  1. I don’t think manufacturers are hording, distributors might be, I don’t know. None of the manufacturers (as far as I know) raised their prices last time; it was distributors and dealers that gouged us.   We know for sure this demand will end. It will either end with these guns being banned, or it will end because no gun control passes. Either way the manufacturers can’t justify buying new equipment and training people when they know they won’t need them in the long run.
  2. Oh you can rest assured that this is about a gun ban. They do not want you to be able to buy these guns or even own them. The NFA (or registration) is only “plan B” if they can’t get your guns.
  3. I want mine to say “We will not comply”… that’s fact. “We the people will not comply” is fiction. I'm just sayin'..... I'm sure we are going to see a million of these in the coming days. I'm keeping my eye out for what is going to look good embroidered on the back of a jacket. Something like that wrapped in an American flag would be cool.
  4. I wonder if I had that embroidered real big on the back of a jacket and went to the Murfreesboro mall I would be asked to leave?
  5. “We the people will not comply” implies something that probably won’t happen. “We will not comply” is something that will happen. Just my 2 cents.

    Why I Fight

Not the speedway bomber, he was never deployed.
  7. I saw a version of that that just said “We will not comply”, is that available?
  8. So if a thief steals my gun and commits a crime you want to put me in jail? But you want to hold me responsible for someone else committing a crime?
  9. Armed organized resistance means the end of our country. It means American against American, just like what happened in the civil war. It means the end of your job, businesses closing, manufacturing stopping, and the economy collapsing.   Unlike the civil war, the government has Homeland Security, surveillance technology that that can easily locate you, the ability to identify you and label you as a terrorist through the media, and plenty of people that will be more than willing to turn you in or shoot you on sight.   We have people that think they will be traipsing around in the woods living off the land, carrying a gun and high fiving each other. Nothing could be farther from the truth.   You can try to make it sound nice if you want, but “Armed Organized Resistance” is just another name for a terrorist that would take up arms against other Americans. It’s been suggested or implied many times here and the people that think that is the answer worry me more than anything the government could do.
  10. You are correct, you will never see your rights to carry anything you want anytime you want; unless your state decides to go that route. Between the time the 2nd amendment was written and now; we fought a war over that. States’ Rights trump the 2nd amendment. Now you can be appalled at that statement if you want, but the SCOTUS split the baby in half with Heller and McDonald. You have an individual right to keep arms, but the State will determine when and where you bear them. Other than ruling it was not and individual right; it was the only choice they had. They could have ruled that everyone could strap on a gun, but they knew they couldn’t enforce it; the 2nd amendment would have been repealed.
  11. What are you going to try to pass? Other than machine guns any state that wants to can acknowledge the 2nd amendment as an individual right. It’s the state of Tennessee that chooses not to.
  12. Trust me, I’ll cross over to the other side if it happens; but it ain’t happening. I haven’t mailed my letters yet; I can’t decide that they are done. We need to get all the gun forums together and attempt to have the letters all hit DC on the same day.
  13. I obviously have more faith in our government than many here. But it’s what we have to work with. I’m surfing the forum as I am cleaning guns and putting away the ammo I didn’t shoot during my trip to Illinois, and wondering how you think I am going to be caught unprepared. I'm tempted to post a picture; but I won't.
  14. I would agree with that assessment. If someone like Feinstein can get a bill passed that requires registration or results in confiscation and those laws are upheld by the SCOTUS; our form of government has failed. But until that happens I refuse to run around yelling the sky is falling. We have a system of government with checks and balances; they President can’t do anything he wants. Let’s see if it works.   Other than write letters, send emails, and try to get others to do the same; there really isn’t anything we can do until the next election.
  15. Nevermind... not what I thought it was.
  16. Yes, it’s still tinfoil. I was being factious.   Is Dianne Feinstein going to take my guns away? No, and you would need a tinfoil hat screwed on pretty tight to think she would be allowed to run amuck and do it. I have some faith left in our elected officials.   Could I be wrong, sure; but I don’t think I am. If I am wrong I will be the first to acknowledge your vision and apologize for ever questioning you.
  17. And I just want you all to know I brought this back with me from Illinois. Happy New Year!
  18. Every bill has to have associated costs listed. Putting them on the NFA list would require a whole new bureaucracy with a big price tag. I don’t think in these economic times that will fly. Yes you did. But we killed him remember? Well, actually he killed himself, but you get the idea.
  19. Well so far I get to keep my Garand and my 700 VLS in 308. Every other gun I have other than my Panther is (IMO) way down on the list of powerful guns. But then again, neither of them are black.
  20. I’m saying that if you had a shooter in position with a bolt action 308 with a high power scope it is probable that every shot would be a kill. Yes, he would be much scarier than a nut case with an AR or AK that I could engage and kill.
  21. Unless someone declares Federal Martial Law how are you going to get around Posse Comitatus?
  22. I make the point all the time, no matter who I am talking to that I don’t hunt and I don’t kill animals for sport; that shouldn’t be a requirement for my families protection.   But I doubt many hunters are standing on the side lines thinking this will not impact them. I would much rather face a shooter with an AK than a shooter with a scoped Remington 700.   The only “Military” weapon Charles Whitman had was an M1 Carbine, but I would bet his scoped Remington 700 “hunting rifle” did much more damage than the M1.
  23. It won’t pass but even if it did they are grandfathered; there will NEVER be cops driving around collecting guns.
  24. Did I miss the M1 Garand?
