Interesting commentary on the decline toward police state
DaveTN replied to Jonnin's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As a former Police Officer that has participated in high risk entries without having to dress up in tactical gear; I have always opposed this. The possibility of someone flushing some dope should never been a reason for putting people’s lives at risk. High risk means just that. Unless someone’s life is in danger there is no reason to kick in a door in the middle of the night; especially when there is any chance you have the wrong house. If you have to make entry it should be made by Officers in a standard Police uniform that people recognize. What can you do? You can put this right at the feet on the only people responsible for it, and in every department that is one man or woman; the Chief or Sherriff. We saw it happen with disastrous results right here in Lebanon a few years back; needless death of an innocent man because the Officers were not prepared or trained for what happened. This reckless conduct puts the citizens and the Officers at a risk that cannot be justified in everyday use.- 27 replies

Maryville's Mayor is anti-2nd Amendment

You have to have an account and be signed in; I saw them and I never visited that page before. -
I know that’s your opinion; sorry you have such bad luck with bad cops. But if you see a car plow into another car and the person appears to be drunk; I can assure you that your first thought won’t be; “maybe she is having a medical emergencyâ€. An investigation will determine if the cops overreacted. I’ve seen plenty of videos of cops overreacting; this one doesn’t rate very high on the list.

Just like with stories of gun owners; it’s the media grandstanding. She plowed into an innocent freaking guy sitting at a light. She could have killed him. First thing you do at an accident scene is make it safe for the victims and the people in the area. Even before treating anyone you turn the vehicles ignitions off to keep from having a fire and make sure no drunks or injured people are still in control of a vehicle. . It took them a minute to figure out what was going on.
-
If a person has a medical condition that can cause the death of an innocent person they should not be driving…. Period. Was the guy in truck injured?
-
I thought they said 1 minute.
-
This woman ran right into the guy stopped at a light. Why was she driving, she could have killed him? Did she not know she had this condition? What appears to be a drunk fails to respond to orders and is forcible removed from physical control of the vehicle. She went limp after an accident; they probably should have waited for paramedics before moving her off that hot azz pavement.

Don’t Probation and Parole Officers have anything to do in California? Violent convicted felons that aren’t in prison are probably on probation or parole. Those Officers don’t have to ask, and don’t need a warrant.

Protesters stop traffic on Interstate, What would you do?
DaveTN replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Based on who started that protest I would bet that if someone cranked off a round from their vehicle, or tried to run over those protesters; they would be met with a hail of gunfire. It’s okay if you want to take that chance, but it might a little hard on your family members. -

Mayor Jerry Gist, Jackson, TN Mayor Thomas W. Taylor, Maryville, TN Mayor A C Wharton, Memphis, TN Mayor Tom Beehan, Oak Ridge, TN Mayor Bill Lusk, Signal Mountain, TN -
I’d take the M14 because of accuracy and quality. But I’d take an AR-10 over any of them.

I don’t know if it’s a good example of SYG, but it sure is a good example of why our country won’t be overthrow by revolutionaries.

Stand your ground laws are nothing more than “No duty to retreat†laws. They do not lower the level of most state law requirements for the use of deadly force. Florida made a big deal out of it and gave it all kinds of special names when they did it. Tennessee (and most other states) didn’t need to; we didn’t have a duty to retreat. I wonder how many states have a duty to retreat?

The votes are split between those that want the government to support them and provide free health care, and those that want smaller government and more jobs. One group is rock solid with only one candidate to vote for while the other group is split between parties and candidates. Kinda obvious what’s going to happen there.

They will want at least $250 difference. That’s my guess.

The s a story behind this we can’t wait to hear.

Quanell, it’s obvious from that video your thugs didn’t pay any more attention to you than they do the law. Since you can’t control your members the Police will be stepping in to do it for you. I’m sure you will try to cover for the criminal that attacked that woman trying to get her granddaughter to the hospital. However, that is pretty good video and he will be identified when one of his friends drop a dime on him because they need a break from the Police. Then you will have your own martyr and can protest at his trial. That innocent child could have died because of your reckless action of having protesters block the vehicle. I know that wouldn’t bother you though. -
They don’t.
-
As has been said there is $100 difference. If both parties are getting what they want; it’s a fair trade.

What does†stand your ground†or the attack on Reginald Denny during the LA riots have to do with this incident? Were the protesters attacking someone? I don’t see a link to a story, so I’m not sure what the intent of your pictorial is?
