  1. Prior to these incidents I looked at reloading every way from Sunday and couldn’t see any savings. I thought about it again, but should price fixing or taxes become common place; you can bet the reloaders will be included.
  2. In theory ...maybe.   The Supreme Court is the final word on interpretations of the Constitution. In reality they aren’t accountable to Congress or the people. If Congress doesn’t like their rulings they have to change the law or the Constitution.   As far as being accountable to the people that is laughable. I doubt most people agree with the SCOTUS on their Eminent Domain decision. But there is nothing that can be done.
  3. I heard that! (And I didn’t even have to look that up.)
  4. Put people in a car at 80MPH and then let them talk on a cell phone; you will hit that 1000 mark every year. I had to laugh when I saw the “Top Ten Traffic Safety Laws for TN Visitors”; number 5 is “Handgun Carry Permit Law”. http://www.tn.gov/safety/top10tnlaws.shtml
  5. They have someone to blame.....the chick that bought the guns for him. But now they are looking for a way to keep people from lying. (They don’t like it when the person at fault is dead and they can’t do anything to them)
  6. The Supreme Court of the United States disagrees. Under this great system we have their opinions carry the full weight of law; hers did not.
  7. “In the most corrupt state are the most laws” I had to look that up, thought I would save others the time.
  8. Advocate anarchy if you want, but just remember there are two sides. Once that line has been drawn people have to choose sides.
  9. I didn’t mean to imply that he was. I was simply stating that as long as this is America (and it still is the America I was raised in, and am proud of) there will be no unlawful action against our government. I probably should stay out of this, but when someone goes into a demeaning tirade against my country and my fellow Americans it’s hard to do.
  10. I am not weak or a slave. I will not need to live off the grid and I would be a very hard person to kill face to face. I am an American Patriot. I am one of the few that will help fix the problem. Instead of crying and stomping your feet like a little kid, calling us names, and disrespecting our Nation Anthem; work towards something constructive. Many of the American people are still Patriots. We will work towards changing our government through legal means. We are the people you will face should you try to over throw our government by force.
  11. I didn’t mean to imply you have. I have let people go on weapons charges, and other charges as well. It was my discretion if I felt an arrest was warranted or if I didn’t feel there was criminal intent. It’s the investigating Officers decision, He shouldn’t be charged because we don’t agree with what he has to say. If the DC Police have a hard line, no discretion policy on hi-cap magazines and arrest every person they come in contact with that has one, then yes he should be arrested and the DA can decide whether or not what he was told was a factor. As Mike said above, the law is ridiculous no matter who breaks it.
  12. So if a Tennessee cop decides to let you go on a weapons violation, that’s okay, but because he’s on TV he should be charged?
  13. Also on that page, take a few minutes to watch Michelle Malkins. "VIDEO: MICHELLE MALKINS RIPS LIBS FOR THEIR KNEE-JERK GUN CONTROL PUSH"
  14. Do you know that to be true? Other sources say the DC Police told NBC no, and the BATF told them it was okay. They should have gone by what the DC Police told them, but I could understand the confusion if a Federal BATF agent said something else. I would guess David Gregory talked to none of these people and did whatever the producers told him. Sorry, but I don’t want to see someone arrested on weapons charges just because their views are different than mine. I'm curious to see David Gregory's response to all this.... has he made one yet?
  15. My point is that gun control, either way, has absolutely no impact on crime. It’s an argument I don’t want to have to make. I don’t hunt; it’s an argument I don’t want to have to make. We are at a time when we need to deal with the facts. Blaming Chicago’s gun laws for their murder rate is as much BS as blaming the availability of guns in Memphis for almost the same murder rate. I need to be able to defend myself and my family in the event of an economic collapse. And the crime rate of cities with gun restrictions vs. those without, or whether or not I kill animals for sport has zero to do with that.
  16. No one is going to be elected on gun issues. The last election was all about the economy; gun control was so far behind it couldn’t see tail lights anymore. Abortion laws and gun control have little meaning if your economy collapses. So, what are you going to do to fix the economy and put Americans back to work? I have the answers, but I wouldn’t be able to get elected on this forum let alone out in the real world. All anyone cares about is price and they don’t care who the sell-out or walk over to get it; including the future of their kids. So if you want to run for office…… start a thread and take the floor, we will all listen.

