  1. Be part of the solution; not part of the problem. Sounds like a few here may be part of the problem. One thing is for sure, the people causing this shortage are gun owners. To believe that the government is buying up the ammo is ridiculous. I guess if it makes you feel better you can blame some politicians for trying to pass legislation that has not passed, but apparently has scared some gun owners enough to make them think they need to hoard ammo. Manufacturing will maintain a flow; doubtful many of them will make capital expenditures that can’t be justified at this time. Ammo is showing up and will continue as the hoarders drop off. Will the prices drop back to where they were? That will be a tough one. Just like with gas many have shown that they will pay crazy prices. The supply chain might have to start backing up before you see good pricing again.
  2. Common sense told me that an FFL would not be granted to someone that had their carry permit revoked and deemed a potential danger to the community. Obviously I was wrong.
  3. Did he lose his job? The news says he was put on administrative leave. He works in the health care industry; could lead to a mental health eval to go back to work.
  4. I wouldn’t use a .223 to hunt deer; I would use a .308 (I own both). That’s just my opinion based on many years of experience with physics and ballistics. I don’t understand your comment; what do I have to prove?
  5. What does it have to do with?   You never have to consent to an employer search. What are they going to do, force it open, pull you out?   How are they going to address the issue of employee theft without asking you to search your vehicle? They can ask and you can say no. What's the problem?   What problem is there with “Guns in trunks”? If there is a gun in a trunk how often has it become a problem? You work in Tennessee; they don’t need a reason to get rid of you.
  6. I don’t know, but a few weeks ago a storm took out a power pole by my house. I was without power for 2.5 hours. No TV, No DVR, No on-demand, No internet…. Nothing. Worst 2.5 hours I can remember in a long time.
  7. I’ve been dispatched to many employee theft situations that involved the stolen property being in the suspect’s vehicle. Usually a witness saw them put it there or whatever. In larger companies they usually don’t want to deal with having the person arrested; they want to search the vehicle, get their property back, fire the employee and have them leave the property without incident. If they had a sign on their gate that notified anyone that entering the facility their vehicle was subject to search; I could stand by, let them do whatever they were going to do, escort the person out and leave. If the employer wanted them arrested; I would have got a search warrant to search the vehicle and then arrested the person if the property was found. I never had to do that; everyone that I can remember either tuned the stuff over or plant security searched the vehicle and took it.   Based solely on my experience being sent on these types of calls; that’s why those signs are there, not so they can rummage through your car.
  8. My understanding is that the 1000 yard range only requires an appointment the first time you shoot so he can check you out. He also requires a background check. I haven’t seen it yet; a friend shot at it and said it was nice. He said they are still working on it.
  9. I’m sure gun issues are minuscule or non-existent when compared to vehicle searches for employee theft. Most secure facilities keep the right to search your car as a condition of employment because of theft. I wouldn’t expect them to be forced to give up that protection because of a gun issue that probably will never happen.
  10. In live fire are the rounds hitting where they are supposed to?

    Not by itself.
  13.  Everyone quit producing them because they couldn’t sell against the .357 and they didn't want moon clips; now people want them.

    Habitual DUI's

You are only engaged in a legal activity up to the point you get in the car with your keys in your possession; at that point you are committing a crime. Drink all you want, get as drunk as you like; just don’t drive.

    Habitual DUI's

Many states do put you in prison. Tennessee just removed the ability to refuse a blood test after your first DUI conviction; that makes the next convictions easier for those than continue to drive drunk. I’m not sure how some of the multiple offenders can still be on the street. Like anything though, whether or not you go to prison depends on how much legal representation you can afford to buy.
  16. Us? 1992. North Korea, February 12th of this year.   I’m pretty sure that in today’s version of one second after, the detonation of a nuclear device close enough to us for an EMP to cause damage would be seen as a nuclear strike. The North Koreans (or whoever did it) probably would not be done patting each other on the back before they were toasted.   It’s all about fear and money. But the bottom line is still MAD. (For the Superpowers, NK is not a Superpower)
  17. We don’t need any more laws or to copy any other state. What we need is for the state of Tennessee to recognize the right of the individual to keep and bear arms. Because until that happens the state has absolutely no right to force a business to allow someone that simply bought a privilege from the state to carry a gun onto their property.   You have that right now. Give me an example of when you have to submit to a search from someone other than a cop.   Is the Lt. Governor of the state implying that having a loaded gun off your property is a right?
  18. “Join or Die” They take their membership drives pretty seriously.
  19. Yes, but if the unit detects a plate it can’t read, it sends out a small EMP that destroys all the electronics in your vehicle.
  20. I’m sure I hate Obama as much or more than you. But there is plenty of stuff to accuse him of without making stuff up. It makes him appear to be right and the accusers to look like fools when it is proven wrong.   The gun issue got Americans to take their eye off the ball; Obama wants to keep it going. Obama was going to help the economy and create jobs; he has done neither. But it is what it is; he can’t be reelected. We need to be focused on who is running next and how we will get our people to vote. I suspect that as in the last two elections we will be split while those living off the government are united.   BTW.. I didn’t say Murfreesboro was the epicenter of ammo; but I can get it if I don’t care what I pay. I’m sure I could get any components you want if price is no object; as I’m sure you could also.
  21. Why would you want to?
  22. If you are filled full of hate for Obama and anything to do with the government it’s pretty easy to believe anything. Government buying up all the guns and ammo, Obama building a private Police Force, whatever. It’s laughable. I would suggest that those that believe some of this non-sense must have their heads in the sand because the rest of us have our eyes open and have the ability to research this stuff instead of listening to Alex Jones. I can buy guns and I can buy ammo in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The people that are buying up all the ammo and reselling it are making it harder for me to find ammo at legitimate prices; but I don’t think they work for Obama.
  23. We aren’t talking about rights being restored. We are talking about laws being passed to restrict employers being able to do criminal background checks. Many employers are concerned about the safety of their employees and the security of their business. People with histories of alcohol and drug abuse, and domestic violence may let those problems interfere with their jobs. People with histories of theft may steal the business blind. If they had problems and are reformed they can explain that to potential employers and let them make the decision if they want to take the risk. At least they need to be able to make an informed decision.   This is just another case of a thug government wanting to force something on a private business that they would never allow for themselves. And by thug government I’m speaking specifically of the city government that wants to do this.
  24. You think there are people out there that unintentionally wrote bad checks and were convicted of a felony?
  25. Been there done that. Who keeps a couple of quarts of hydrogen peroxide, big boxes of baking soda and Dawn on hand? Well I do now.
