I’ve sent back in exactly 2 Smith & Wesson’s, but then I’ve been carrying and shooting them for over 40 years and have owned over a hundred easily. Not bad odds would you say? What kind of Glock do you have that no one has had problems with? If I remember right the last time you jumped into a thread bad mouthing the M&P you made references that pertained to the Sigma. Well thankfully he did go about his business; he went on with the business of saving the life of a man that was on his knees with a gun to his head. What lesson has the woman that made that call learned? She will teach her children that when you are threatening the lives of innocent people be aware of your surroundings and kill anyone that isn’t doing exactly as you say. The recording of that phone call should be played at his sentencing hearing and at his parole hearing when it comes up, so that it is known what type of environment he will be in when he is released.

What I’m talking about won’t be a CD; it’s a drive image that is created at the factory. You access it by a combination of keystrokes on startup. Dell has been using them for years, I don’t know if your HP has it or not, but it’s worth checking out. Keep in mind though that it’s not a program that deletes only what you have put on it; it actually formats and reimages the drive. It takes you back to the way the computer shipped. Anything you don’t have on a backup drive would be gone. The only thing you would have to reload is programs you want installed and all the windows updates. But it’s a lot easier and faster than formatting the drive and reloading the operating system and all the drivers.

Agreed; and I’m okay with that. Sometimes the Prosecution does a lousy job. What amazes me is that this guy seems hell bent on going to jail. There is a very good chance that would be a death sentence.

The only way that could happen would be if the Officers interrogated the suspect without reading him his rights and that was the only evidence. Many guilty people get off on technicalities, but not reading them their rights is not one of them unless they made a statement that was ruled inadmissible during a pre-trial motion and the DA decided not to go forward with the case. I have arrested many people on warrants and they seem to get upset because I didn’t read them their rights. I explain to them that they will be read their rights when they are questioned after being booked. Many times on a warrant the arresting Officer has no personal knowledge of the event that led to the charges. You could be cuffed and placed in a squad car without being under arrest; but it’s rare. We couldn’t cuff a person without them being under arrest; but it was a Department policy not the law.

I agree. The market is expanding wildly and we will see a lot of things coming in the future. The issue for some is that as deviate from the AR platform the costs increase. The AR10 is a good example; there is no standard and so the options are expensive. I would like to see the designers quit chasing the muticaliber AR platform and spend their engineering time on new rifles and platforms. The AR is 55 years old; time for change.

Both windows 7 and 8.1 are fine if you have the horsepower to run them. Don’t go by what you hear; see for yourself. Get a copy of acronis and image your drive. Install whatever system you want; if you don’t like it; switch back.

Performance is the issue. No software or virus program will fix that. A 5 year old bloated windows registry, programs installed and uninstalled, outdated drivers and years of surfing the net is the cause. Only one fix for that if you want to keep the computer you have. Format and a clean install of the OS and the programs you use.

I don’t have a pistol caliber carbine. I guess I need to call Smith & Wesson and have them make me up a 40S&W Carbine with a 33 round magazine that is compatible with my M&P pistols.

You are either under arrest or you are being detained. He was placed under arrest and transported. Nothing need be said but most Officers will tell you what you are being arrested for; but that is not required. Miranda is not required either.

S&W’s are pretty easy to work on. Most anyone could probably fix that. If you don’t feel comfortable taking it apart I would call S&W. They will probably treat you right. (Fix under warranty) As far as the “action job” goes S&W Performance center charges $165; tough to beat that. I do my own, but they are range guns; not carry guns.

Another case where at this time we have nothing to make any intelligent guesses about. I find it hard to believe there were no witnesses; even at 5AM. But we will see how it unfolds.

It’s recent and I wouldn’t count on it in the City of Chicago. Due to the 7th Federal Districts ruling and the Illinois Supreme Court ruling Illinois gun laws are in turmoil right now with Chicago fighting desperately to keep a gun ban in any way possible.