    Price police??

Those people are criminals, as are the people running a part time gun business in the classifieds. We know who they are it wouldn’t take a real sharp BATF agent to figure out who they are. It happens all the time. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to donate to their legal defense fund…. Would you?
  18. Copy and pasted from another thread..... I go to Chicago all the time without a gun and feel as safe as I can feel in a big city. You don’t have to drive through the ghetto to get to downtown Chicago. I would never go to Memphis without a gun; I got my HCP because of a trip to Memphis. Besides… the restaurants and night life of Chicago is some of the best in the country. Please don’t try to blame crime on gun legislation all a person has to do is point at Memphis to prove that’s BS.
  19. Feinstein can’t be impeached for doing her job. The SCOTUS is the final interpreters of the Constitution and they have given the states almost free rein on what they will allow in their states. A petition from gun owners to impeach Feinstein make us appear clueless.   If you believe those petitions make any difference; start one to ban any type of gun control and post the link on gun forums. You will have the required number of votes in a couple of hours. See how that works.

    Price police??

I agree, but I also hate to see a member get ripped off. We have all seen guns get listed above retail and then another member post “That is a great price”. The only way guns are going to sell for more than retail (other than in a panic situation like what we have now) is if the buyer is a convicted felon, someone who cannot legal buy a gun (illegal immigrant) or someone that doesn’t know the market.   I know that the buyer is responsible, but I think we should be able to comment when a member is trying to rip other members off, without getting banned. That’s just my opinion; I know the owners sets the rules, that’s just one I would like to see him reconsider.
  21. Although I don’t think the government will have much luck banning guns, I think the ammo tax will rise if we allow it. I was in Illinois last week and saw that a pack of Cigarettes was $6.50. That’s almost all tax. They can do that for two reasons. One, because no one wants to stand up for smokers, on the contrary they want to ban them from all public places. Two, because poor people are the main group of smokers. Smokers are a larger group than permit holders and are probably as big as those that actively use firearms. Many people want to ban us from public places also; do you think we will see the unrestricted taxation of ammo we have seen with cigarettes? BTW…. I drove deep into the heart of Illinois carrying 20 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammo. We had a great time.
  22. The gun sites I know of are still there. Who has been “purged”?
  23. Apparently DC Police are investigating the incident. Will it help us for David Gregory to be arrested and charged? Absolutely not. I hope the Police use their discretion and decide not to pursue this; that would be my choice if I were the investigating Officer. http://www.tmz.com/2012/12/26/meet-the-press-david-gregory-dc-police-atf-gun-magazine/
  24. I doubt very many people are getting “racked” into buy a $5K 1911. I would have to laugh out loud if someone priced a 1911 to me at $5K. But I guess if you have $5K to blow, and you think spending $5K will make you a better shot than spending 1K on a 1911, that is certainly your right…. isn’t it?   Range memberships are simple math. Look at the “walk on” price multiplied by how many times a year you would use it and you have your answer. The math doesn’t work for me so I don’t have a membership, but I’m sure it works for the shooters that say they shoot twice a week.   Also, if someone can justify the cost of a membership, their yearly ammo cost has to be staggering in comparison to the range fees.   We all have choices. I can go to Terry Waldens outdoor range for $5 a day (someone said it has went up to $10), if I want to shoot indoors I can go to On-Target and pay $20 a day, or if I want a longer, better lit range I can go to Nashville Armory and pay $20 an hour.  Those are my choices. I usually shoot outside, I have shot at indoor ranges, but I’ll never pay $20 an hour. I am not the clientele they are looking for at their range, but I have bought a gun from them.   You are right, shooting should be affordable. It should also be affordable for a kid to go to a football game; but unfortunately due to greed in both industries nether are.
