  1. Obviously it’s tied to the tag; it has the same number. Members here that are cops have said they get that information. Just because the dispatcher doesn’t always give it unless asked doesn’t mean it’s not there. There might be department policies on it or simply Dispatcher discretion. If I ran a plate for owner information; that’s what the dispatcher gave me. If I ran it for Owner/DL info they gave me that. This comes up all the time. I think it’s clearly been answered that they can get your HCP information. In Tennessee it shouldn’t be an issue to the Officer unless you appear to be impaired/intoxicated, he is going to search you or your vehicle, or he is going to take you into custody. It is information for an out of state Officer to use however he can justify. It is not PC to search you or your vehicle for weapons, but nothing keeps him from asking if you have weapons in the vehicle, (Its done all the time with people that don’t show up with a carry permit) and that could be PC depending on the circumstances.

    Tail gating.

Shoot, I can’t count the number of times I have had cops tailgating me at speeds far beyond the speed limit, sirens blaring, lights flashing; didn’t bother me a bit. Pretty good bunch of guys.

    Carry question

No, you are a convicted felon and can’t carry even in those states that have constitutional carry.   HCP doesn't make sure people that are carrying are "law abiding".
  4. Surface area, Mass, Velocity. It lacks two of the three. I doubt it will be popular with LE as a duty round. Looking tough and being new won’t cut it if the physics and ballistics aren’t there. I think it will probably go the way of the Glaser and other frangible ammo...quietly into the night. It’s a shame though; all that machining of ammo and money involved would help our manufacturing base; if they are machined here.
  5. I don’t think you can blame the education system or the Feds for that… can you? If you daughter wants to find out if knives are allowed at her school or her place of work isn’t it her responsibility to find out?
  6. You don’t need sights inside a house; you need to be able to identify your target. If you think there is any possibility you could kill one of your kids sneaking in you need to address that issue. I would say you need light. I don’t have that concern because I keep lights on in the house outside the bedroom. I have a flashlight in case the power goes out.
  7. I wish we could just get the ammo we use. I’m not real worried about what the next useless designer round is.
  8. If they think 90% of otherwise law abiding citizens will register their stuff because of an extended time; they are truly ignorant. If 90% of otherwise law abiding citizens are refusing to comply with a law; the law is wrong.

    Carry question

Depends on your record and how much money you have for a defense.   The price to replace a gun will probably pale in comparison to your attorneys fess or time in jail.
  10. Probably because analysts think if S&W goes toe to toe with CA, S&W gun sales will increase. I look for CA to back down or repeal the legislation. But that’s just a WAG, I don't know anything.

    Starter .308?

You need a hefty budget to play the 7.62 AR game. There is no standard (Mil-Spec) for a 7.62 AR and accessories and tools are pretty pricy. Of course you also need optics of some kind.
  12. It’s because firearm dealers are licensed by the Federal government. Once it crosses state lines or if the sale is handled by a licensed FFL; it’s Federal. States control the transfer of weapons within the state and the bearing of arms. So within the state you get to go by state laws as long as an FFL is not involved.

    Walther PPK

I call it a step above a spitball and a straw, but a lot of people like it. But then I haven’t owned a 9mm in over 20 years either.
  14. Lights out

Maybe this will help save time. http://www.waltherarms.com/walther-pistol-comparison-chart/#.UuQmtBvnafA

    No
  17. An executive order by Obama is going to cost Rodman a million bucks? I doubt that will happen.
  18. It will never end. People are going to kill each other no matter what. And gun control neither for or against is going to change that.
  19. Looks like it will get a lot of attention.
  20. How can Glocks stay on the list but they are threatening to kick the M&P's off?
  21. Where do the other gun companies stand on this SIG/KAHR/GLOCK/BERETTA? And who is doing micro stamping?
  22. Interesting concept. However, most “duty” or self-defense shooting will be close and not really involve sights. But it does give another option. I wish someone would make some adjustable target sights for our Tupperware guns. Which has nothing to do with these sights, but I was hoping that was what they were.
  23. That’s not “Not paying attention”. That’s DUI and leaving the scene. Whoever did that needs to be in jail. And they certainly aren’t a friend.
  24. That’s what I’m saying. I’m not against the parking lot issue if its a right, but don’t try to claim a right you don’t have to justify it. If the state wants to tell a private property owner it’s allowed; it must be allowed for all citizens and it must be a right. Is that too much to ask?
  25. The state controls the gun laws because we had a civil war and they have controlled them since. If you want to blame it on racism; knock yourself out. I thinking anyone following this discussion can see that I’m not complaining about Tennessee not having Constitutional Carry; I’m just stating it as fact and saying that the time to fix that is now. Who would have ever thought you would see me absolutely opposed to the act of a thug government and Robert supporting it? Scorn, contempt, scoff, jeer, mock… really? Robert, I don’t think anyone here needs you to try to explain what I’m saying as its clear that you are much more interested in attacking me than discussing the issues. So can we knock off the childish nonsense?
