  1. Nonsense, most good attorneys would tell you to cooperate and be on your way. “Good Attorneys” being those that advising you on how to handle the situation without going to court or being a test case. Nope, you are not required by law to respect anyone’s authority; it’s what I chose to do. I recently was at a party where there were a bunch of Military Officers present. It’s been many years since I was in the military and I enjoyed talking to them. I addressed them by their rank or “Sir”. I was not required by law to show them respect, but in my eyes they had earned that. I treat Police Officers the same way. If they start questioning me I know what to say and what not to say so we can both go on our way. Of course as I said; that’s just me. I treat people I meet with respect no matter who they are unless I have a reason to treat them differently. Some people have problems with any type of authority and have respect for no one. I just made an observation. I don’t fear going to jail if I open carried a gun; I just don’t see it happening. Maybe it’s my people skills.
  2. Certainly its theft; its theft by deception. Eotech and Leupold optics are victims and so are the people that buy these optics thinking they are the real thing. (Among many other things)     The Feds might be involved because of jurisdictional issues. That’s why computer theft/fraud is rampant; many times the locals don’t have jurisdiction.
  3. Medical personnel would have had to leave the scene without checking for any sign of life. That’s pretty easy to check.
  4. I disagree; I don’t think it could happen to me. Police respond to calls and they check people out… period; that’s what they do and it won’t change. I don’t open carry, but if I did and a cop stopped me I would show him my HCP and be on my way. That’s not a choice I have; it’s the law of this state. However, even if I could I would never disrespect a Police Officer doing his job by refusing to answer his questions and show ID. I have responded to many citizens calls about suspicious people on everything from “They just don’t look like they belong around here” to “We have had a rash of burglaries in the area and I am concerned about this guy” to “The guy looks elderly and lost”. None of those things are against the law and any of them may cause you to be approached by the cops. Carrying a gun doesn’t get you immunity from being stopped if someone thinks you are suspicious and it never will. But hey, he got an out of court settlement (I’m guessing with no acknowledgement of wrongdoing on anyone’s part) that allowed him to buy a new rifle; win for him.
  5. The Illinois Supreme Court has struck down the “Amazon tax law” the New York Supreme Court has upheld it. The SCOTUS is deciding if it will hear a case. Has it been challenged in Tennessee?
  6. That story leaves more questions than answers. He says the video cuts off after the crash; so there is video of the pursuit, there will also be audio of the radio traffic. He lost control and crashed a motorcycle; I’m sure there is “evidence of a collision”. Mistaken identity may be why the trooper lit him up; but that shouldn’t have made his son run. It’s not unusual in fatal accidents for the body to stay at the scene while traffic investigators do their work. Who pronounced him dead? I would guess it was the responding paramedics. They would not “fully examine the body” the coroner would do that. It’s too bad the father lost his son. I’m sure if he would sit down with a THP Commander they would explain to him what happened. The hows or whys here would be pure speculation with absolutely no evidence.
  7. No. They could spend millions on a case, if he was convicted (won’t happen) Obama could (and would) pardon him with the stroke of a pen.
  8. This is a whole bunch of useless noise to detract from the real issues and keep gun control in the spotlight. Holder needs to be gone, but it won’t be over F&F. We just had a partial government shutdown. How about our legislators go back to work and fix the problems instead of dangling shiny objects for dramas sake.
  9. Wouldn’t that require an overhaul of the HCP training and testing requirements?
  10. A Suburban will do that. I been wanting to put one of these on the wifes Suburban for some time now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-uaFNGY_ug
  11. I disagree. We have been reduced to the bullying of private business owners by the state. Without a recognized RIGHT that is as ridiculous as it sounds.
  12. May be, but would you bet that same $50 that the next President is something other than a Republican or a Democrat? You may not like the two party systems, but that is how “The People” make it play out. I don’t think any Democrat is going to be supported by the members on this forum; so we can only hope the Republicans will run somebody that can win. The good news is you can vote for whoever you want. You can even vote for the communist party in this country. Personally I think that’s who won; but they had to get on the Democratic ticket to do it.
