  1. If it’s true; I would try to keep that piece of information off the internet until a decision on whether or not the shooter is charged. It certainly won’t help him.
  2. He usually does good videos, but he should have showed his son how to properly load a Garand. If the kid ever gets hold of one that is working properly he will have M1 thumb.
  3. Term limits has nothing to do with the mess we are in now; if someone stays in office for a long time it’s because the voters want them there. I’m okay with term limits on the office of the President; but not anyone else. It's hard enough to find good people that will run without further limiting the field. Multiple term politicians are there because the voters in their area want them there. If you are a disgruntled voter; run someone that can win, but you don’t get to legislate them out.
  4. Although gun safety could be added to the scenarios by those taking it seriously; It’s a shoot/don’t shoot simulator. It is as good a tool as the person using it. I didn’t see anything on their FB page that showed they don’t have any disciplines; but it’s just a video trainer. I have used trainers and they are great; but they are just another tool to gain experience. There is no fear or adrenalin. Any exposure to training and those knowledgeable in firearms will be a good thing for young people and the community.
  5. If you have never had any issues they should be fine. I have used these for many years in various calibers. Never had a issue with any of them; worked fine in every 1911 I have had. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/368552/federal-premium-personal-defense-ammunition-45-acp-230-grain-hydra-shok-jacketed-hollow-point-box-of-20
  6. Sounds like Steve Israel just wants to tack on a capacity limit and possibly hamper production of parts that are already plastic injected molded. Many states have already said they will not comply with that. I doubt the Federal government will be quick to restrict licensed firearms manufacturers from making anything solely based on the technology used to make it. If they did I doubt it would stand up in a court challenge. All these Federal gun control law attempts have failed. The States are claiming their rights; I doubt this will be any different. Of course I could be wrong.
  7. What’s the language? Because the Philly law says “unless that person possesses a license to manufacture firearms”. I’m just trying to understand why anyone would think this is an issue that isn’t already in place.
  8. Start your research right here.... http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/html/permits/gun_licensing_faq.shtml
  9. No new news really, this has little to do with 3D printing; plastic guns have been illegal illegal since 88. I doubt it will have any impact on manufacturing unless someone wants to manufacture plastic guns. That would require a manufactures FFL if you want to sell them regardless of this legislation.   Many of us here have the ability to create a CAD model of a gun without downloading anything. It would just be illegal to print it; we can however make it out of metal, they would work much better and be legal.
  10. Something is being done. It’s called States Rights. Like it or not gun control is a States Rights issue. We have more gun freedom now in this country as a whole than we have had in the last 40 years. Those that say we are losing our gun rights read it on the internet and decided it sounded right; nonsense. They can do this in places like NYC and Chicago because the voters will vote for people that make them promises they think they can take to the bank regardless of their stance on gun rights. Last year The 7th Federal district struck down Illinois carry ban. In Sept. the Illinois Supreme Court ruled that banning carry off your property is unconstitutional. However in all these cases including the decisions by the Supreme Court there has been language that allows for some reasonable restrictions by the state. Those restrictions will be handled and tested on a case by case basis by the states. Acknowledging the 2nd amendment gives the federal government total control over gun control can only end badly in the future. Gun control is a crime control issue which makes it a States Rights issue. Four or five states have constitutional carry with more on the way. The big issue here is that the economy is bad and poor voters are united. They do not care about gun rights when someone is promising them a paycheck and health care. Those people are firmly embedded in the Democratic Party. That is why those people are elected. People that do have jobs and healthcare are split all over the place with their priorities and their parties. Democrats are going to keep gun control and terrorism in the headlines because they are failing miserably on the platform they run on; jobs and the economy. Tennessee isn’t a safe haven for gun owners. Don’t kid yourself because you live here; it’s a crime to carry a gun in this state.
  11. Won't impact the rest of the country one bit. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/73038-nyc-gun-compliance-order/
  12. Of course it’s all subjective. Saying your RIA will outshoot a Kimber is subjective. Putting your RIA and a Kimber in the hands of an unbiased qualified shooter at 25 yards and then looking at the targets would be objective. Usually the Kimber haters are whining about the price. I’m just saying any top of the line mass produced 1911 for $669 new is a deal.
  13. “Convict Custom cycles” I have floorboards, but I’ve got faster places if it’s not on me.
  14. I don’t use the Seagate software; I use Acronis; so I don’t know. I would guess it would be okay as long as you have everything backed up. Hard drive failing, Ram failing, Video card drivers; could be anything; most all of it bad. Do you know when it started? After I knew I had everything backed up I would use either system restore, or if your backup software lets you reimage to a prior date, I would try that and see if it continues.
  15. I haven’t used the feedback thing so I’m confused. You left him negative feedback; he returned the favor (I would think that would be the obvious thing to happen) and you think his negative feedback should be removed? I thought if someone said they would buy something and didn’t follow through they got barred from the marketplace or kicked off the forum?
  16. Nothing wrong with a Kimber; it’s lonely at the top. Time to make a move up.
  17. If you can get past it; back everything up. Blue screen of death is generally serious hardware issues or a corrupt OS. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-windows-7
  18.             This reminds me of the TN case of Mike Claiborne. He was with his girlfriend and another couple looking at a house that was for sale. He thought the owner was gone. They were on the back deck when the owner shot through the door hitting Claiborne in the back of the head and killing him. The homeowner never called out, turned on a light or called Police; just fired though the door. A Grand Jury refused to indict.
  19. Please give some insight as to what you want to do with this rifle and why you picked this caliber?
  20. I think it’s around $15K, but there may be some black Friday deals tomorrow.
  21. That’s a heck of a price.
  22. Here’s a link to one that you don’t need any more money for glass. http://www.remingtonmilitary.com/Firearms/Sniper%20Rifles/MSR.aspx
  23. I don’t think a 338 lapua Magnum would be much fun to shoot from a standard bolt action stock; it needs a platform. So I would go with the Remington MSR or the Accuracy International. But you need more coinage.
  24. Yes, but I wouldn’t hold you up as an example of normal.
  25. I would guess from the info they submitted when they got their $431.50 Handgun license or $231.50 rifle/shotgun license.
