  1. It’s great when people take a stand against something they have not the first clue about.
  2. Has someone been fired over having a gun in their car?   The biggest issue in protecting employees from being fired is “Employment at will”; unless you have an employment contract an employer doesn’t have to give a reason for letting you go.
  3. By the time a book gets to market we will know what the jurors had to say and what went on.
  4. Actually, I was making fun of the journalist (and I use that term loosely) using all the hype about the PD wondering where the ammo came from.   Most all cops know where ammo comes from and they know 6K rounds isn’t enough to warrant a headline. Either he’s new, making up grandstanding stuff, or it was a slow news day.
  5. 6,000 rounds on ammo!!! One guy?? I’m freakin amazed. How could that possibly happen? And who in the world would ever have a use or need for 6K of ammo?
  6. I’m confused as to where Reid was on Sunday when he asked the DOJ to prosecute Zimmerman; or who he made this request to? If they are talking about his remarks on a TV interview, or at least the ones they quoted; I don’t hear him asking anyone for anything. Of course the Justice Department will look at it. That doesn’t mean that they will do anything or that he is asking them to. Or did I miss something??
  7. You are late for the party if you want phone service providers to not support anti-gun companies. 75% of the market uses an Android operating system. Google owns that system and they are as anti-gun as a company can be.
  8. I don’t think Zimmerman was part of that association. He was Captain of his own (group ?) that had its own rules.   Seriously though… I don’t think Zimmerman was part of any organized neighborhood watch group. He wasn’t even paid security for the homeowners association. They just told residents to call him after they called the Police. That little screw-up cost them over a million bucks.
  9. It’s a real shame that the United States Justice department didn’t act when a hate group publically made death threats and put a bounty on his head. They and the local Law Enforcement where it happened should be ashamed of themselves. The silence sent a signal.
  10. I don’t think anyone that owns a business that even has guns on the premises will be giving Zimmerman a job.
  11. The Fed stuff is getting interesting. I don’t think there is a Federal case there, but the NAACP is cranked up and hammering for criminal civil rights charges.   It was double jeopardy when they did it to the Cops in the King case, but it was okay with everyone because the bad guys went to jail. The same thing may happen again.   It’s also about money now. I’m curious as to whether or not the Martins attorneys will be able to find a way to sue him, or if the state will not allow it.
  12. He probably would want to move in next to some who so vehemently defended him. That would not be me. I don’t want to be around him when shtf.
  13. I agree with his assessment. But I think we have very different reasons.
  14. What do you think will happen to Zimmerman now?   His attorneys said (as of about a week ago) they have not been paid a dime. Since the Zimmerman fund doesn’t have much in it I assume he has been using it to live on??   Do you think he will live on donations? Do think someone will give him a job? Even if his threats of civil action came true; they would take at least a couple of years.
  15.   What’s he care about a political move; he has zero at risk?
  16. I don’t have anything to deal with; I have already admitted I was wrong. I was also wrong when I told co-workers during the Rodney King cops state trial that the cops would be going to prison. I was wrong when I said OJ killed his wife. I’m not twisting anything. Let’s take off the gloves and allow anyone that looks suspicious to be stopped by anyone… cops, citizens, security guards, or even one man “neighborhood watch” captains. That pesky RAS, and PC non-sense is always getting in the way anyway. I mean… what could possibly go wrong?
  17. He was walking down the sidewalk drinking tea and eating skittles; not prowling around houses. Let’s remove all terry stop rules. Cops need absolutely no reason (other than they don’t know you) to stop you and check you out. Does that sound right? Where was George Zimmerman’s RAS, PC or authority to stop anyone? Especially after they tried to get away from him?
  18. From what I saw in that story, it is not a class; it a private seminar. Paid for by the fees of those attending it and the teachers are not paid by the school district. Not sure how they get a waste of tax dollars from that. Its teachers are overtly religious? That’s insane. Having said that though, it’s a parent’s duty to teach their kids the parts of the Constitution that may directly impact their life one day. I’ve heard more than one school teacher tell kids the cops need a warrant to search your car. Could be bad news for kids that believe that.
  19. Correct. Duty to retreat on the part of an innocent person that had a right to be there? Should have run home, should have called 911, and should have done anything but engage his attacker? However… I concede. A jury of his peers put their stamp of approval on what he did. All I asked for was that he get a fair trial; that happened.
  20. He did that! And Zimmerman chased him down. Fight or flight. If Zimmerman had not chased him down; it would have been over. (And that’s a lot more logical to me than Martin should have run home). We don’t know if Martins fears caused him to turn from flight to flight. We can’t ask him; he’s dead. But I agree with you; Zimmerman had a gun so he won. Doesn’t matter what Martins rights were, all he had to defend himself with was his fists; and it cost him his life.
  21. No, my son would not have run.  And when Zimmerman confronted him I think it would have ended with Zimmerman putting his candy azz back in the truck and waiting on the cops.
  22. The only court that has jurisdiction in this case agrees with you and has put their stamp of approval on what Zimmerman did. In the eyes of the court you are right and those of us that think Zimmerman was reckless are wrong.
  23. Yes, teach your children that unless they are old enough to carry a gun to defend themselves from armed nut cases; they have a duty to retreat.
  24. That would involve me jumping out of my vehicle and coming after you simply because I don’t know you. That’s not happening with me; it’s reckless.
  25. Everyone is going to sue everybody when they are found not guilty. Let him try; that is his right. I don’t think the DOJ is going to get involved in this. Of course I could be wrong again.
