N. Korea's Kim aims rockets at DC, LA, Hawaii and Austin
DaveTN replied to Good_Steward's topic in General Chat
Pyongyang to Beijing is only 500 miles. We won’t be going nuclear unless we want a war with China. -

I'm sure our SLBM’s are in fine shape. (Should we even need them) -

Probably not. ATK owns most of the ammo companies; they also run Lake City for the government. A shooting war would have all their support, plus foreign countries that support us would be supplying ammunition. -

We (and other counties) have the ability to target cities all over the world. We also have the ability to deliver devastating strikes on NK without going nuclear. -
I’m curious if anyone knows for sure if manufacturers like ATK, Federal, or Winchester have raised their prices, or are they just letting distributors and retailers put any price they want on ammo? The oil companies found out during Katrina they could double gas prices and we would pay it. That’s why the prices are where they are. I wonder if the same thing will happen with ammo. If it’s the manufacturers we are hosed. If its distributors and retailers it will eventually return to normal.

Here is a copy of the Police report and charges that Brian Childs was charged with when he got stupid with tannerite. He pled guilty for a fine and three years’ probation. Sounds to me like they may be going after Kyle Myers because he isn’t cooperating with the homicide investigation; but that’s just a WAG. http://www.wdio.com/kstpImages/childs_criminal_complaint.pdf

North Korea Propaganda with antique tanks
DaveTN replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The USS Pueblo is still a commissioned U.S. Navy ship. I hope someday to see the U.S. Navy reclaim her and bring her home. -
“In Controlâ€, “protect his kidâ€???? The daughter was walking a dog that she obviously couldn’t control. Who was protecting those three women that were trying to stop the attack? They could have been seriously injured in a second. I own a 100 pound Doberman (that I can control) and if that were me I would have been cited for violating a leash law and allowing my dog to kill a protected animal. Dirt bags like that give the rest of us responsible owners a bad name.

So…. It’s okay to have a dog on the beach that you don’t have the ability to control? Those three women are lucky that dog didn’t turn on them. I love dogs but if I saw that go down I would have walked over and put a bullet in that dogs head before someone got attacked. The dog was out of control and the owner did not have the ability to control it.

"My life was in danger 'cause his window was down"
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Here’s a piece of advice… Don’t make a confession to the news cameras after you have been arrested for felony aggravated assault. So much for having a carry permit or being a security guard. -
I do searches on GunBroker on what is actually selling. That stuff that is being priced crazy isn't selling. You have to create an account (its free), but then you can search by completed auctions and see what is selling. I'm sure they get a sucker every once in awhile, but most high priced stuff closes without any bids. Let's see if that That Colt 6920 that is listed at $2k sells; it ends in 3 hours.

I don’t know, but I would go to Wild West Guns and have my picture taken with Phred.

Cookeville man shot by rifle in hard case?
DaveTN replied to billyscott's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The story says he was pulling it out of the car, not the case. It said it was still in the hard case. It wouldn’t take much to touch off the trigger if something in the case hit it or it slid on the foam. It appears he put a loaded, cocked rifle with the safety off in a case and he paid for it with his life. -
Yes, you call the Police and ask them to send an Officer or Deputy out to see you about a suspicious person. When they come out you tell them your story and give them the information you have. Narcotics isn’t going to be interested because you think you saw a dope deal, but Patrol Division will stop the car if they see it. If you make the Patrol Officers in your area aware of it; they will stop it if they see it.

Fake… that whole video is fake. Just someone else trying to get a reality TV show.

.308 is my rifle round of choice. I have rifles for all applications so it’s impossible to pick one that will cover everything. But if I could only keep one I think it would be my .308 AR. 308 + AR = the closest you will get to a gun that can handle most applications. But thats not a choice, so I didn’t vote.

FedEx and UPS are in the Justice Department’s cross-hairs
DaveTN replied to zapfbroad's topic in General Chat
The government wants to be paid off. But there’s a big difference in Google taking money for something they should have known was illegal and UPS/FedEx shipping them. None of those on-line pharmacies ship anything through the USPS? Good. -
Their store, their limits, their rules; they can break them if they like.

Nullifying NFA/Class 3 laws.
DaveTN replied to espacef1fan's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Money will grow on trees before FA is legal for the general public. The price would definitely crash; an M16 doesn’t cost anymore to manufacture than an AR15. The Tennessee legislature has already removed the ban on suppressors. It’s just that no one is willing to test the law. -
Four Tennessee men face charges in gun sales
DaveTN replied to BLACKVANDRIVER's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
One brother is headed to prison and the other has a mountain of legal debt. I don’t see that as a win, and I certainly don’t see this as a message that you are protected from anything. As much as gun sales have become an issue I expect a few people to made examples of. -
“Right to work†state has nothing to do with it. “Employment at will†state means they can let you go without giving a reason. All this does is give you protection from a criminal citation; not from a pizzed off employer.

Then let’s start here…. I voluntarily answered my country’s call during the Vietnam War. I have two honorable discharges and served my country as a cop after I got out. I don’t think that gives me any state mandated special privileges and certainly not more gun rights that any citizen. I also don’t think that just because someone hung out for 20 years they get some special treatment that combat veterans don’t get. (I am not a military combat veteran) I have an HCP because I am lucky enough to be able to afford it. I certainly wish all citizens of the state of Tennessee could enjoy their gun rights; and maybe someday they can. If the state is going to start reducing the price of gun privileges; I would suggest they do it with those that can’t afford a permit.

Teachers are just citizens like us. Like some citizens; some teachers are ignorant beyond belief. Couple that with tenure and you can see how this happens. Don’t forget you are in a country that elected Obama president…… twice.
