  1. Are you a machinist already? If not look into Tennessee Vo-techs machining program.
  2. Don’t be scared. Unless of course you start trying to kill innocent people. Then be afraid… be very afraid. There may not be a bunch of people standing around hand wringing; a shot may ring out from an HCP holder, cop, or other armed citizen.
  3. "Is a passport the only ID you have?" When I travel I carry my passport. It is the only form of ID I know of that is accepted everywhere.
  4. Responding Officers were shot at. (Not SWAT) SWAT was called. They started pumping in tear gas. The shooter started shooting at them through a window. Absolutely everyone in the area (Cops and Citizens) were safe from the gun fire coming thorough that window? I find that hard to believe. How much more could they have done? Duty to retreat in the face of an active shooter is exactly what you are suggesting. No… we will not accept that.
  5. More Zimmerman drama... http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/09/12/2611711/george-zimmermans-local-police-chief-fears-sandy-hook-waiting-happen/
  6. Probably, it’s my understanding that one of two people he threatened with the gun prior to the Police arriving was his Granddaughter.
  7. Even the brothers claimed that. That was my point about the black percentages. Are they claiming they were “profiled” because they were driving while black? That claim is ridiculous in a city that is 82% black. If the cops were looking at them for something else we have no idea what their reasoning was for approaching these guys. But if you flip out, start yelling and getting in anyone’s face (cop or not) for asking you for ID, and then attack that person when they move you back; you will probably end up in jail. They were charged with felony assault. They were lucky because they had a clean record and were in school the DA decided not to pursue the case.
  8. I think that is what's happening now. Maybe they will implement a policy of securing active shooters and waiting them out. Until that gets someone killed and then they can come up with another plan. When the situation turns from threats to shots being fired the on scene Officers have to end that immediately. The man put citizens and Police in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. If you are suggesting a duty to retreat it will be applied across the board. We have fought for years to get rid of that.
  9. I use this, its pretty cool. http://mygundb.com/
  10. If you read my last statement I didn’t defend anyone. Since you follow my comments enough to know I am part of the problem you must know that when the cops are wrong; I say so. Absolutely I support the Police when they are right; proud of it. We have all seen your comments and know how you feel about the Police.
  11. This is exactly the place you use a SWAT team. There was an active shooter in a residential area. I submit that if one of his rounds had killed an innocent citizen down the street, those here ripping on the cops would have been condemning them for not reacting in time and calling for their dismissal.   People with mental disabilities pull guns and start shooting people all the time. The Sandy Hook shooter had mental disabilities. If a teacher in the hallway killed him as he approached with a gun and no kids were killed would we be having discussions about how the kid had a mental illness and should not have been shot? Sure we would and some would be calling for the disarmament of all teachers. Because we would have no way of knowing 26 lives were saved.   Bottom line: When you start shooting at people and refuse to surrender you are probably going to get shot.   The Police records have been sealed by a Judge and a special prosecutor appointed. We will see. I don’t see how they could blame anyone but the shooter.
  12. Ever faced an active shooter? Did you check their age before returning fire?
  13. I haven’t bought any 9mm in over 20 years, is $64 for a 250 round bulk pack a good deal on reloaded ammo?
  14. Exactly. I figured that would have been included in the story if it was the case.
  15. If he was nervous about being stopped and then admitted to a crime (carrying a club), why do you think it was overkill to check him out? They could have arrested him.
  16. Because he was about to get hit? I don’t know I wasn’t looking into the eyes of a guy getting in my face and yelling; he was. He moved him back, which is a perfectly acceptable move, and he was attacked. We don’t know why the cops were following them or what was said outside. So “probable cause” isn’t even an issue here. The two brothers said the cops were following them and “profiling” them before they pulled into the restaurant. Why? Situations involving cops get out of hand quickly all the time. But that could have just been two citizens that had words with those guys. When you start throwing blows; you go to jail. The cops are a minority. They are white cops in a black Police Department, in a black city. They may have overreacted but got cleared because they are a minority. They may have beat the two brothers to playing the race card. If Al and Jesse do show up they better be protecting those cops. If the brother that started the attack is the one that wants to be a cop; I hope any PD that considers hiring him sees this video. If he wants to stop Police violence he can start by not filling out an application. I’m just adding comments here; I really don’t know what happened and neither does anyone else, other than the investigators that investigated this incident.
  17. The cop put his hand out to move the guy back and was attacked. We don’t know what was said in the parking lot. Profiling? Profiling what? 82% of Detroit is black and 63% of the PD is black. Those must be busy cops if those guys are claiming they were profiled because they were black.
  18.   Well I’ll step right up and say fear keeps me from doing it. I got a letter from the BATF basically saying the TFFA had no standing with them and if I violated Federal law they would arrest me. I learned enough in law enforcement to know that the state can’t do jack to protect me and the states implication that they would stop Federal agents is ridiculous.   I’ve asked this question before and I’ll ask it again. As far as challenging the law why do we have to wait until someone violates it? There were no crimes committed or criminal defendants in Heller or McDonald. Why can’t we as a group file a case against the Federal government when they (BATF) have said we would be arrested for actions the state has deemed legal?
  19. All their work is paying off. Looks like they just went from the only state that doesn’t have some kind of carry to the 5th state to recognize “bear arms” as an individual right. I don’t like the language about “Until the ISP issue permits”, but the ruling will impact what they can and can’t prohibit.
  20. No, there is no reciprocity yet. They want $300 for a 5 year permit from someone out of state. You can however have a gun in your car if you can carry under the laws of your state, but it must be secured in a lock box if the vehicle is left unattended.   This is still all being worked out. I’m sure they will have reciprocity once all the permit holders there want to cross state lines.
  21. Sounds like it, but where in the world would they find someone to sell them one? Someone with an NFA legal item or an FFL isn’t going to do it.
  22. Tennessee has done it (although not on full auto weapons). But the law has not been tested. The BATF has said it does not recognize the TFFA (or others states either), and no one wants to be the guy to test it. Lose and you are looking at prison time. However, Legislators should know better than make threats they can’t back up. They can’t (legally) arrest a Federal Agent enforcing federal law.
  23. Why would they want that? What is it they want to do?   That may be, but our #1 line of defense is still out there. We have 18 ballistic submarines each with 24 missiles capable of reaching targets nearly 5K miles away with pinpoint accuracy.
  24. Shows you what kind of dirt bag Zimmerman is (for those that had any doubt). He can afford body guards and travel all over the country; but can’t pay the man that saved his life. Certainly he had a gun on him and certainly he taunted his wife and her father. I hope they get enough evidence to send this dirt bag to jail where he belongs.
  25. A tack driver, whether it be a firearm or a person is one that can place shots in a tight group and be in the center of the bull. Tight groups are okay when you are sighting in a scope, but when shooting for the prize they don’t mean squat if they aren’t in the center of the bull.
