We have always been prepared for that. We keep ships in the Med, and all over pacific. We have ballistic subs constantly on patrol that can take out any country in the world. Wouldn’t you do the same to protect your country if you could?

The Chinese are not going to open fire on one of our carriers. Although it might be tough for them to hold back if Obama starts lobbing missiles around. There is no immediate threat to us. Obama would be making an attack in retaliation for crimes it is not clear who committed. Isn’t that what he said Bush did? The Russians cause me the most concern. This could end up a lot like the Cuban missile crisis. That may well be what he wants, but he won’t come out of it looking like Kennedy did. The Russians won’t be so quick to blink this time. Countries are moving the most advanced military weapons systems in the world into that area because Obama is making threats he has no business making. One small incident could cause a lot of damage.   China is a superpower both militarily and economically; if they “wanted a piece of us” they would rip a big piece off. They don’t want that.

Seems every forum has a thread on this and they are all over the place on reviews/recommendations; so I thought I would start one here.   Those of you who own Leupold and Vortex models that are comparable, what do you think?   What Vortex models would be comparable with VX2 and which with VX3. I’m looking at variable powers in the 14X or possibly 20X max range. I’m also looking for a decent 3X9 in a lower cost scope.   I will be comparing the higher end scope to a Leupold VX-III 6.5-20X40 LR with side focus and fine duplex. I will be comparing the lower cost scope to a Leupold VX-I 3-9X40.   Vortex prices appear to be nearing Leupold. I don’t want to spend that kind of money and be disappointed.   These will both be used on various target shooting rifles from .22 to .308. I don’t hunt.   If you haven’t used both feel free to leave your comments also, I just wanted to try to contact those that had owned both.

If Obama gives the order to launch missiles against Syria without Congressional approval I would hope our Military leaders and troops will stand down and refuse. If he tries he should be impeached. We have nothing to gain by lobbing missiles into Syria. It’s reckless and inhumane.

It’s stupid for the press to print stuff like that.  Good for the good guy, hope that story doesn’t cause him problems.

I’m buying new on about everything anymore. Most of my purchases in the past have been online. But the last two purchases I made were from forum dealers that came close to the online price even with tax added. I just shoot them a PM with what I want and see what happens. Last one I posted in the wanted section a member PMed me with where to get one.   The dealer I use when I do order online gets his guns late in the day and you pick them up the next day. He logs them in after the store closes.

I thought Obama didn’t want any wars and that he told American Mothers everywhere that if he was elected he was going to bring their sons and daughters home. Or did I dream that?

I have to say… We have pretty good gun laws in this state because we argue an awful lot about stuff that has never happened and probably never will happen. Our state does not need to copy any other states laws; we are at a point where our next step needs to be Constitutional carry.

There was a warrant for Weaver, they negotiated with him to surrender for months; he refused. They engaged agents in a firefight where Harris killed a U.S. Marshall and Weavers son was killed after firing on LEO's. It was not an unlawful arrest and they had no right to resist.   Both Weaver and Harris made threats against anyone that tried to capture them. They were taken seriously. Randy Weaver and Kevin Harris acts were the cause of the death of Sammy Weaver, Vicki Weaver, and Marshall Degan. They should still be in prison; in my opinion.

Just got finished watching it. Not very realistic in what happened but it sure is action packed. Kinda like Die Hard, Crimson Tide and Under Siege only with a lot more weapons and a lot more killin”. I give it two thumbs up.

I think they gave those up for shaved heads. I couldn’t be a cop today; I don’t look good with a shaved head.

It’s nothing like stopping someone when a murder hasn’t taken place. DUI is an ongoing criminal act. I have never worked a DUI checkpoint, but I don’t think I would need to see your license; a 5 second exchange should be enough to send you to the side or wave you through. Is that not what happens?   I don’t say it’s not an infringement, I just agree with Chief Justice Rehnquist that’s it’s a minor infringement that is justified and necessary for some communities.   I say all this freely admitting that I am not impartial or maybe even reasonable. I have worked far too many accidents were drunk drivers have killed people or crippled them for life. As I also said we didn’t use them; we did it full time with rolling traffic units.

Okay. What do we disagree on? The “unreasonable” part or the warrant part?

That may well have been the case. But why didn’t he (or Harris) just deal with it instead of opening fire? If you get accused of something you didn’t do and start shooting at the cops when they show up; what do you think is going to happen? If you want to become a dead martyr fine. But why not send your wife and kids to safety? You of all people are using the findings of the Justice Department to back up your beliefs? You gotta admit that’s kinda funny.

I know. As we were having our discussion on DUI last night I was sipping on Jack Daniels. I almost felt like a hypocrite until I realized I wasn’t driving.

I can still buy American made guns… Everything I own is American with the exception of a Mosin that was given to me. No need to send my money overseas when I don’t have, I hate it when the government does that. I do hate it that no matter how much money you spend some items are gone. I can’t buy a Digital camera or a TV made here.

Doesn’t have anything to do with wearing a Badge, but if thats what you think it’s fine. I can’t really say how I would feel about my wife being shot after I had engaged Police and been barricaded for a day, putting my wife and children in harm’s way; I just can’t imagine me being in that situation…. Ever.
