  1. You can shoot mine anytime you like.
  2. No where near the recoil of a 30-06 bolt. Just a little more than a .223 AR. I just don’t see it as an issue.
  3. You are correct, but you have to choose. The chances of having a mass shooting at your kid’s school are probably less likely than you winning Powerball. That won’t help if your child is killed.   I think the answer is to remove the gun free zone status. However I am absolutely sure that will not ever happen; the parents won’t stand for it. They also won’t stand for untrained people carrying guns around their kids. So it’s either pay the money to have trained professionals, get those teachers that are willing the best training available in their area, or do nothing.
  4. Look at 1000 yard bench rest shooters and what they use. You can’t drop $2K on a Leupold or Night force and get a bad scope. At that point your skills are more the determining factor than the equipment.   You can’t buy a one mile man sized kill shot no matter how much money you spend. (Unless you hire someone to do it for you)   I see you are in Murfreesboro, Terry Waldens place in Manchester is 300 meters; try that and see how things work out.
  5. I just shoot 50-100 rounds from my 700 VLS 308 first, and then my Panther 308 feels like a pellet gun.
  6. Wow! I’m getting closer and closer to all Smith & Wesson all the time. Wonder if the price will be crazy like some of the other 308's? Might be time for the DPMS 308 to go on the block.
  7. Not at all. I’m saying that if she has a handicap that keeps her from handling an acceptable self-defense round she is not a good choice. My friend’s wife could not pass the HCP shooting qualification. They let her come back and she used a .22 pistol with a scope. Would you want to allow someone like that to carry around your kid? I wouldn’t. We have seen all kinds of horror stories on here from things people have seen in HCP classes. HCP is a joke, but if teachers want to meet the same shooting requirements required for their cops; I think they should be considered. The gun free zone is never going to happen in schools; it just isn’t.
  8. You were muzzle sweeping people while you were standing in line at a store. Not only is that ignorant; it’s dangerous. They may be safe in the hands of law abiding citizen’s; but obviously not yours. Try not to help until you get a clue.
  9. There is a two class system in all states; LEOSA. Tennessee has three classes; HCP holders, Citizens, and those covered under LEOSA.
  10. I bought several guns from Buds, never called anyone, ordered on-line, had immediate email confirmation and all guns were here in 3-4 days. I was overcharged by $30 once. Handled it through email and they refunded it to my card and apologized for the mistake.   However, we are getting some new dealers in the MidState area and my last two purchases have been from forum dealers that gave me a better price than Buds (Not counting tax of course). Competition is a good thing for us. I usually ordered from Buds because I couldn’t get what I wanted locally, but it seems they are stocking more inventory lately.   I’m sure all the on-line stuff will be crazy until the Obama/Biden gun laws shake out.
  11. I disagree, if she can’t handle a quality firearm she needs to sit this out. I don’t see this happening, but I would support it if the teachers were required to pass the same qualifications the cops in their area are required to pass. I think that is fair, and I don’t think it will be accepted by the parents any other way.   There are HCP holders that couldn’t hit the side of a barn if they were standing inside it. These are not the people we want in high stress, adrenalin charged situation firing a gun. They may be “better than nothing” but fortunately that is not what we are faced with. I think there will be teachers that would step up and participate in the required training/qualifications
  12. Clear, sunny and low 50’s…. get out there.
  13. If you want a low cost 223, I would look at the Mossberg MVP. Also uses AR mags. I’ve only shot mine a little, but looks good so far.  .223 is lower cost center fire trigger time and can still a decent distance. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/79795/Mossberg+MVP+VAR+20%22+MED+BULL+FLUTED+223+LAM+10RD   In 308 I would look at the Remington 700. I’m a firm believer in the heavy barrels.   This is a good option in a heavy barrel at a decent cost. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/41046/Remington+700+SPS+Synthetic+VAR+308+26   If price isn’t a big issue this is a tack driver. (But it’s heavy) http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/97499/Remington+700+VLS+.308+Varmint+Laminated   Long rage shooting is 50% gun and 50% glass.   I don’t know if Dicks is still selling guns, but around this time of year they run a Remington 700 with a cheap scope on sale for around $449. I looked at it in the store, but I had already bought mine. I think this would be an excellent deal.
  14. Blood soaked into the wood.
  15. My avatar photo was gone and I had to reload it. Was it a software issue?
  16. I didn’t get the humor, maybe if I had seen other videos of his? But I know you need a microphone windscreen.
  17. Has Metro made any comments about carrying? What’s the parking situation, I have never been there.
  18. He was convicted of assault for attacking someone, ordered to pay $40K in medical bills and a $Mil in damages, and was disbarred. Now he wants to be Virginia’s AG. Of course he was born into politics in D.C.; so I'm sure he sees no problem with what he did or what he wants to do. http://dailycaller.com/2011/12/20/politician-responsible-for-brutal-assault-may-run-for-va-attorney-general/
  19. You forgot "Tax". They also want to tax us.   Just like cigarette smokers, make us appear evil and ignorant and it’s okay to tax us.
  20. No word on how it got it in? I’m guessing he walked in with it.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OhXLcQ2EV0
  21. Good for you. It gets old seeing those who are doing it call it free enterprise.
  22. It can’t be enforced. But it is taking action. It lets the President know that the state legislature does not support this action, but more importantly it will let the SCOTUS know where the states stand when they are looking at all these cases.   I support this bill. However, I do not support arresting Federal agents and would do anything I could to help get them released. This is about unlawful legislation and executive orders, if you can’t arrest Obama or impeach him; you can’t arrest them. Obama is not a fugitive or protected from the legislative branch of government. I refuse to let him turn Americans against Americans. If he committed a crime get a warrant or impeach him, but leave that non-sense out about arresting Federal agents.
  23. 50% of the 2nd amendment has been settled in the last couple of years. You have an individual right to keep arms. However, that can be infringed upon and Obama and Biden are about to show us just how much. You do not have a right to bear arms; that will be controlled by the state. So much for “shall not be infringed”.
  24.     Two defendants already pled guilty for a deal. Three out four people headed for prison; sounds like they had a pretty good case, doesn’t it?
