens with killing a dirt bag that violently attacked a store manager while trying to escape. Will there be a civil suit? Of course there will be; Wal-Mart is involved. Some of the deepest pockets in the country and a company that is easy for a jury to hate. I would guess the lawyers are circling the family’s house now. Will there be a trial? Doubtful, the attorney will cut a sweetheart deal for himself with a settlement and Wal-Mart will pay for a nuisance suit to go away.
