Federal law 27 CFR Chapter II, Part 478.126a requires that they report multiple handguns purchases within 5 working days on another form. It may be they don’t want to mess with that so they just don’t do it.

So we go from the gays wanting to not be discriminated against to military Commanders disciplining anyone that says being gay is wrong? That won’t work out well for the gays.

What scope do you have on that rifle?
-
That’s what I was wondering. Some states have 72 hour waiting periods. Was this posted in Tennessee?

You don’t think people openly carrying guns have been shot when they unknowingly walked into a crime in progress, or have been targeted because they were a perceived threat to someone?

To get to the root of the problem with many of the cop haters the gloves need to come off in the discussion; that usually ends badly. The bottom line is that cops are people and they make mistakes. But just like private citizens that have been involved in situations; you sometimes have a second to react and then everyone is going to sit around for days and offer a wealth of information on what you should have done. Not saying that is a bad thing; I do it all the time, it’s how we learn. I remember one of our instructors talking about how no one (in law enforcement) likes to talk about the mistakes a dead cop made; especially if they knew him. But we have to discuss those situations and see what he did wrong so we don't die. Mine and your opinions (and others here) come from actually having been cops, walked in their shoes, and been in the situations. The opinions formed by experience may be different than those that think they would be Officer Friendly and dissect all information before acting. Like me I’m sure you have been in many situations that would have ended much differently if you could have turned the clock back 10 seconds.

It’s usually not attitude; but that another conversation that’s probably pointless. I didn’t have a Taser, but I would bet the number of lives that have been saved by Tasers is astronomical; and I’m not talking about cops lives saved.

I’m not sure what you are saying. So if someone gets in an altercation with you they should shoot you because you are in such great shape for a guy that is six foot 155 lbs.? Keep in mind that no one really cares what the shooter was thinking; they will apply the “reasonable person†concept to decide if they thought you should have shot someone. “They†being the jurors who consider themselves to be reasonable people.

It depends on which cause you are talking about. We don’t have a second amendment right in this state to carry a firearm; we have a privilege that we buy from the state. If you get a right to carry it is going to come from the state of Tennessee; not from the 2nd amendment. I don’t see that happening soon; but Tennessee could become number 5 on a short list of states that recognize carry off your property as a right.... who knows. I appreciate that I can carry a gun most places I go to. It’s usually not an issue because no one knows I’m carrying. Even though it is not a right I don’t want to lose that. I don’t conceal for that reason though; my experience tells me it’s not smart to open carry. Of course that’s what the whole debate is about.

Maybe they can do both. I mean let’s face it; your Doctor doesn’t do anything anyway but spend your money on houses, cars and golf clubs. The Nurses and the PA’a do all the work. So a guy could have a couple of hours in the Office in the morning and patrol the rest of the day.

Between yanking people out of cars that are having diabetic seizures and tasing naked 11 year olds that look like an adult and suffer from autism; I think the best fix for this problem is probably requiring Police Officers to be Doctors, or at least require them to have attended medical school.

iNFOWARS.... I'm not clicking on that. And I love a good story.

I’m an opponent of the verdict and I know that Stand your ground had nothing to do with it. Plus I can spell trial right two times in a row... trial... see. -
Maryville's Mayor is anti-2nd Amendment
DaveTN replied to TNinfidel's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If automatics are being sold without background checks; it is already a serious Federal crime. Private sales of semi-autos are legal in this state. So what do you mean when you say “illegal guns†Mr. Mayor? I’m confused. -
Kahr MK40 (or 9) for all metal (Stainless). A little more than your stated price range though. S&W shield. Not all metal, but concealable, especially in the .40 class, around $425.

Perhaps a case to test carrying in a properly posted business?
DaveTN replied to wtl's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
He had been engaged in a gun battle inside the store with two armed robbers that continued into the parking lot. They ran outside and carjacked a couple. He shot at them as they were fleeing in the vehicle. Unfortunately for him he didn’t hear (probably an adrenaline rush and tunnel vision) the two Police Officers yelling at him to stop; they shot and killed him. -
So what you guys are saying is that there is a multi-million dollar (or maybe even multi-billion ) opportunity for a company to engineer a GPS system that can’t be jammed?

In the thread you are talking about the bad guy had threatened the clerk with a gun. While being chased the bad guy turned and pointed the gun at the clerk, the clerk shot him dead. How is that remotely close to this? -
That is not my area of expertise. But this is 2013 using high tech systems. I refuse to believe that it is impossible to prevent the jamming of something as important as aircraft systems; especially with the money they have to throw at aircraft security. However… I certainly could be wrong. Felony charges and fines have never been a deterrent to criminals or terrorists; I don’t know why that would change.

DaveTN replied to wtl's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
He can’t be charged with carrying at a posted business, he owns the business. What the Mall owners can do depends on what the contract says. He could be charged for shooting at the fleeing suspects, but it doesn't sound like that is happening. What he did was reckless. -
Excluding people is exactly want the intent of a dress code is… dumbazz. So because you are black and identify with the thug culture are you implying this is racist? They don’t want white thugs in their restaurant either. Kinda sad that you think being a thug is a black culture thing.
-
Then you are ignorant beyond belief if you are using products that can be jammed by $100 off the shelf device. Time to work with a little more innovative engineering company don’t you think?

I’m getting this all second hand, but I was told there is a house in the area, and he is also concerned about careless (or just plain bad) shooters skipping 50 cals over the berm. You 50 cal shooters really do need to become a protected class people discriminate against you all the time.
