  1. It’s a non-starter; the states will never agree to it and neither will the Feds.
  2. I have been suggesting that for a long time, but some members that say they are in the know say it won’t happen. But I don’t see anything in that letter that implies a “Constitutional Carry Push”.
  3. What do you think this is about? http://handguns.remington.com/?utm_source=bronto&utm_medium=email&utm_term=footer&utm_content=Live+Ready+-+Coming+This+February&utm_campaign=RemHandGuns-LiveReady
  4. Why not apply to be a cop? Metro pays from $17.36 an hour for a trainee to $22.65 for a Police Officer II with full benefits.
  5. If you like that kind of stuff read about the Winchester House in CA or about how Dr. Richard J. Gatling thought that by inventing the Gatling gun people would see how futile war is. Little did he know.....
  6. Fly this flag, most of the haters don't know what it is when they see it.
  7. It isn’t that people won’t step up; it’s that many of them can’t and a lot of them refuse to deal with the scrutiny. I have told several times I should run for office; I have most of the answers. But I told them I would have to start with “Well, all that stuff you have heard about me; it’s true, now let’s move on”. You could pick anyone you like (That has a chance of getting elected) and someone on this forum will bad mouth the crap out of them. We all have different ideas and many have our own little pet projects. It’s a give and take. I’m a conservative Republican that believes I have a right to carry a gun (I just don’t happen to believe that right comes solely from the 2nd amendment). My main interest is the economy; it is the root of our hardships problems and separation as a country. It impacts the family unit, the community and causes crime. However, I would vote for a liberal Democrat if he had the ideas to put this country back to work. Of course that won’t happen…. But I’m just saying. But you can’t make the announcement you are a libertarian and expect a bunch of glad handing and high fiving. Many of us would like to see smaller government; but that doesn’t mean we are libertarian. Rand Paul is a Libertarian but he is a member of the Republican Party. Could Rand Paul be President? Well I think right now his inexperience would be the issue; but it would depend on who was running against him. But I think he would have a chance. If he ran on the Libertarian ticket he would have no chance. I didn’t mean my post to be an insult; sorry if you took it that way. My point was fact. Not many Libertarians would vote democratic; in a two party system most would vote Republican. If I was running for President on the Democratic ticket I would hope Rand Paul would run as a Libertarian. I would pay Rand Paul to run as a Libertarian. They haven't really started ripping on Rand yet. Will he be able to weather the storm of being put under a microscope? And why on earth would I want to put together more than two coherent, meaningless sentences.
  8. Instead of paying for an FBI background check I spent $30 for a C&R license. Unlike the TBI; the BATF told me exactly what was showing up (Actually what wasn’t showing up; a disposition) and how to fix it. I followed their instructions and have never had a problem again, plus I got a C&R FFL. Prior to that I had it happen twice after coming to TN. Both times I appealed at the time I was turned down and the denials were revered within four days. After the BATF explained to me what was happening and how to fix it I haven’t had a problem. TBI should have explained it to me; but they were clueless.
  9. Hi Jerry, I’m glad you found a label you could attach to yourself. But remember this when you are in that voting both for the Presidential election you are so concerned about…. The President is going to be a Democratic or Republican.
  10. Oh I don’t think we will be either. But “Yankee agitators” and “Dixie”… Really? The War of Northern Aggression was 150 years ago; and will never be fought again. We may someday have a civil war but it sure won’t involve the “Yankees” and “Rebels” it will be economic and will know no state lines.
  11. Secession won’t happen. It’s not about states and if it were Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville won’t be on the same side as Murfreesboro, Jackson or Columbia. There are similar situations in most states. The civil war was the most devastating war our country has been involved in. The only people that want to fight it again are those that don’t know their history and those that haven’t thought for single second what it would to the economy, their children, and the future of our Nation. You use the term “Dixie” like it applies to southern states today. Who do you think controls Memphis, Atlanta, Birmingham, New Orleans, Montgomery, Savannah?
  12. That can happen if you have an arrest that doesn’t show a disposition. Doesn’t matter if its 20 years old, doesn’t matter if it for something that would not disqualify you anyway, and it doesn’t matter if you know it was dismissed or what the disposition was.
  13. Since this is about history and its accuracy; General Sherman said that.
  14. Did you home school your kids?
  15. I disagree. You have to communicate with your kids. Whether they go to a public school, or private school they will get information you do not agree with. The thought of some of the people I know that have said they were going to home school is far scarier than the school system; these kids don’t have a chance. Don’t make you kids pay the price for you being upset with some political belief the school has or how they feel about issues like guns. I remember when I heard my step son and his friends talking about a traffic stop and one of them said “The Police need a warrant to search your car.” Now… usually I stay out of their discussions, but I felt they deserved to have the proper information so those dumb azz words would not pass their lips on a traffic stop. When I asked who told them that they said one of their teachers and another kid said his Dad told him the same thing. I didn’t tell them both the teacher and the Dad are dumb azzes and should stick to what they know, so we had a discussion about traffic stops. I think they understood better than their teacher, or the uniformed parent. You know the teachers, no matter whether public or private, put their own spin on history. So you have talks with your kids about what they are learning. This is just my opinion, but I believe home schooling should be outlawed. Most of those kids will be left behind not only in their education but also in their social skills. When that happens will the parents accept the blame? Of course they won’t, they will blame the schools, the government and anyone they can find to blame.
  16. Why would you say that about the Tennessee legislature? Our gun laws here are pretty good. I mean let’s face it; we are reduced to arguing about whether or not a private employer has to recognize our rights when the state doesn’t even do it. If our state government is willing to pistol whip private property owners into submission over guns…. Isn’t it time for the state to recognize guns as a right? Of course it has zero chance of passing if it is never submitted. The state is pizzed about the threats the Feds are making. I don’t think I’ve seen a better time to make the move.
  17. Is there anywhere around Murfreesboro or the Midstate that has a good selection of knives in stock, or do I have to go to SMKW in East TN?
  18. I’m looking for an ultralight pocket folder in a 3 to 4” blade. What are the recommendations of those in the know about knives?
  19. Why didn’t Sen Mark Green file a bill to acknowledge the 2nd amendment rights of all citizens of the state instead of those of us that are part of a “special group” and then all this non-sense would be moot? Until the state recognizes carry as a right; they don’t have jack squat to say about whether or not a private property owner allows guns on his property. Carrying a gun in Tennessee is a crime. The state does not allow you to carry a gun on their property but seem to think they can drive the opposite down the throats of private business and industry. Any legislator that takes part in this is part of a thug government and I hope the voters see that.
  20. Nathan Bedford Forrest is buried in that park. Are they going to move his burial site or just continue to allow the kids to vandalize the grave, now that they have “reeducated” them about history so as to fit their agenda?
  21. Maybe. But if you have the money to purchase the amount of ammo it would take to do it; the gun probably won’t be a big deal.   Yes. Even a change in brands can change your POI.   As a defense weapon, No. As a target gun, yes.
  22. Facetious….it happens here a lot. I understood what he meant.
  23. A black Attorney General working for a black President and whining about discipline being racist. They both should be ashamed. Everyone that got that letter should mail it back to Holders office with a note to go pound sand; he is the racist.
  24. That’s why cops will always respond to a man with a gun call; it will never stop no matter what the courts do. Idiots like this guy and our local idiot that pulls this kind of stuff will cause open carry to be banned before the cops are forced to wait for someone to lose their life before they act.
  25. I wish the industry would come up with a standard for a 308 AR.
