Make sure your daughter always has a cell phone and as the others have said slow to a safe speed, turn on your hazards, call 911, try to remain calm and talk to the dispatcher. Officers (marked or unmarked) making stops on unpopulated or unlit roads where you can’t obviously tell who they are, are not going to have a problem with you driving to a well-lit or populated area. Two victims can ID this driver and the car. If they are from around here it won’t be long before they are in jail; especially with a car like that.

When you are convicted of a felony (or a violent misdemeanor) you automatically lose your gun rights. You also are barred from some jobs and just won’t be selected for many others because you are a convicted felon. Actions have consequences. Being able to petition the court for a, restoration of rights, an expungement of that conviction, or even a full pardon is reasonable.

NYSAFE Anti-gun activist busted for carrying a gun into school
DaveTN replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
For it to be a “set-up†they would have had to plant a gun on him. Why does it matter whose number shows up on 911, cops don’t tell who called; that’s why they call it anonymous. “Test a new law? Are you kidding me? You are going to have to work harder than that to pass that bridge title off to someone else. -
NYSAFE Anti-gun activist busted for carrying a gun into school

He lobbied for a law that would make carrying a gun into a school a felony. Now he is arrested on felonies for doing just that. We give him a break because he says he forgot? I don’t think so so. -
I don’t think anyone is saying training isn’t important. Gunsite is a respected place that is known nationwide; people will pay those prices. Could a person that can’t afford that get that level of training in Tennessee? I would say yes. I’m sure there are trainers here that are as good for less money. I also would say a person could gain a considerable amount of training and meet some great people to help them by shooting in matches. $1500-$1800 handgun classes are not targeting the mainstream gun owner. Many people can’t afford that; some can’t even afford the cost of an HCP. But that doesn’t mean those people can’t get any training; they just need to either work harder at finding it, or ask for help here.

They are. If you can find a Tennessee manufacturer that is willing to sell you one; the state says it’s legal. (TFFA) Of course the BATF will pull his FFL if he has one and charge you both; but the state will help you.

Who cares? I don’t care if a convicted felon ever gets his rights back. But there are things they can do to make it happen other than whining about it. But there is absolutely a difference in violent and non-violent felons. Non-violent felons in this state can get their rights restored in some cases. Violent and drug felonies they can’t. That is Tennessee’s call on the matter; has nothing to do with the Feds.

George Zimmerman boxing rapper DMX in celebrity match

Oh gee, who would have thought? http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/09/us-boxing-zimmerman-idUSBREA1800720140209 I think this was a publicity stunt that was never going to happen. My challenge still stands though; I’ll fight Zimmerman. -
It shouldn’t even be an issue. The only time cops should be forcing entry into a house is in an armed standoff or a hostage situation. As we saw in Lebanon there is always a possibility they have the wrong house. I couldn’t care less if a drug dealer dies in the exchange, but when innocent citizens or a Police Officer gets killed; there is no justification for it. Officers need to start saying no. And Chiefs or Sheriffs that think these tactics are okay; need to be replaced. SWAT teams serve a purpose, but they are the last choice not the first, and they certainly shouldn’t be used to get a doper that any Patrol Officer could cuff and stuff at any time if he is given the nod.

I doubt it was a case of jury nullification or “the people†saying anything. In a Grand Jury hearing only one side gets to tell the story; the DA. When you see a failure to indict and only the DA gets to present; it’s usually because the DA doesn’t want to try the case, but doesn’t want to dismiss it either. A murdered Police Officer will put that kind of pressure on a DA that can’t stand his ground on his own. Grand Juries are one sided “he said she said†circuses usually used for political reasons or as a tool for investigations into on-going cases. They hold little real fact finding credibility; that’s why many states don’t require them or don’t require the DA follow their recommendations.

I know, and I’m not really for double jeopardy. I think if this happens, him being out in the public will likely result in a just ending. -

I would make the claim that Zimmerman only accosted martin because he was black. I didn’t care about that in the state trial because I contend it didn’t matter if it was a factor or not; he was committing a criminal act by chasing Martin. The state chose not to make that argument. I would then offer the testimony of witnesses and I would see how often he called the Police on white kids. I would then convince a jury that Zimmerman was committing a crime when he started chasing Martin and that his actions were reckless resulting in the death of martin. Or in other words, what a good prosecutor would have done in his state trial. -

It was okay when they did it to the LA cops in the Rodney King case. No, I’m not okay with double jeopardy; I’m just pizzed this dirt bag is still walking around free and trying to make money off killing a kid. I don’t think this will happen anyway, it’s some kind of scam. I don’t think he has the sack to get out in public. -

I’m almost twice Zimmerman’s age and I would fight him. It wouldn’t be a particularly good fight to watch as I couldn’t last very long; but I don’t think I would need to. A few months ago he was arguing he committed murder on a 17 year old kid because he was supposedly so scared. Now he wants to fight a full grown man? I hope this stunt gets the attention of the Feds and they move on a Federal case. This POS belongs in prison. -
I might be larger than a Bass Pro, but it is half the size of our Bass Pro.

As I have said many times you lay this right at the feet of the people that have control over how these entries will be execute; the Chiefs and the Sheriffs. Kicking doors and wearing masks for the take down of drug offenders is ridiculous. I doubt the Sherriff will be able to look this Deputy’s wife and kids in the eyes. I would hope seeing the deputy’s body will make him think. This isn’t rocket science any cop with more than 5 years on the job and has an IQ higher than his age could figure out how to take the offenders into custody, recover the evidence, and neutralize any violent offenders without giving the murderers an opportunity to claim they were acting in self-defense. I do have sympathy for the Officer and his family. It’s a shame the drug dealer was left alive; but maybe he will still stand trial.

It needs a quad free float rail. I’m waiting on S&W to do that with the M&P10 before I add it to the rest of the M&P family.

I have been using the free version of LogMeIn for several years to help some friends and family members when they have computer problems. They have done away with the free version and I don’t use it enough to justify the cost of a yearly subscription. What else is out there?

Four stores in Georgia, none in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi or Florida. That’s really weird.

If you meet a better trained opponent you won’t have a need for any. Who’s going out getting in firefights?
-
No plan to it; over the years I bought it as I could afford it as the price would only go up. I had enough that I could still shoot when the prices were crazy without me having to buy any ammo. That would be the opposite for me. In centerfire I’ll shoot a couple hundred .40S&W, couple hundred .45ACP, 50 308, 50 30-06, and around a hundred 223 in a range trip. The cost and availability of ammo is getting ridiculous though. I’m about at a point where I will forget the hobby shooting and just keep enough for SD.

That’s great. It may not be Constitutional Carry but it brings the rest of the citizens into our special group. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but if it allows carry it’s time for us to make sure this happens.

It would be funny that this scum bags thinks he’s a celebrity; but nothing about him is funny. I hope DMX beats the ever living crap out of him and makes sure he has plenty of people around the ring to stop anyone from trying to interfere. I don’t think there will be a lot of racial fallout over this. I’m a white guy and I hope DMX beats him into intensive care. I doubt it will go down, there are still people out there that would publically take Zimmerman out; they would know where he is going to be. I know it’s all just a scam for money; but a guy can hope. -
I’m not offended by it. I’m offended by the fact that everything the government does has to be published in several languages and I have to pay for it.
