Freedom of speech. You may not like it but they can write what they want and put whatever spin they want on it. There are still responsible journalists out there. There are also a million crack pots that can put up a website and be referred to as “Media”.   We see it here all the time. Someone post something bizarre from a crack pot and some of us then question it and search out the truth and others just get in line to believe it.   Fox News and MSNBC’s target audience are very different with each having their own spin.

If they can I think the Feds will try to block the importation of firearms and it has absolutely nothing to do with anything the UN does.

Take a look at the Smith & Wesson M&P line. I think you may find them better quality at about the same price. A plus is that they are made here by Americans instead of imported from Croatia if that matters to you.

A line has been drawn in the sand on gun control and States’ Rights.  You are on the Federal side of it; others are on the States Rights side of it. On your side you have your interpretation of the United States Constitution; on others side they have States Rights and the rulings of the interpreters on the Constitution.   I would be on the side of States Rights, except I don’t believe my gun rights come from either. I have the inalienable right to carry a gun to protect my life. But of course no court in the land agrees with that.

Lincoln did nothing in my opinion as it pertains to this. The Confederacy did something though. Even though they lost the war they won. It was about States’ Rights. Unless the Federal government is going to take on the responsibility of law enforcement for the state; they have no authority to say everyone can strap on a gun and go wherever they please. That’s why the SCOTUS has ruled the way they have.

Is Jim Garrow a Judge, would it matter if he is? I’m not questioning his credibility or character; I’m questioning the credibility of an unnamed source. He may have been told that; that doesn't make it true.   Does anyone in this thread (besides you) not think I am not seeking the truth?

We are as potentially impacted by the TFFA as anyone in the Heller case. Heller was never arrested nor had any guns taken away.   I’m not arguing, I just don’t know why we have to wait for someone to go to prison to challenge this this law.

Do you agree that the conversation they were having was about something very different than what we are discussing in this thread?   Asking a military officer if he would order his Predator operator to kill Anwar al-Aulaqi is something very different than asking him if he would fire on civilians in this country.   The Navy would not choose someone as a Ballistic Submarine Commander if they think he will question his orders to launch a nuclear strike. It makes for great movies, but won’t work in the real world. I can’t think of anywhere in the world we could drop a nuke that won’t kill innocent American citizens.

Neither side is willing to negotiate. Bills will be presented and they will pass or fail. Obama will hand down whatever executive orders he wants and they will be tested in the courts. I don’t think you will lose the ability to own an AR or the 30 round mags you have. I suspect you will lose the ability to buy anymore 30 round mags and will lose private sales. That’s how I think the legislators will see “compromise”.

Okay, I did a quick search. A Nobel Peace Prize “nominee” is claiming that an unnamed source is telling him “The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not”. Those who will not are being removed,” So I’m supposed to believe that any military leader that says “No” is being removed? That would be great information if it could be verified.   These stories all seem to make the fact that this guy being a “Nobel Peace Prize Nominee” gives him credibility. 205 people were nominated that year and Obama was the recipient. Obama won, and it doesn’t make him any more creatable in my eyes.   I truly believe if this is happening a credible source will step forward.

The second amendment already has been changed. It was changed by the Civil War and it was changed by Heller and McDonald. Keep and Bear are no longer synonymous. You have right to keep arms, but the state will decide when and where you can bear them.    

I haven’t read her bill. Who has exemptions and what are they?

I’m not really interested in anything Alex Jones has to say; he is not a responsible source, so I didn’t click on the link. I would be interested in reading about Obama asking military commanders if they would fire on Americans, if it were from a responsible source. In any of the nut cases ranting’s did he make any claims about where this info came from?

This is how it is supposed to work when a President decides to “work his way around” congress or the Constitution. I think this is how it will work if he tries anything with gun control. Keep in mind though that he doesn’t care. He answers to no one and has four more years to do as much damage to this country as he can.

I have asked this before and never got an answer from any of the attorney’s, but it doesn’t seem reasonable to me that someone has to be arrested or have damages before a law can be tested. Why has the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act not been tested? The ATF sent out letters that it is unlawful and will not be acknowledged by them. Is that not enough? Heller tested the law and none of them had been arrested.   Arresting a Federal Agent serves no purpose. At some point he will be bailed out and then it’s over. Except for the part where he sues the state for false arrest and unlawful restraint and wins a huge settlement that we get to pay. People go nuts when cops arrest citizens on charges where they know they can’t get a conviction. How is this any different? I don’t support the unlawful arrest and incarceration of any American Citizen regardless of what his job is, and I expect the same from my legislators.   Cops taking on cops because Obama commits a crime, citizens picking sides? That’s crazy; at that point our legal system is in total failure.

Find a way to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill or convicted criminals without interfering or adding additional to cost to those of us that aren’t in those categories and I’m onboard. However, with the protections of health records we have today I don’t see that happening. Health records are better protected than our gun rights.

Did they change PayPal being the only way to get benefactor status here? I thought PayPal banned gun related items a long time ago? I thought that was why people were requiring PayPal “gift” for payment?

I’m certainly no foreign car fan, but I don’t see VW making any threats. They spent a billion dollars here; they aren’t going anywhere. They are against the bill and don’t want guns on the property, can someone link somewhere they have made threats to move or not add the capacity they built for?

It’s not the credit card company; it’s the system that dealer uses to process credit cards.

They also own TurboTax. Need to get the word out before tax time.
