Virginia Governor Signs 5 Anti-Gun Bills into Law
DaveTN replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You’d just have worse. Who is going to give up a good career in their prime for a fixed four-year stint in politics? No one, other than losers that don’t have anything to give up. I think it’s reasonable to limit the President’s term. But other than that, I should be able to vote for whoever I want to represent me. But I get it, anything against politicians must be good. We'll show them. -
I haven’t done any video chatting in years. It was Skype back then and it wasn’t very reliable. I’m thinking about doing this with family members. I would need video chatting multiple users across Android, PC, and iOS at the same time. What do you guys like?

Virginia Governor Signs 5 Anti-Gun Bills into Law
DaveTN replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
VA Governors can only serve one term. So, they don’t really care what anyone thinks; they can’t be reelected. I’ve never understood how anyone can think term limits is a good idea. -
TN Concealed Handgun Licenses with Covid-19 Outbreak
DaveTN replied to 4Freedom's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Congrats on getting your permit. You have an EHCP (Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit), not a CHL. If it’s not expired I don’t know why you would need to renew it. You would need to have proof of residence in Tennessee to use it. You can renew it up to one renewal cycle without having to take the test again. -
Exactly. Or it will get you an offer. Also, it’s not unusual to see a range like $400-$600 or $800-$1200 for the same gun, in the same condition. Condition is a big factor. Another forum member and I were talking about a gun that was described as “excellent” that was anything but. That’s why unless it’s a current gun that’s “like new” I try to use quality pictures. Just because a gun old, doesn’t mean it can be in crappy condition and passed off as “excellent” because of its age. I was a very good-looking young man, but no one describes me as “very good looking for his age”. If you have a guy that wants a blue S&W Model 19 because that’s the gun he carried when he first became a cop, or a Model 15 because that’s what he carried as an MP, he’s going to value that at a value higher than most forum members would be willing to pay. If you have a guy trying to pass off a 686 Post lock for $800 because that’s what pre-locks are bringing, he may get it if he finds someone that doesn’t know that is more than new, and the prices he is checking it against are pre-locks. I figure that if my gun doesn’t sell within 2 weeks on here; my price is too high. So, I pull them or reduce my price. GB adds a lot of cost with shipping and transfers. Not much was selling prior to this virus, it was a real buyers’ market.

That quite a diverse list of services; good for her. That’s also a good-looking web site. I was surprised to see the “Powered by GoDaddy Website Builder” at the bottom.

I have no idea, but it was big. Maybe the mic or controller for his radio? He got an “Officer needs assistance” call out, because you hear the guy filming say “Oh, I hear more cops”.

I’m talking in general. 61,000 people died in the U.S. of the flu during the 2017-2018 Flu Season. That’s twice the deaths we have right now from Covid19. Yes, I understand it’s a shorter period, but I would suspect tens of thousands of the deaths we are seeing now are something other than Covid19. Why would a test showing negative on a sick person be assumed to be a false negative? Could it not be they are dying from something that is not Covid19?

What are the laws in TN about Outdoors target practicing?

That's what I do anymore. But I have to drive to Illinois to do it. -
How do they know if they have a false positive or false negative?

Don’t want to be mean, but no one could put a value on your gun with those pictures. What would you say the condition of your gun is? Do you have the original box and paperwork? What are people that have seen the gun telling you the value is? If you gun is average, with no box, I would say $500-$600 if you found someone that wanted a 9mm. I’m assuming you don’t have a box and paperwork because you don’t have moon clips. I’m also assuming its in average condition. It is somewhat rare, but without the box and documentation, and without being in excellent condition, it probably won’t get the attention of someone wanting it for collectability and willing to pay those $800-$900 prices. Gun Broker only shows 5 9mm complete auctions. Three of those had no bids because the starting price was too high. The two that sold were really nice with boxes and documentation. Starting bid 895 sold for 895 (1 bid), Stainless, 2.75” The description say “Very good to excellent” the pictures show it is in excellent condition, has box, paperwork and moon clips. Starting bid 700 sold for 810 (3 bidders), Blue, Like New, the pictures reflect that, has box, moon clips and paperwork. These did not sell, even though 2 of the three were excellent. 950 no bids, Did not sell, Stainless, 2.75” The description say “Very nice condition” the pictures reflect that, no box. 800 no bids, Did not sell, Stainless, 2.75” The description says 99% with no box, the pictures reflect that. 850, no bids, Did not sell, Blue, 2.75” The description says “gently used”, the pictures show it is rough. No box.

I have seen a lot of trees taken down. but it wasn’t until last month I saw this done. Trees next to my BIL’s house were taken down totally using a Cherry Picker with a 64ft reach. No ropes or rigging. Three guys on the ground were cutting up the logs and putting them on a trailer. I suspect this was pretty expensive. Tennessee doesn’t regulate tree removal on private property. Check with your insurance agent to see if your homeowner’s insurance covers any damage someone does. Or ask them for recommendations.

Of course not. I think Rutherford County would be the best obvious choice. -

I keep saying we need to all get together and buy a piece of property 50 yards wide and 1000 yards long. -
I can’t. Digital cameras weren’t in common use back then.

They are laws local to your county or city. Most cities have laws against discharging a firearm in the city limits. Noise laws, and reckless conduct laws could also come into play depending on the situation. As a former Police Officer I would recommend you go talk to one of the Command Officers at the HQ of whatever department would respond to a shots fired, or illegal shooting call. You could call, but you would probably just talk to a civilian dispatcher or clerk. If you go on someone else’s property you would have to have their permission to shoot. -
I did when I was reading his Wikipedia page.

I agree. I can think of two Democrats that could probably give Trump a run for his money. But they aren’t running….yet. Gun control would be a major stumbling block for any democrat wanting that middle ground.
