There are even two versions of the DPMS. There isn’t much standard in the AR10 world.   I have a DPMS 308 panther and have thought about the S&W M&P10. I have 5 different M&P’s now and need to add this to the family. But the barrel looks pretty thin in the pictures I have seen for 308. I haven’t held one in person though. I figure a heavy barrel and a quad rail will be next.   I know my next one will everything on it that I want; the cost of switching out 308 stuff is crazy.

Since it only requires testing of job applicants when the potential employer requires it I would guess it will stand. I liked the proposed amendment that legislators and government workers are required to drug test; but of course that didn’t pass.

  So no, if there are no legal postings, and you are not ask to leave; you are good. If store personnel ask you to leave and you refuse; it’s no longer a posting or carry issue, it’s a trespass issue. But so far we haven’t seen a verifiable case of anyone with a HCP charged with carrying past a sign anywhere. So the chances seem pretty slim it would be tried on a non-posted property. There is little doubt this is fallout from the three stooges in Texas trying to make a point. Everyone gets to pay for it.

And you leveled a personal attack aimed squarely at me because you used my name. I can assure you and the mods can verify; I complained to no one about you, or the cop bashing threads. I have no problem with discussing or even arguing anything; but when it comes down to personal attacks I have to take the hits and not shoot back.

Won’t happen.   I have no doubt that some Federal and State legislators will try every day to introduce bills to take our guns. They may someday limit what we can have; but it won’t be soon. No one is going to confiscate your guns; the American people won’t stand for it. Now, before the “look at Katrina” crowds enters; Katrina was a small isolated incident in a very bad situation. But because of it many states including Tennessee adopted legislation to make sure it doesn’t happen again.  

They have a great reputation; they are very popular among both the civilian carry community and LEO duty users. You will always have people that say negative things about any gun or company. I have five M&Ps and don’t have any problem with the triggers.   Smith and Wesson is the pentacle of customer service should you need it and they are knocking out the foreign competition while holding price; of course they will get heat. All American made, accurate, very high quality, reliable, many options, and the best customer service in the business; what’s not to like.

I’m curious. One Officer tazed the guy. I wonder if the other Officer shot him at the same time, or what?   I don’t know why one investigation determined he was justified and a “subsequent” investigation determined he wasn’t? I wonder if the second was the DA, outside agency or if some other evidence came up?   But yes, he is charged criminally so I guess more information will be coming.   Tragic situation for all involved.

I have no idea why the EPA would need a SWAT team, although I can understand why they might want to have LEO’s with them; they have put many Americans and American businesses out of work.

It doesn’t surprise me that any branch of the government has armed security. I am armed. They leave me alone about being armed and I will leave them alone….. arm them all.

When I open that file I have options to fill it out and save as a PDF, output to excel, or save as a word document. I’m just using Adobe Reader XI. Even without those options there are free PDF printers; they will print anything you can print to a PDF.

Yes, it’s a state issued ID. The question comes into play what you are using it for. For example a gun hating store doesn’t have to accept it as ID. I don’t think the cop rejected the gun card, I think he was being a jerk trying to make a point about the card. He also questioned the passport? I think he was just being an azz.

I could fill the longest thread in here with stupid/criminal stuff permit holders have done. (Well probably not because it wouldn’t be allowed ) Does that lump us all into one group to be disrespected or justify outlawing carry guns? Of course not. I don’t think those people are representative of me or most of us. So why does this cop being a jerk cause anyone to start making general statements about cops? I have met really bad cops, yes they exist; this cop was just being a jerk with no people skills.

I would like to sell my 308 and build my own. I haven’t done it because I don’t think I could build one for less than I could buy one. 308 prices on lowers and quad rail hand guards are crazy. They don’t cost anymore to manufacture so I assume its because they haven’t really taken off yet. Once they become more popular and manufacturers can move their inventory faster; the prices should be about the same. There also are not “AR” standards in some of the other calibers.

Complete factory AR’s are below $700 and in stock again. You might be able to order parts and build one for less than that, but it would be close. As Mike said you would also need tools if you don’t have them.

I know no one else here probably did this; but I snuck stuff out of the house and took it to school when I wasn’t supposed to. With “Zero Tolerance” out of control these days I would want to make sure they knew that doing that could lead not only to suspension, but expulsion with a criminal record.

Standing guard over the perp in the same ER where two of your fellow officers are being worked on (one shot nine times) or facing a gunman that is trying to take your life makes you understand it’s no movie.   Did you not post in one of your other rants about cops that they are all people that couldn’t get jobs anywhere else?
