Constitutional Amendment Convention Gaining Momentum
DaveTN replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If there is a Constitutional convention; the 2nd amendment will be gone. -
He’s in Florida and wants to move to Texas. Let him start pulling guns on those Texans; justice will be served.

.22lr 525 bulk packs at Wally Murfreesboro
DaveTN replied to serbu50's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I bet a few thousand wouldn’t put a dent in what most Wal-Mart stores do in ammunition sales. I would also bet they are the largest single customer of a few ammo companies. -

What in the world would make you think that “most†store managers of a company that sells guns and is probably the largest supplier of ammunition in the world would be anti-gun??? -
Night stand guns caliber and capacity
DaveTN replied to Duck's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I’m certainly not a Glock fan and would never own one either, but I find it against the odds that a person knowledgeable with firearms and having tested the carry weapon for a couple of hundred rounds prior to carrying would have a failure the first time he needed it. I understand that it could happen, but it could happen with any mechanical device. What turned out to be the cause of the failure? But it also shows what the experience of facing an armed shooter is like. I doubt your friend would throw a round that far off at the range with the target feet away. -

Why doesn’t Wal-Mart just put the stuff out whenever it comes in or randomly throughout the day? That would pretty much end the lines and give the rest of us a chance. I know this isn’t a big enough deal for the higher ups to even is aware of, but you would think the store Managers see what’s going on. -
I would gladly pay the $200 for a 01 FFL, and the “search†issue isn’t even an issue with me. But all I had to do was look at the home business requirements for Murfreesboro and that was the end of it. If you think you can meet the local requirements to start a gun business you should be okay with the ATF. Let us know how it goes. The other issue is how are you going to maintain retail sales when you will be competing against gun shops?

My carry guns are tools that my life depends on. So they are well maintained and well taken care of. I wouldn’t even toss one of my Tupperware guns across the ground. And if you have a trainer that wants you to do that; find a new one. Like when you see a Vette for sale and it says “Never been in the rainâ€.

That’s home invasion. They are a whole different breed of criminal from a burglar and I can tell you from responding to the aftermath; you better be able to put a loaded functioning gun in your hand in seconds. -
Lefty Media still uses Zimmerman as a lever vs RTKBA
DaveTN replied to Hershmeister's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don’t know what the policy is in Tennessee; our discretion was taken away on domestic violence, as I think it has been in most places. But a Threat with a deadly weapon generally steps it up from domestic violence to aggravated assault. When you are in a home that one person has called the Police and accused another of threatening them with a gun; you don’t leave them both there. (At least I didn’t) -

I think he’s dumber than a box of rocks. But when his wife made the domestic violence report; he was not arrested. I don’t know why; you or I would have been. Maybe he saw that as the cops being concerned with who is was, I don’t know. -
I emailed them with a description of what happened and my serial number. Mine was responded to with a link to Fed-Ex Shipping label about two days after I contacted them. From the day I dropped it off at Fed-Ex to the day I picked it up was 26 days. Are you using the “qa@smith-wesson.com†email? I never needed to talk to anyone but if you do the Phone number is 1-800-331-0852 (USA) Mon-Fri 8:00AM-8:00PM Eastern Time.

I guess we will have to wait for the evidence to be leaked a little bit at a time. As I said in my previous post I found it hard to believe they were the only two there; sounds like they weren’t. But unless someone comes forward or there is video it’s going to be like the Zimmerman case; two people know what happened and one is dead.

I don’t, but what we think or what that jury decided won’t matter; his hands aren’t tied with beyond reasonable doubt. -
Night stand guns caliber and capacity
DaveTN replied to Duck's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
My carry guns are all semi-autos. My nightstand gun is a S&W 686 revolver. So six rounds of 357Mag before I would have to switch to other available options. -
An 01 FFL is only $200; many of us would have one without a second thought. The regulations on home businesses and zoning laws block most of us from doing that. The ATF now checks with local government to make sure you meet their (local) requirements. The ATF is also now trying to weed out those that aren’t actively selling to the public. I think if you can get a business license and meet the local requirements for having a business in your home, you should be okay. There aren’t any state laws that I’m aware of, but I never got past the city requirements.

Congress Warned of Potential for Citizen Revolt
DaveTN replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So the government is going to be overthrown because of Obama care? Give me a break. If the government is overthrown so is the Constitution; it becomes a worthless piece of paper. That won’t happen. Now I won’t rule out an economic collapse of the government. But then everyone loses. I hate Obama and his ideas as much as anyone; but not enough to turn my back on my country. -

Well when Zimmerman has to answer to God for his actions; it won’t be a liars contest. So while I’m pretty sure the first part of that won’t happen; I’m absolutely sure God won’t be calling it a "righteous shoot". -
Excellent video. I support this fully and have always done so openly. WE DO NOT HAVE A NEED TO KNOW. The American public does not have a need to know. All Americans are not our friends and they will leak or sell information to our enemies. It wasn’t until the Vietnam War that Presidents were active in military and covert operations. You see how that ended. The Military and the CIA are run and manned by the best we have to offer; let them do their jobs.

Then you are exactly like some of us; you couldn’t do your job without a Windows PC. If you have to use Windows in a Mac; it’s Windows.
-
To all the Apple/Mac users… We don’t hate you. Most of us don’t use Windows or Dells (or any other PC brand) because we love them. Many of us use them because of the fields we work in. Mac owns the graphic arts industry. Windows owns the Engineering and manufacturing industries. If you need to draw pictures, check your email and surf the web; a Mac is great. If you need to build models in engineering packages, interface models with aerospace and automotive customers, program CNC machines and exchange those programs with customers, and interface machine controllers, all while checking your email and surfing the web; you need a PC. Mac may someday take Windows down as the OS with the largest customer base on earth. And when they do that it will be fine because it means they are capable of doing all the heavy lifting; but that’s not right now.

I was going to comment earlier, but I wasn’t sure I was interpreting the statement right; my interpretation was the same as yours. That and I wasn’t sure you could burn a Mountain in Tennessee at any time of year.
