I’m pretty sure if someone was willing to kill you, as in the case of Lanza, they could make you open your safe.

As long as guns and ammunition is made DHS could seize whatever government agencies need. It would just hurt us and put manufacturers out of business. Isn’t that what the haters want anyway?

Wow, that’s the first school district I have heard of that has their own Police Department.

I don’t care if they are F-16’s, they wander over to Israel and they will be taken out. I wonder how Lockheed feels about supporting them, or what would happen if they refuse.   Obama wants to cut our military in an effort to balance the budget, but then helps maintain Egypt’s military. This also puts more technology in the hands of countries that will try to use it against us.   This is just another act that supports my feelings that this man is doing everything he can to destroy America and alienate us from our allies.

I don’t think you will find many top law dogs that will play “What if”. However, refusal to enforce the laws you swore to uphold could be construed as “Malfeasance in office” and could get them booted. The state can safely take a stand but a Sherriff can’t unless he ready to face the consequences.  

The term wasn’t applied by anti-gun people it was applied by pro-gun people that claimed to have one. It quickly took off with the civilian versions of the AK and AR. We did this, until of course the “assault weapons ban” came along. All of a sudden no one had one. Arguing they aren’t calling it the right name doesn’t make sense. The people that will be making the laws know the difference and if they don’t the gun experts that are going to be tapped to help them write the proposed legislation will. Feinstein might not have experts guiding her, but you can bet Obama’s boys do. Magazine, clip…. Sure using the wrong name makes you appear a novice; but it won’t impact any legislation. With all due respect….put that energy you are using being mad about this into something that will matter.

The said the same thing would happen when women were put on combat ships and submarines. I didn’t have the privilege of the experience but it doesn’t seem to be a big problem. I was on the PD when they changed the physical agility test because not enough women could pass it. There was a lot of drama over that, but it work out; there are a lot of women cops now.

You are if you are selling things like guns, liquor, cigarettes or ammo.

I wise cop taught me that you don’t make a threat you can’t back-up. Obama wants to destroy this country. What better way than to turn Americans against each other. Don’t let it happen, no cops are going to jail for enforcing the law. If you can’t put Obama in jail or impeach him; those laws have no teeth. This stuff is as stupid as when the Tennessee legislature threatened to ticket New York drivers; what a sham, they should be ashamed.(Not of the refusal to enforce, but the threat of arresting Federal Agents; thats ridiculous.)

The average citizens are moving away from the threat while the cops are moving towards it. What’s that do to your statistics?

Years ago my Department bought their ammo through a local gun store. Probably cost less than if the state or the Feds was involved in the sale.

What do they put them on?

I would think that top to bottom any common SD handgun caliber would shoot right through it. Side to side I don’t think most handgun calibers would go through 6 feet of it; but I wouldn’t want to count on that. When the bad guys come through your bedroom door; shoot them and this will not be an issue.

Our society is driven by money. Not many people are going to be ready to overthrow the government or have a civil war when they fully understand the consequences. Our economy might collapses and put us in turmoil, but it won’t be because of gun laws or overthrowing the government.   And if you should decide we need a new government I can assure you it will not be the one you have in mind. Look around you.

Everyone agrees that mentally ill people shouldn’t have access to guns. But where is the line drawn?   I bet a lot of people here have been prescribed some type of medication for “depression”; kiss your HCP goodbye.   I don’t see this ending well; we argue that the problem isn’t guns, its mentally ill people. But who is going to okay with opening your medical records and everything that is that laptop the nurse had when she did your history to the Federal government? Drugs to stop smoking are also used for depression. Good luck with that.   I can remember when cops couldn’t go see a shrink. If it was discovered they would be fired or never promoted. That's changed now, but that’s what will happen to gun owners.   I don’t see how anyone can justify confidentiality between a criminal and his attorney, but not between a patient and his Doctor. Well yes I do, lawyers make the laws and they will never pass something that will impact them or make them do the right thing, but they will pass those laws for Doctors.

Smith & Wesson has been in business for over 150 years. I would guess that they build what they think they can sell. This is what they are faced with now. We can’t contract stuff out because of certifications; I don’t know if that applies to them or not. Gun owners are a crazy bunch; it could be a real PR nightmare if they had problems with a “contracted” gun. I include myself in that “crazy bunch”; I can’t finish out my M&P collection with a .22 because it isn’t made here.

It’s manufacturing, not assembly. We just spent $1.2 million on two machining centers because of a new contract. If we lost that contract in a year or the product was cancelled we would be in serious trouble.  All of the big boys were selling everything they could build prior to this; but they can’t add new lines at millions of dollars; this is going to end in one of two ways… and neither would justify that kind of spending for machines that would eventually be sitting idle.

The guns are going to dealers. The dirt bags that are trying to rip everyone off have to buy from them. So unless it’s a case of the big dealers keeping guns from the small dealers, why would the dealers not have sales?   Just a question.

I don’t think the manufacturers are the one’s making out on this; it was hard to locate guns I wanted when times were good. They don’t seem to be the ones jacking prices through the roof. Panic buying and people reselling are causes the prices to go up.   I’m sure some of these gun companies are worried that their main products (semi-autos) will be banned or have serious restrictions put on their sales.  

I was disappointed. I got there expecting to see the Capitol grounds covered. I saw the small group, couldn’t find any parking and left. I had never been in the capitol area before. I hope if there is another one of these it is held somewhere else. If 50K people had showed up as some talked about, it would have just been a traffic jam.

.357’s are hard to find and are generally higher than 30-30. That’s the caliber I keep my eye open for. But I’m a shooter, not a hunter. If I wanted to hunt I would stick with the 30-30.

It would have to be a holster or something; High Capacity magazines are illegal in DC. Unless you are David Gregory.

I had a friend that wanted her kids to go to private schools. When I ask why she said she didn’t want her kids around some of the kids there. Those weren’t the words she used, but you get the idea. I said when I was a cop we had a name for people like that…. Victims. We all are responsible to make it as safe for our kids as we can. But they need social interaction outside the home to develop the social skills they will need to get by in the world and the workplace. If they get in a bad situation they need to be able to work it out; not start crying for mommy and daddy. I also believe there are people out there that have the intelligence and ability to home school their kids; unfortunately I think they are few and far between. I only know a few people that home school their kids and those poor kids don’t have a chance of functioning very well in society.
