Doug, with everything either shut down or swamped I doubt there is anyone you can call. Here is an IRS site that lets you check online. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments This story says.... This story gives reasons you may not have it yet.

Trump said the other day he was working on getting internet to you folks in the sticks. He will probably hook you up soon. He might even decide to give you some of that Xfinity X1.

Its possible that a VET could not have been required to file income tax for the last two years. In that case they would need to submit info for a stimulus check. Same as anyone else that didn't file income tax or the Feds don't have their bank info.

We were drinking beer at the Police Benevolent Hall one night after work. My friend was standing behind the bar with his leg raised up on the sink. I walked by to get a beer and sprayed mace in the sink. This was back when you could smoke in buildings. It took a few minutes, but his eyes were watering and he said “Damn, I don’t see how you guys can smoke those cigarettes, that smoke is killing my eyes!”

I’ve never experienced them, but I remember and episode of COPS were they tasered a biker looking dude. He said “I’ve been stabbed shot and had my azz beat, and never had anything hurt like that.” So I’ve always assumed its probably like mace, I’ve had big guys that were resisting sit down on the curb and cry, and once we had an 18 year old kid that was fighting, getting maced by three Officer and it was like we were spraying water on him; had no effect at all. A night stick across the shins dropped him like rock.
-
If that’s your story; you need to stick with it.

Tasers weren’t around when I was a cop, and I’ve always thought that was a shame.

Maybe someone has already done the research?? My next purchase will probably be a pistol red dot. I’m wondering about those made in the USA. I own a Burris fast fire III, which it appears is made in the Philippines. I own a Vortex Venom and it appears its also made in the Philippines, with their other red dots made in China. I own a Eotech EXP rifle red dot that appears to be made here. It appears the Leupold Deltapoint Pro is made here?? (Although they didn't have a mounting plate for an M&P C.O.R.E. when I bought mine) Any other pistol red dots made here?

Medical is also an issue. Other than taking a few years off to be a civil servant, I have worked in manufacturing for nearly 50 years. Until the last 10 years (for me), insurance was never an issue, it was just a given. I could not have taken my last job if I did not have insurance through my wife’s job; the cost was just too high. When manufacturing was booming, they were paying the bills for medical. If it comes back the only insurance issue will be for those that can’t work, won’t work, or their companies won’t pay the insurance.

I would guess what happened in China, could happen here if someone violated safety protocols. I would bet we work on things far more deadly than a virus here. The “fault” comes from experts saying China hid the problem, lied about the severity, and possibly even imprisoned or killed those who were trying to notify others of what happened. However, after this is over there will be plenty of finger pointing, accusations, and calls for impeachments, investigations, and hearings. Now the news is talking about how different people or states are going to sue China. All that will accomplish is attorneys getting paid by the states or the Fed, while the victims get nothing, because China is not going to pay us anything. Hopefully, what will happen is that the people that think a “Global Economy” is a good idea will have their eyes opened. China could shut off our antibiotics. That’s pretty scary. As people who know me know, I try my hardest to buy American made when I can. But sometimes I can’t. Computers, TV’s, cameras, cell phones, etc; I (like everyone else) have to buy foreign made. But the most important items, guns, motorcycles, liquor ; I can still buy American Made. I don’t buy foreign made guns. But recently I had convinced myself it was okay to buy a Holosun red dot because they have very good reviews, were at one time low cost, and apparently high quality. This virus issue snapped me back into reality. I don’t know if any of the red dots offered by American companies are actually made here; but I have to find out. I’m not spending my money with China if I don’t have to. That’s how they will pay for what they did.

Judge Benitez voids CA ammo background checks
DaveTN replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
He is also the Judge that shot down California’s Proposition 63's ban on large-capacity magazine. However, that case is now being considered by the 9th Circus. -
Yes, it will be around until there is a vaccine. They are saying probably 12-18 months. However, there are several in trials right now. Every country on earth is throwing money at it, and every one that works in that field is trying to develop a vaccine. Your flu shot changes every year for the strains your Doctor thinks is most likely in your area. When a vaccine for this is developed it will be included if your Doctor thinks you are at risk. None of them are a magic bullet, that’s why people that have the shots can still contract the flu.

