Businesses asking for carry permit credentials
DaveTN replied to lock n' load's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I’m not saying that anyone should or shouldn’t open carry; that’s an individual choice and both are legal with an EHCP. But you have to think through your scenarios. Do people rob places with people, or security guards open carrying? Of course they do, because they make sure by the time that person figures out what is happening; they are either looking down the barrel of a gun, or are shot. If you are open carrying and a group of thugs decide they want your gun, chances are by the time you are justified in pulling it; they have control of you. -
So have I. And I wouldn’t say the attackers were particularly skilled, or knew what they were doing. Sometimes a knife is simply a weapon of opportunity. Stabbing and slashing doesn’t take a lot of skill. Firing a gun at close distances doesn’t either.

Zeroing red dots. Is it right if it’s only right for YOU?
DaveTN replied to One1's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Everyone will be different. Things like Eye glasses vs. Contacts, Both eyes open or one eye closed. Trigger pull is the biggest thing; even with the same person shooting. Being a target shooter is hard. That’s why you don’t see most people at an indoor range run the target out all the way, usually 25 yards. Because their “groups” look like a shot gun blast. Can you and your friends shoot a tight group? It doesn’t matter where that group is, is it tight? -
Sounds like he wanted to go to prison. That happens a lot. Why couldn’t he try to rob a bank, and be in a better prison. To bad those innocent people had to get in the way of his violence. Hope they get well, both physically and mentally.

If I ate a SONIC Double Cheeseburger every time I wanted one; someone would be driving me to an appointment… a Cardiologist appointment.

Good find, Let us know how it works. It looks like you can change the battery without removing the sight. I don't see any information about auto on/off, so I guess it probably doesn’t have that feature. There is a story on TFB about it with a bunch of drama in the comments section about whether or not its really made here. Same here. I almost had myself convinced with the reviews the Holosun was getting, it would be okay, and both my Vortex Venom and Fastfire III are made in the Philippines. But recent events snapped me back to reality.

Pop Pop, if you are going to be doing stuff like building ranges; you are going to have to learn how to post pics. Inquiring minds need to know…. and see.

The above would be funny.... except for sadly, it's true.

None of these numbers can be counted on as being accurate; none of them. But that’s okay, we only need a ball park idea of what’s going on. We know the testing numbers are totally worthless. When you add tens of thousands of test, or decide to test the entire prison population; you no longer have anything to compare those numbers to. In my opinion death numbers are the only thing we can look at. Death numbers are unaffected by tests, or how many tests are given. Some coroners may be playing fast and loose with the causes of death. But as long as we know that; that’s okay too. We are only looking at what happens to the change in the number of deaths as business returns and citizens get out of their homes. We don’t need those numbers interpreted for us by people that have an agenda. We can see them ourselves and make our own decisions. This ain’t brain surgery. It really isn’t even checkers.

$8K for a tear off and new roof on 2K SQFT house sounds like a heck of a deal.

Thank you. We certainly wouldn’t want to be accused of flip flopping all the time. Yes, you can absolutely be sure when it’s a common sense issue; that’s the side I will be on. Or if it’s a LEO issue with the possibility of them abusing it; I will give them the benefit of the doubt until it happens.

I don’t think so. That’s why South Korea is trying to figure out why 260 people are testing positive after recovering. https://www.livescience.com/coronavirus-reinfections-were-false-positives.html But they can only work with what they have, and what they know now. As things change, they will have to adapt and overcome.
-
Of course not. But it should mean you can't be sent to private citizens homes until you test negative. I would guess that people working as first responders that have tested positive is a crime. But I don't know that for sure.
-
Absolutely. If they have the ability or desire to answer truthfully; that would be great.
-
That should be as simple as asking that person. Wouldn’t you think?? Do you think hospitals and Doctors offices or Police Departments are allowing people that have tested positive to work with patients/Citizens? That would be a lot of liability.
-
That’s fine. It they abuse the information there should be consequences. But its like those that say the TBI has a double secrete database of gun owners. I don’t know if that’s true, but I know it would be a criminal act. All it would take is for one whistleblower to open an investigation.

AIDS was an STD that carried a lot of negative connotations. That is nothing like this. Doctors were falling all over themselves to say it wasn’t transmitted through the air; even when they didn’t know that. The world has big problems right now from a Virus that killing people and destroying economies. Making people aware of carries of that virus is not a problem. Anyone that thinks it is must believe what China did to allow this virus to spread is okay.

And they have decided to use that authority to not only protect their first responders, but to protect the public. Once a first responder is infected, they can then infect many more people when they are going from one call to the next. I’m not implying it needs to be a public safety issue, safety of the first responders is enough. Common sense; wouldn’t you agree?
-
Paramedics are you and I. Put whatever name on it that you like (or don’t like), rights, common sense, whatever. However I fully understand the discussion of the government disseminating any information will result in a variation of views. The courts will have to decide if it’s a HIPAA violation or a violation of anyone’s rights. Until that happens agencies will do whatever they feel is within the law to protect both the Public and the First Responders.
-
Now we are getting somewhere.
-
Correct. What would have happened if all the food industry workers stayed home, or Truck Drivers, or whoever? These folks are making the same decisions First Responders are making; go to work, even though it’s a risk. BTW…. the HERO ACT isn’t about heroes. I started a thread about it in the politics section because I didn’t know if it was appropriate for here.
