  1. That wouldn’t concern me. Who memorizes the lists of reciprocity states or keeps up on it? It’s a non-issue unless he is going to arrest you; then he would find out.
  2.   You are probably right. If your wife is banned from having a firearm in her car under “39-16-201 Introduction or possession of weapons, explosives, intoxicants or drugs into a penal institution where prisoners are quartered”; I don’t see that mentioned in any changes. I guess it would come down to whether or not the parking lot is a controlled, secure area. I'm sure it will be clarified at some point; since it’s a felony.
  3. I would think you would need to produce a lot of product to pay your Product liability insurance.
  4.   You are correct on what the test would be. If there are witnesses or audio recordings, and a person told you they are a convicted felon; a Judge or Jury will probably convict you.     If that happens you will be doing it under Federal law. An FFL can’t sell an 18 YO a handgun, so I doubt they will lower the age. It will depend on whether or not Tennessee (and all other states) decides to comply.
  5. No, not unless that person is an undercover cop that puts you in handcuffs.   Our state only has three simple requirements that you must meet to legally sell a firearm. 1. It is your responsibility to make sure the buyer is a resident of this state. 2. It is your responsibility to make sure the buyer is of age for whatever you are selling. 3. It is your responsibility to make sure you are not selling to someone that you know is banned from ownership.   You can be arrested and charged with anything. If a Police Officer takes the stand and testifies he was working illegal gun sales, he told you he was a convicted felon and you sold to him anyway; the jury would have to decide based on that and any audio recordings, if you intended to sell to a convicted felon.   If someone is either telling you, or alluding to the fact that they can’t own a gun; they are either a felon or a cop….. Probably a cop.
  6. They have a recording of an uncover Officer telling him he is a convicted felon. This clown would have been charged in this state.
  7. On mine, the serial number is also laser etched. If you blast the slide it won’t match the rest of the gun unless you blast it also. It appears that would mess up the serial number. Fine glass bead won’t remove etching because it’s into the metal. You would need to polish that out. Your MIM parts won’t match the gun if you blast them.
  8. I’ve done thousands of parts and a few guns. Do you know any Toolmakers or Mold Makers? Most of those shops will be able to do it. I could give you a name of someone to call, but it’s in the MidState; pretty far from you.
  9. . . And this specifically targets Magpul. Manufacturers in other states won’t have to comply. .
  10. I thought I read that the CLEO signature requirement was dropped by the ATF? Does the state of Tennessee require it?
  11. You are a little late. All the arguments have been made in the 68 page thread Mike linked. I am not an attorney nor do I play one on TV, but I could argue this case with you. Bottom line… it does not matter. The only thing that matters is what comes out of that courtroom in Florida. I have participated in enough trials to not be so naive as to think justice will be done, but we will see. Its time to get on with it.
  12. Looks like it has to be voted on again. Only needs one person to change their vote to fail.
  13. Sure there is. Zimmerman jumped out of his truck and started chasing a kid that was doing nothing wrong. Martin was scared and defended himself; he may have even seen the gun. Martin had a right to be where he was and had no requirement to run from a lunatic that was chasing him. Unfortunately for Martin all he had to defend himself with was his hands. He was doing okay until Zimmerman pulled a gun and shot him to death. Zimmerman started the encounter and he ended it; and an innocent person is dead. Do I think justice will be served? I don’t think 12 people can reach a unanimous verdict on this. But, this has been beat to death here, just as it has been everywhere. I just wish they would get the trial over with. I do feel kinda sorry for Zimmerman in that he’s screwed no matter what happens.
  14. I was in Chicago with about 100 others guys joining the Navy in August of 1971. They were reading off names and sending them to boot camp in either Great Lakes or Orlando. When they were done there was me and one other guy left. The guy reading off names ask our names and we told him. He replied “Oh we have a very special place for you two; you are going to San Diego, California.” I said “cool, I’ve always wanted to visit California.” He replied… “It’s August.” One of the other things I remember is how nice everyone was to us. They were helpful at the induction center and helped us get to our flights and answered any questions we had. A Navy bus was waiting on us at the airport at San Diego; even the two Marines on it were nice to us. We arrived at NTC San Diego. Our Company Commander met us at the bus. The party was over.
  15. I must have missed it; what was the explanation as to why he didn't take it with him?
  16. Poor ole NASCAR. First it was cigarettes, now its guns.
  17. Was his point that a retired astronaut should not be able to walk in a gun store and buy a gun?
  18. Norton blocked an attack from that link.
  19. People that pick up a shooters brass without asking before he leaves should be banned from the range. It’s not bad manners its theft.
  20. Look at 11.12.080 http://library.municode.com/HTML/14214/level4/CHRELACOTA_TIT11PUPEMOWE_DIVIGERE_CH11.12OFAGPUPE.html
  21. Husbands, Fathers, other women, the community? Just because you live here doesn’t mean you can’t be oppressed.
  22. I was in a couple of incidents in bars and private parties in Norfolk, VA where the cops could have screwed us. Instead they let Shore Patrol handle it. Most of the guys I knew that had interactions with the cops didn’t have any problems unless they got mouthy with the cops. Like anywhere if you cop an attitude the cops will just cuff you, stuff you and charge you under state law. Then you had big problems, both the state and the military to deal with. I had to do my turn mess cooking and was going into the base at 3 or 4 in the morning. It had snowed a couple of inches (Blizzard for Norfolk) and I had a 68 Camaro. There was not a soul out on the streets (so I thought) when I came down the ramp to enter the highway. I was fishtailing a little and then did a donut on the highway. I had the whole highway to myself. A couple of minutes later the lights come on behind me. He told me that he saw what I was doing and asks if it was intentional. I told him it was and that I was just messing around. He saw that I had an Illinois driver’s license and said “you are used to this, these people aren’t. Be careful and don’t do that anymore.” I said “Yes, sir.” And he left. Military towns, College towns and cities like Vegas have people that have the idea they can do whatever they want without consequence. Sometimes they find out they are wrong.
  23. Funny story… We were in the Caribbean on exercises. For that I was the Boat Engineer for the Captains Gig, so I was standing by the Captain on the flight deck. A young guy was operating the remote controlled drones for a gunnery exercise. One of the guys on deck asks the guy what happens if we shoot the drone? He replied “You couldn’t shoot that drone if you tried.” Our Captain looked at the Chief Gunners Mate and asks “Chief can you hit that drone?” He replied “Yes Sir”. The Captain said “Do so.” The Chief walked to the aft gun mount and the Captain told the guy to take evasive measures. Two rapid rounds fired and the drone exploded. The look on that guys face was priceless. We shot his remote controlled boat too, but we brought it on-board and the HT’s fixed it.
  24. Get on with the trial; let a jury decide. It's been beat to death here.