As far as I know, no one is claiming its man made. An employee was infected in a lab, and then went out and infected others. It will remain constantly, so, no, China wouldn’t need to have anything to do with it from now on. Why would you be the last person that needs to be talking about this? We are all talking about this; it impacts us all, and could impact you whether you get the virus or not.
-
Absolutely it makes sense to compare the flu. 61,000 people died and the economy wasn’t shut down and businesses told they have to lock their doors. 61,000 people died and it wasn’t carried 24 hours a day 7 days a week on all news stations like this virus, or impeachment, or the Russia non-sense, etc. Our government wasn’t prepared for this virus. Those who want to finger point and blame Trump; that’s ridiculous and helps nothing. We still aren’t prepared; we could be in grave danger. With everyone making all the noise about having the PPE stockpiles for medical workers and first responders in good shape, they are not addressing the food chain workers. Food workers in Tennessee don't have the PPE they should have do to this virus. Their fellow workers are getting sick, and while the business will tell them how many there are, they won’t tell them who they are because they say it violates HIPAA. What a bunch of crap. They can’t know if it was someone they were around because it violates the law? That’s crazy; change the law. Tyson shut down its largest pork plant. Stories say “experts” claim Americans don’t need to worry about the food supply chain. Yet more and more food workers are getting sick because they don’t have the same PPE the medicals workers have; and they need it. Why isn’t it being talked about? Because they can’t fix it right now. 8 big cats at a zoo, and now 2 house cats, have tested positive for the virus while we are being told it can’t be transmitted from animal to human. If a cat can have it, can a cow have it? Can our meat supply be tainted. Its hard to get the tough questions answered in the daily briefings because that room is mostly filled with azzhats that want a “gotcha” moment with Trump or want to ask the same dumbazz questions they asked the day before. I’d like to see that room emptied and a town hall type briefing with citizens able to text in questions. I’d also like to see Trump quit wasting time by repeating day after day after day his stories about ships, and convention centers, and ventilators, and other stuff that he thinks his administration has done a great job on.

Did you post something wrong? I was just looking at your “confirmed” vs. “deaths” numbers. If I’m doing the math right, 5.5% of those that had the virus in KY died. While in TN 2.1% of those confirmed died. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with those numbers that show the death rate is twice in KY it is in TN, but I’m pretty sure they don’t have anything to do with politics or Governors.
-
When you are shot on the water you only have two choices; go down or float. I think he was just saying he didn’t want any floaters.
-
As I’m looking at the KY/TN stats, I’m wondering Why is anyone writing this story, are these two governors going to run against each other for something? Then I see the headline. Good grief. If the numbers were transposed into this thread correctly, forgive me for being cold, but Tennesseans that contracted the virus are twice as tough as Kentuckians.
-
I understand that. I think most of us do. That's why hard choices are being made.
-
Ha ha, ha I was going to say the same thing. It wasn’t like that in the Navy either. When we went to foreign countries we would get lectures on culture and customs we might not be familiar with; but telling us not to rape anyone or rob banks was never part of the presentation; I guess they felt we already knew not to do that.
-
I agree. If we have armed conflicts, we need to either have war declared or leave. The rules of engagement should be, if you engage the enemy they surrender, or you shoot them. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again. War should be a brutal nasty hell that no one wants to get involved in. If we take fire from somewhere, during a war, we should kill every living thing in the area. Our troops or our citizens should never be unnecessarily put at risk to keep from killing the enemy. “Smart Bombs” and all that BS is ridiculous. They imply that innocent people can be spared, which is ridiculous in war. If our ships are where they are allowed to be…sink those boats. If our ships are in Iranian waters; we need to get out of there or declare war.
-
I wasn’t implying that we should have shut it down.
-
It’s been 24 hours. You get the hood open yet?

That goes on every year. The 2017-2018 flu season left 61,000 dead in the U.S. any many left damaged for life. Did you know that? I didn’t know that before this happened. Why? Because it wasn’t important enough to shut down the economy.
