I could not keep from laughing out loud if I ever saw that.

It generally requires intent. There is no law that a HCP holder couldn’t ask to see if your weapon was unloaded, or if it is illegal (stupidity is not illegal). It would be illegal if that person did something to make you think they are a Police Officer and you are compelled to comply. Seeing a badge and assuming they are a cop is not enough. If you ask them if they are a Police Officer and they say yes; that’s a crime (if they aren’t).

Total Having a court ruling that you are a likely danger to the public is a specific documented disqualifying event. If it’s not then let’s let both the Feds and the state know that they need to shut down background checks all together because they obviously (according to you) don’t have the authority to keep firearms out of the hands of nut cases. Maybe you will lose some of what you perceive as gun rights if you plan on dressing up as Timmy Tactical, strapping AK across your chest and walking through a park where families are trying to enjoy the day with their children without some nut case putting everyone in danger. Or open carrying your AR downtown thinking cops should be afraid to stop an obvious nutcase. Yes, if you think either of those things are okay then your rights are at risk. That will lead to concealed means concealed. I don’t open carry, but I don’t particularly want to see it banned; but being a nut case will lead to that.

Obviously not if he shooting a 45-70 for fun.

It has amazed me that it took this long for him to lose his FFL, and if it hadn’t been for his stunt in Nashville he may not have lost it. Every freakin gun hater in the country posts every story they can find about a nut job that passed a background check, and the media covered every one of his ridiculous events, but the Feds hand a license to a guy that has been deemed a likely danger to the public and had his HCP revoked by the state he lives in and the media stands silent. So the Feds want to push background checks on the states, but they can’t even do a proper one themselves for a firearm dealer. Goes to show you it’s worthless. More government work for people that can't do their job.

As hard as that 45-70 kicked you?

The member here who was supposed to get the .22 LR from me?
DaveTN replied to a topic in General Chat
The market is correcting itself. Yes, you have been hearing that for 3 months and you may hear it for 3 more months. .22 ammo is available. It may not be as easy and walking into your Wal-Mart and picking it off the shelf anytime you like; but it will be. (Until the next bunch of drama) Please don't take offense, I’m not saying you are ripping anyone off. I’m saying that many of us have vowed not to buy ammo at a markup from any resellers. When the resellers don’t have a market; the problem will correct itself. It also isn’t just the resellers; many people are simply picking up .22 for their own use when they see it on the shelves. Nothing wrong with that, but eventually it will level off. -
For the range I would want a .357. For hunting hogs I would want a 30-30; Dear hunting is illegal. I think Marlin and Henry are the only new American made levers. In used I would try to find an older American made Winchester.

I would have asked the same question I ask any time someone implies they are a cop (LEO, works in LE, all those other nonsense statements). “Are you a Police Officer?†That’s a yes or no answer and since he is asking to check your weapon the wrong answer should get him an impersonating charge.

Copper plated or copper coated are the same; plating process. Copper jacketed are different; forming process.

Legality of buying a crate of Mosin's for a group
DaveTN replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Yes, but you are also talking about someone that is openly committing a federal firearms crime on the internet and making themselves easy pickings. Fish in a barrel. -

You may not be, but the gun you bought would be seized as evidence if he was arrested. -

No. I have a C&R and I can’t obtain firearms with the intent of transfer to others. -

He’s wrong. Whether he has a C&R or not. This is argued all the time. We all see people that we know are dealing guns for profit. Are they busted? Not until something happens that they become a target. You can google the stories of what happens next. Confiscation of all firearms, tens of thousands in legal fees, jail time. Not really worth it. The ATF puts no hard and fast numbers on it. Could be 5 could be 50 depending on the situation. They just make the arrest and let you deal with the court. -

I know you said that you don’t care what anyone thinks, but let me make a couple of observations. The supply chain is recovering; this is a self-correcting problem. We should be refusing to buy marked up ammo from anyone no matter what their explanation of why they are doing it. You are openly advertising that you are retailing ammo at a markup; making yourself a target for any agency that wants to make an example of someone retailing ammo. If the hammer falls on you; you won’t be seen as a good guy. Just my opinion. -
M1 Garand Service grade from CMP with a certificate of authenticity and CMP case 649.95 shipped to your door or picked up in Anniston. 870 around $400 anywhere. So it sounds like someone kept you from spending $1400 on an $1150 deal.

I don't know where you would get one, but do you have a quality scope on it? My opinion would be that would be the first step in making a tack driver, unless you already know something is wrong with the barrel.

I don’t see where those with religious beliefs are getting in an uproar about it. Granted, they might be upset when they are called homophobes or bigots when neither is true. It’s an emotionally charged issue for some which leads to name calling. I don’t fear or have any animosity towards gays. It does pizz me off when I see the gay thug groups that go after anyone that makes a statement that they don’t like.

Free Speech In America - 2013 Edition
DaveTN replied to Garufa's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Asking to have information removed has nothing to do with free speech. Neither does taking or threatening civil action. As far as I know the 1st amendment unlike the 2nd is alive and well. -

Phil has a Master Degree in Education and was a teacher. Charlie was expelled from High School for poor grades and attendance. This would be a lopsided debate; but sure would be fun to watch.
-
They are contractually bound; they can’t leave. They can make lousy shows if A&E doesn’t back down on the Phil lynching. This is the biggest show A&E has ever had; someone will be ordered to come to their senses.
-
Wow, I never would have thought Cracker Barrel would get involved in a religion/gay dispute.
-
I bet they can’t. I’m sure they all signed contracts that keep them from switching networks. If they can A&E needs a new legal department. The public’s reaction and the ratings is what will drive A&E’s decisions. Unless this is a publicity stunt; someone at A&E may already be in a jam. The GQ magazine article wasn’t even an issue until A&E made it one.