  13. +1. Need to quit messing around and trying to copy states that are something less. Constitutional Carry should be the next step for Tennessee.
  14. Because that just wasn’t my experience in dealing with ER docs. They were very leery of doing medical testing even when the suspect was the one requesting the testing. Most even required hospital administration approval. It’s just what made be skeptical when I saw this story; we will just have to wait and see what the outcome is.
  15. Wow.. .I had trouble getting ER docs to forcibly draw blood from a drunk driver after he killed a six year old kid. I can say I’m not shocked it happened (if it did), I’m a little surprised a Judge signed a warrant that wasn’t specific, but I’m pretty shocked they found Doctors that would go through that whole process.
  16. You don’t pay interest when you pay them off every month. No way would I use a debit card, the security risks are too high. I want my plastic and my bank account separate.
  17. I’m no psychic, but I will predict the new President will have an R or D after his/her name. With a strong 3rd party candidate showing it will be a democrat. Clinton, Biden, Cuomo or even another Obama; any of those sound good to you? Cruz has a chance, but he would need a solid following. Cruz/Paul?
  18. It’s laughable that the anti’s had something to do with this. How many loaded guns do you think they had to pass off before they found someone stupid enough to pull the trigger on an unchecked gun? Or were the anti’s people running around pulling the trigger on every gun they could get their hands on? No, I think it’s more likely some dumb azz just picked up a gun and pulled the trigger. We have to Police ourselves. It’s ridiculous to think that professional people at gun shows are allowing people to pick up guns and start sweeping the crowd. (I have never seen that at a gun show) That shouldn’t be tolerated; that should be followed by “Give me that gun back and get away from my table”. A kid big enough to pick up a scoped rifle should know better and if his dad gets all butt hurt about being dressed down in front of his kid; he needs to be shown the door.
  19. Are they illegal hunters? Why are people climbing your fences?
  20. If you want to see him go nuts; send him a link to this thread.
  21. I have not in my lifetime been presented with a Presidential third party candidate that had any real chance of being elected. Perot had a shot but of course he bailed before the election. He still got 20% of the popular vote which meant nothing because he got 0 electoral votes. The Democrats are united and will be tough to beat. I don’t know who the Republicans will run, but I’m sure we will all find things about him/her we don’t like. What bothers me the most is that those that would be good at the job; don’t want it. I think I should run for President.
  22. That’s my point. You can pick out your main interest; yours is government, mine is jobs/economy, others are abortion, illegal immigration, and some are gun rights. The President needs the support of Congress to get some things done. We have the most openly anti-gun President our country has ever seen. Has he been able to outlaw guns? Nope, but he has used it to keep from talking about the hard stuff. A vote isn’t a political statement, it’s a vote. Political statements are made outside the voting booth. I guess it could be considered a political statement if your person wins (voters sent a message); otherwise it just shows support for a person that didn’t get elected.
  23. My favorite….
  24. No one is saying you need to agree with either party. What some of us are saying is that it’s simple math and politics. This is America and you are free to vote for whomever you please. Facts get in way though. Fact is that our next President is going to be a Republican or a Democrat. You can make all the arguments you want that your third party guy is the best choice; but the fact is we are in a sad state economically. Jobs and the economy will decide the next President. The worse the economy gets the bigger the Democratic Party gets. Could the perfect candidate get elected? Let’s say we had a candidate that has good ideas on how to put Americans back to work, regain our manufacturing base, stop the illegal immigration that is helping to destroy our economy, wants less government intervention in our lives and smaller government, and support our rights under the Constitution. Well, that person is not going to be a democrat, so let’s assume he is a Republican. It would be a tough road. He will lose a lot of Republicans who use illegals to keep their business costs down, he will lose many that work for foreign manufactures that would lose work to American companies, and he would lose some if he supported making the 2nd an individual right. A third party candidate is a feel good pipe dream. I don’t need to make a political statement by who I support; I want someone that can get the job done. Two people will do battle in the next election. One a Republican and one a Democrat. One will be a winner and the other will be the first loser, no one cares how close it was and no one cares what the numbers are after the winner. Please help us by getting on one side or the other.
